Review: Bournemouth's Catchment are back on the always reliable Azuli imprint out of London with another euphoric anthem (and what we think will be another surefire hit) in the form of "Trapped". This tune follows in the footsteps of Disclosure and Gorgon City style stadium house epics. Using an acapella of the Colonel Abrams classic over a massive bassline, killer chord progressions, uplifting pianos and of course.. a headrush inducing drop! It ticks all the right boxes as you'll soon find out.
Review: Chris Lorenzo is a natural collaborator. To date, he's penned joint tracks with Hannah Wants, Chris Lake, Katy B and Donkie Punch. For Sleep Talk, he's joined forces with chanteuse Alex Mills, owner of a fine pair of honeyed tonsils. Musically, it's typical Lorenzo, with the producer underpinning Mills' R&B style vocals with dreamy pads, bouncy but robust beats, and a weighty, UK garage influenced bassline. Happily, it rises and falls in all the right places, with Lorenzo getting just the right balance between main room pump and radio-friendly sweetness. In other words, he's delivered another sizeable single.
Review: Berlin duo Mat.Joe. aka Matze and Johannes are back with "Heart To Find" on the mighty London imprint Azuli, following up great releases on Glasgow Underground, Katermukke and Hot Creations. The latter's influence clearly all over the deep and druggy bass driven house jam with sampled R&B vocals being a nice touch. Expect to be hearing this one on as many dancefloors in Berlin as you will in Ibiza this summer; big hit prediction!
Review: Azuli hook up with the dynamic Dutch duo Roul & Doors. Previously spotted on Defected, it's easy to understand the heat these guys are brewing at the moment. "Forget" is a vibrant electro cut coated with unashamed feel good vibes. Driving deep with a powerful piano hook and all manner of sparkly sonic elements it's an instant showstopper. "Gita" is equally euphoric but the spine-melting message is bolstered with a heavier set tribal suit of armour. Two massive cuts that will grow as the year develops; you won't "Forget" this release in a hurry!
