Review: Xentrix has been DJing since the mid-90s, and he brings this experience and perspective to bear on his debut long player as PRSPCTV. As its title suggests, it's inspired by a lifetime of playing and making techno. The dramatic strings of "D3T" have shades of classic Dave Angel, while "Fr@ktal Dub" sees Xentrix explore the bleep-laden minimalism of Sahko and Sleeparchive. This is also a work of contrasts: from the groovy "Cosmic Adventure", he veers down a harder route on "Soulspeech", where discordant stabs are fused with a relentless, driving rhythm. The choice of remixers is testament to the weight that Xentrix' name carries. DJ T-1000 turns "D3T" into a stripped back drum track, while Oliver Deutschmann's version of "Cosmic Adventure" is a fast-paced roller.
Review: Denise Rabe recently focused her efforts on her own Rabe imprint. Now she drops this hard-edged distinctive release for Cri Du Coeur's Arkham. The title track is a dense, looped affair, with Rabe using swirling, intense filters to create a jittery intensity. "1394" is also an edgy workout as layered, acrid textures unfold over a stepping rhythm, while in contrast, "Dosing Off" is deeper and more atmospheric, resounding to hissing percussion and stripped back drums. The label has also commissioned a series of high-quality remixes: The Advent transforms the title track into a driving, percussive juggernaut, Cri Du Couer's own take on "Dosing Off" is a high-tempo club groove, powered by steely hi hats, while Dutch act TWR72 turn "1394" into a dense, stepping techno track.

Review: Michael Klein has released on a slew of well-known labels, including Cocoon and Second State, and now he expands his catalogue to include Arkham Audio. The title track is a grimy affair, with dense drums and a rumbling bass providing the basis for tortured riffs and loose percussion. On "Red", Klein ups the tempo; powered by hissing hats and insistent snares, its angular rhythm is both potent and hypnotic. "105" is just as impactful; built on rough kicks, it resounds to layer upon layer of steely percussion. Label owner Cri De Coeur teams up with Erratum to deliver a slamming take on "105", while Dustin Zahn turns "Red" into a stripped back, propulsive workout.

Review: Oliver Deutschmann's music has been released on labels as diverse as Mobilee and Mote-Evolver. For his latest missive on emerging imprint Arkham Audio, he shows why he has such broad appeal. In keeping with his signature style, this four-tracker is tough and functional but also diverse and distinctive, with Deutschmann balancing this seemingly incompatible aesthetics through a range of approaches. The title track features gurgling acid lines unravelling over a driving rhythm and relentless percussion, while on "New Age", he goes deeper, with blustering chords supported by a rolling tribal groove. In contrast, "The B-S Track" is a lean, percussive workout, lit up by a cacophony of bleeps and deft filters and he goes down the minimal route for the impactful closer, "Mr Robot".

Review: Founded by Patrick De Meyer and Olivier Abbeloos outta Belguim's hardcore rave scene of late-'80s and early-90s, Anasthasia by far was the duo's standout and everlasting tune. A true underground rave hit gone large through it withstanding the tests of time, T99 as a group have been inactive for at least the last 20 years, receiving a new injection of life from the super fresh Arkham Audio of Cri Du Coeur. Employing a star studded cast of remixes that includes the likes of Chris Liebing on a funky rave flex, Truncate who goes down a midwest tribal route and Oliver Deutschmann who gives "Anasthasia" a worthy technofied remix; Dave Clarke chimes in with some dusty and agitated riot rave, with the Exterminador Eurodance mix a sweet hidden bonus too!
