Accelerate (Shift Key remix) - (4:34) 71 BPM Hot
Review: They're only two releases deep, but Benin City have potential to be an extremely exciting prospect in UK live dance music. Drawing up an organic frenzy with horns, wild drums and spit-polished vocals, you can smell the festival crowd the moment you press play. While live it's still tight enough to be DJ'd in a D&B set, but if you're after something a little more formulated for your floor, Shift Key's mighty house-influenced dubstep remix is equally as alluring.

224 (Hodge remix) - (5:16) 123 BPM
Pavilion (Filter Dread remix) - (3:16) 120 BPM
Review: With just one other release to his name for Deadplate Records (not counting his turns in trio Circle Traps), Will Ward signs up to Audio Doughnuts for an EP that perfectly shows off his modern bassy techno craft. "224" is a stunning example of how to use industrial techno grit as a jumping-off point for something thrilling and original. With snarling bass tones and heaps of sound design puffing and panting in the mix, the track positively bangs in an eminently danceable way while being completely dizzying at the same time. "Pavillion" too finds Ward offsetting his ranging synth scrapes with tough beats that shuffle and shake in unconventional ways without losing sight of the groove. Hodge meanwhile brings a delicate and mechanical touch to "224", and Filter Dread throws down a spacious and slightly madcap version of "Pavillion".

Review: The unprecedented rush that's met each upcoming funky-house-garage-bassline producer in recent months has plastered the pillars of the bass music spectrum with the tags and new sounds of a scene that's forging itself before our very eyes. Debian Blak has already caught the attention of BBC Radio 6 and has created a stir with previous remixes and bootlegs. This, his first ever full length release, chronicles his musical journeys on his very rapid ascent to bass music stardom. From the lush soundscapes and retro bleeps of "Dive" to the deep, contemplative tones of "Where You", Blak is a man intent on building his own structure on the never-ending tower that is modern bass music. God speed, Debian.

Wake (Two Inch Punch remix) - (3:33)
Wake (Pale remix) - (3:37) Hot
Review: They say that Tuesday's child is full grace. It's certainly true of the productions of Tuesday Born, aka multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Benn. This release sees him leave behind his previous fascinations with Africa and South America to a slightly more traditional North American sound. The quality doesn't suffer though, as "Wake" is a strong take on the Stateside RnB ballad and is successful thanks to a deep and jazzy female vocal. Remixes come from One Inch Punch (shuffle-step) and Pale (broken micro-garage).

Singing In The Dark EP
Singing In The Dark - (4:11) 93 BPM
Sleep With Stars - (4:54) 144 BPM
Wake - (3:17) 123 BPM Hot
Drop The Clouds - (3:18) 100 BPM
Review: Following on from his well-received recent EP Sleep With Stars, multi-instrumentalist
Gabriel Benn is back with a new single and new inspiration. Although "Singing In The Dark" does again feature Africa (here, Ghana), Benn also looked to Columbia for extra musical flavour. The result is this four-track single that features his signature brittle soultronica sounds with all kinds of haunting and fascinating samples and sounds. Highlights include the ghostly garage of the title track and the downtempo RnB of "Wake'.

Hi Grade/Eyes Down
Hi Grade - (4:29)
Eyes Down - (5:12)
Hi Grade (DVA Hi Emotions remix) - (2:50) Hot
Eyes Down (Zombies For Money remix) - (4:07)
Review: Shox continues to push through the ever growing UK electronic landscape with this EP of pure hype for the more energetic corners of modern dance music. "Hi Grade" slams out the bleepy cluster bombs and trancey stingers over a clap heavy beat that should get more youthful ravers losing their proverbials. "Eyes Down" is less about top end distractions and more focused on weighty bass rumblings over a strict house tempo, with plenty of broken beat switch ups for good measure when the shakers need to do their thing. DVA gets all jukey on his remix with some nasty sample looping which eventually gives way to synth flourishes, while Trouble & Bass duo Zombies For Money don't mess around with their version, which slams out a solid broken beat and tempers the synths into focused arpeggios.

Sleep With Stars (Auntie Flo After Dark Jazz remix) - (4:00)
Sleep With Stars (Debian Blak remix) - (4:13) 144 BPM
Review: We're assuming that this new EP by prodigious jazz pianist, producer, and vocalist Gabriel Benn, is not promoting the seedy practices of groupies, but referring to something of a more spiritual, open air nature. Previously exploring his beloved sounds of Africa, this new material is more of a downtempo, brittle lo-fi soultronica tip. Auntie Flo keeps the vibes but veers in a hazy acoustic jazz direction, while Debian Blak goes for a kind of contemplative 2-step rework.

Kwabena
Kwabena - (3:48) 93 BPM Hot
Minor Jam - (4:47) 80 BPM
Review: Bet you didn't know that 'Kwabena' is the traditional Akan name given to a male child born on a Tuesday? We didn't either, but 21 year-old jazz pianist, producer, and vocalist Gabriel Benn does, and his knowledge of African culture doesn't just stop there. Over the course this two- track single, Benn takes us on a 'metaphorical journey through Ghana'. "Kwabena" is a languid slice of Afro-house, equally gentle and propulsive. "Minor Jam" is a more energetic mix of live instrumentation (including shimmering keys) and electronica. In short, a positively exotic single and a lot cheaper than a holiday to Ghana.

Donuts - (6:26)
The People - (5:26) Hot
Donuts (Diamond Bass remix) - (4:39)
The People (Naive Machine remix) - (5:18)
Review: After the slamming Shake It Off EP, up and coming bass producer Pusherman samples possibly one of the most lol-some moments the internet has ever produced on this new EP. "Donuts" features large chunks of Wiley's bonkers-even-by-his-standard rant against Dizzee Rascal in response to "Pussyole", captured via YouTube and layered over a tasty tropical/bass beat. Elsewhere, "The People" is a classy mix of stuttering 808 toms and 2-step snares, while remixes from Diamond Bass and Naive Machine impress too. In a word: "Donut".
