Review: Bristol party-starters Alfresco Disco don't release much, but what they do put out is usually rather tasty. That's certainly the case with the First Forest EP, the debut release from West Country producer Seka. In keeping with the vibe of Alfresco Disco's legendary parties, there's a feel-good feeling throughout. "First Forest" cannily joins the dots between loopy disco house and sparkling deep house, while "Photo Fish" layers woozy, Balearic synthesizer refrains over a bumping groove. The starburst synths and swirling chords return on "Mahalangur", before Tiago delivers a thrillingly eccentric rework of "Photo Fish" full of lilting Balearic melodies, sweaty Latin percussion hits, and wobbly analogue bass.
