Review: DJ STP is landing on Audio Overload Jungle, the offshoot to the main label, for his first four-tracker in quite a long time, and you can tell him and the label are into their ragga thanks to the signature lacing of funk and reggae influences throughout the whole release. Following in the footsteps of artists like Marky, Deekline and more, STP rolls out a dub-sprinkled piece of music which flips wonderfully, time and time again. 'Greetings' is our personal choice, with a stripped back junglist beat and funky licks floating in and out of the arrangement in satisfying style. Top stuff.
Review: Woi! Audio Overload invite a bunch of mates around for their biggest V/A EP to date. Jedi, Parasite, Falco and Midst all on one release and all sounding fine: Jedi takes the lead with a deeper example of his repertoire on the Die-style swing of 'Feels Naughty', Parasite goes all bubbly and Dread bass style on the rolling bruk-up 'Big Up', Falco brings the sunny-side skank vibes on the dubwise 'Business Deal' before Midst brings things to a powerful close with 'War Dogz'. A big subby hummer with a dusty old soul sample on it, this rattles with authenticity right down to the bones. Take it back, pay it forward...
Review: Instag8 has absolutely smashed this one. Brand new on Audio Overload Jungle, Bump & Grind is a minimal collection of forceful tones and subby wobbles, each track has this funky, stepping feel to it and there are some seriously dirty bass touches. 'Breather' is exactly that, with a jungley but excessively clean drum line, this track just rolls out and out with a wicked progression that takes you on a tour through futuristic, grating soundscapes. It's a sick release with some classic sampling flavours in there as well, especially on the title tune. Love stuff.
Review: Audio Overload Jungle are bringing you Jump & Shock Out, an aptly named release from STP and MC Weedy that will shock you with its ability to make you jump. This EP is just full of straight up good vibes, it's about the energy and the momentum to the rolling production and the way this compliments the rapidly spat bars from the wicked MC Weedy. 'Warming' doesn't sound like much of a warm-up with its banging rapidity and heavy, punching bassline. 'Frensi' has some lovely guitar flicks and sampling and they complement the slick vocal work nicely, a trend continued over the rest of the release.
