Review: As was the case with his fine, self-released debut EP, "Fleet Magic", this EP on All City sees fast-rising producer Fleet Dreams join forces with vocalist and rapper Aj Magic for a warm, woozy and synth-laden shuffle through their distinctive take on 21st century soul. The seven tracks are spacey, groovy and hugely entertaining, cleverly combining elements of future R&B, boogie, hip-hop and deep house into drowsy but attractive new hybrid forms. The EP also boasts a couple of tidy bonus versions: a gently samba-soaked "Balearic Mix" of "Obedience" and an extended "Club Mix" of opener "EKG" that drags the cut further towards late night dancefloor territory.

Review: Long-serving Irish producer John Daly wrote much of the music on "We Will Live Again", his fifth album under his given name, during an 18-month period in which he lost his father to cancer. The majority of the tracks apparently began life as fluid electronic soundscapes, with Daly adding drums and vocals (provided by fellow Irish singers and musicians) late in the process. It's a deeply personal and, unsurprisingly given its' inspiration, poignant affair, with a variety of live-sounding rhythms underpinning yearning chord progressions, spacey electronics, lilting melodies, dubbed-out soundascapes and tear-jerking electronic movements. It's a fine album, all told, and could well by Daly's strongest body of work to date.

Review: Following up 2017's first volume in the series, Veteran irish producer John Daly returns on Dublin's All City imprint as West 2 West - which was debuted on 'Jheri Tracks Vol 1'. Equally as atmospheric/ethereal as his Smoke Clears ambient project, it is 'the result of his ongoing hip hop obsession.' A dozen short MPC workouts inspired by current listening, a perfect combination of hip-hop aesthetics and deep house - but sits nicely in the All City beat discography. There's an after-hours headphone feel to the set - spanning twenty-four tracks split evenly between Volume 1 and Volume 2. From the late night Motor City deep of "Back 2 Earth", to the broken acid-soul of "Daze Like This". From the blunted inner-city sadness of "Exit Strategy" and the sexy lo-fi deepness of hot closer "Almost There" it all proves that John Daly is at the top his game and still one of the most underrated producers in house music. Period.

Summary - (1:37) 87 BPM
Review: Colm K has been delivering occasional chunks of soul-fired dance music since the dawn of the decade, variously touching on deep house, hip-hop, soul, dub and jazz. That deep-rooted eclecticism is naturally at the heart of the Heights EP, which marks his first appearance on All City. Opener "Seeing" is a jaunty peak-time delight, with twinkling electronics and jazzy chords riding a tough-but-bouncy tropical deep house groove, while water is a hazy and fragrant stroll through Jazzmatazz style instrumental hip-hop territory with added electrofunk synth solos. He doffs a cap towards the masters of deep, jazzy and soulful deep house on bass-heavy shuffler "Affinity" before booking a one-way trip to somewhere hot and sunny via the languid downtempo delight that is closer "Summary".

Review: All City: the Dublin Record Store since 2001 and label since 2003 now presents Galway deep house hero John Daly's experimental beats project. Following up last year's well received sophomore LP entitled The Smoke Clears, Daly returns to the label under another alias: West 2 West. The project debuted on the label's Jheri Tracks Vol 1 compilation. Equally as atmospheric, this project is the result of his ongoing hip-hop obsession. MPC workouts inspired by current listening, the result is not the label's usual fare, but sits nicely in their discography. There's an after-hours headphone feel to it all - spanning 24 tracks split evenly over volume one and two respectively.

Do Yoused To Go - (4:33) 130 BPM Hot
Pyramid Peach - (5:30) 129 BPM
Review: Following the release of his rather good - but arguably overlooked - debut album last year, Anno Stamm has been pretty quiet. Here, he returns to regular home All City with FragmentsB, a kind of partner piece to his 2013 debut for the Irish label, FragmentsA. Like its' predecessor five years ago, it's a quirky but hugely entertaining affair. Opener "La Viande" is nominally a fuzzy and occasionally foreboding house cut, but is a much cheerier affair thanks to the producer's use of cheery, lo-fi synth melodies. There's a similar feel to the full-throttle "Do Yoused To Go", where viscously chopped-up rave riffs and mutant vocal samples ride a crunchy, bass-heavy rhythm track. Finally, the producer's dusty, left-of-centre techno beats are swaddled in decidedly trippy and dubbed-out electronics on rock solid closer "Pyramid Peach".

Let The Freak Come Out At Night - (5:48) 133 BPM
Put The Love In It (Peaking Lights remix) - (9:03) 123 BPM Hot
Review: Back in May, New Jackson producer David Kitt finally delivered the debut album we knew he was capable of. Night to Night perfectly showcased his unique artistic vision, melding sounds and styles into hard-to-define new shapes. "Put the Love in It", a woozy, languid and intoxicating chunk of Balearic pop full of horizontal vocals and jaunty brass and woodwind motifs, was undoubtedly one of the stand-out moments. Here the sublime original is joined by a fresh remix from Peaking Lights, whose ten-minute interpretation sits somewhere between groovy dub-disco and the kind of dub-fired dream pop that has long been one of their trademarks. Bonus cut "Let The Freak Come Out" - a curious but impressive mix of bustling, up-tempo percussion, hazy electronics and vocoder vocals - is also pretty nifty.

Review: Dublin label All City present some wack electronics by Florence based Herva, who has released on homeboys Bosconi in addition to Delsin, Planet Mu and Kontra Musik. The label best describes this album as 'chopped and bemused electronics from an Italian beat randomiser: true that! There's some warped and intense breakbeat action on "Smania" while the noisy and industrial "Wavtobin" rinses out metallic textures over lush pads and emotive elements. Finally "Afro Sweep" is a jagged and angular experiment in pop deconstruction which is truly infectious. Inventive grooves on offer here from a talented young producer. Highly recommended.

Leave Me Making - (4:36) 93 BPM
Review: Following a string of acclaimed outings on the likes of Major Problems, Cin CIn, Permanent Vacation and Hivern Discs, David Kitt brings his New Jackson project to All City for the first time. Typically, it's an imaginative, evocative and musically expansive affair, with opener "Anya's Piano" creating a becalmed and quietly confident mood via hazy trumpet solos, smooth fretless bass, skipping drum machine beats and dreamy chord progressions. There's more dancefloor melancholy to be found on the bass-heavy strut of "In My Room", where drifting chords and fluttering melodies cluster around a rock solid house groove. He finishes with a flourish via the pitched-down, Italo-disco/Balearic synth-pop fusion of the near perfect "Leave Me Making".

Review: Veteran deep house producer John Daly first released material as The Smoke Clears back in 2013, delivering a deliciously evocative fusion of ambient and IDM tracks for Further Records. Three years on, he's finally finished the follow-up, an eponymous LP for All City. Taking cues from Selected Ambience Works era Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Pete Namlook, HOLOVR and John Beltran, The Smoke Clears is a sublime collection of beat-less and gently percussive tracks that are variously picturesque, life affirming, bittersweet and mournful. Naturally, it's all beautifully produced, with the shimmering IDM sparkle of "In Time", and the intergalactic ambience of "Heaven Sent" standing out.

There's a great variety of moods and grooves on the To Gravit & Symmeth We Ryth LP (what a tongue twister!) such as the low slung acid of "The Streets Where We Live", the retro bleep techno of "Charge It Up To My Account" or "The Cities I Waltzed Through". Or there's just straight up deep house of the most sublime kind on "Sensing Social Sirens".

Review: As The Cyclist, Derry-based musician Andrew Morrison first surfaced back in 2011 with a cassette on Crash Symbols but came to wider attention with last year's excellent Bones In Motion LP for Leaving Records. The fifteen tracks spilled with tape saturated magnificence from every angle, and since then Morrison has diverted some of his creative energies into the more dance floor-focused Buz Ludzha. That project debuted on All City earlier this year with a 12" of "distorted '80s house" called Love Repetitive Rhythmics, and it's the Dublin label that now issues his latest LP as The Cyclist. If anything Flourish is a more focused set than his debut, building on his established style but veering down exciting new sonic avenues and in "Tape Grunge Rave" possesses one of this year's best track titles.

I Still Have The Photographs - (4:53)
Purple Clouds - (3:11)
A Triangular Patch Of Lip - (5:16) Hot
Review: Stepping up to Dublin's bastion of beats, Anno Stamm is a fresh name by all accounts, although it's hardly surprising to discover that in fact it's 50 Weapons regular Anstam stretching his moniker out for a cheeky excursion further west in Europe. There's still a recognisable complexity to the ingredients Lars Stowe pours into his tracks, as alien melodies and unidentified beat sources bubble away in a thoroughly singular broth, and so the FragmentsA record follows on neatly from the likes of Dispel Dances. If anything has changed for this outing, opening track "I Still Have The Photographs" is slightly more pared down in its amount of elements, but then the hustling drums and twitchy melodies of "Purple Clouds" put paid to that notion. Indeed "A Triangular Patch Of Lip" is equally irreverent, summoning up Italo daemons and electro wraiths for the most discernible floor burner on this record.

Down With U - (5:12) 136 BPM
Review: The near unstoppable run of xxxy continues with Kerpow on Irish label All City (responsible for that massive FaltyDL release this summer), complete with fantastically adorned, pop-art referencing sleeve. It's clear that his style has matured over his prolific run of productions; "Kerpow" is arguably one xxxy's most balanced productions to date, eschewing the day-glo garage of his recent tracks, and combining a pounding breakbeat and techno stabs with warm organ chords in just the right quantities. "Down Wit U" is a juke influenced cut, combining a relentless bass slam and restless 808 rhythms while the titular vocal sample adds a hook worthy of footwork contemporary Addison Groove.

Review: Stepping up with some swinging goodness for the ever-strong All City, Tessela makes a strong statement with his first EP proper. "Slugger" takes the glory with a madcap sampling aesthetic that comes on like Jacob London, comical but also perfectly pitched to avoid being mere novelty. It's a dark and raw affair full of inventive chops and edits. "Subway" gets no less nutty, even if the bass pins everything down, while "Push" buffs out the edges with some Detroit stabs. Wherever you turn your ears there's a fearless action taking place, which promises big things for the future.

Pointing Fingers - (4:00)
Review: Having enjoyed a remarkable 2010 that included Onra's superlative album, the LA series of killer ten inches and much more, Dublin imprint All City begin the year with the first in a new series originally mooted by the label bosses back in 2009. Inviting their favourite producers to knock heads and deliver two tracks, All City deliver a statement of intent with Martyn and Mike Slott at the controls with brilliant results! Much like the majority of Martyn's recent work it's pretty hard to categorise "All Nights", his collaboration with LuckyMe's Slott, other than to say it's a techno step flexer that's primed for play in the clubs. Special mention as well, for the prominent usage of cowbell and a vast array of unidentifiable sound effects that add a sonic richness to the track. The next track brings the downtempo vibes of "Pointing Fingers", all reflective textures and soft, dreamlike melodies aided by rattling beat programming and ethereal vocal harmonies. Forward thinking sounds from all involved.
