Review: British duo Posthuman return on their imprint Balkan Vinyl to follow up last year's Pleasure Machine EP on 10PILLSMATE. 303 infused hip-house is the order of the day on "Hack Jammer", later receiving a strobed-out and absolutely mental rework by New York City's Wtchcrft. The body rockin' beats of "Airstrip One" receive a more than welcome bass-heavy electro re-style on DJ Karawai's version, and one more from Ldlldn who infuses more classic rave rave motifs into another remix of "Hack Jammer".

Review: Bonafide legends of the UK acid and rave scene Posthuman release what could arguably be taken in as their piece de resistance. The storied duo present Requiem For A Rave, an 11-track album that keeps hope alive for a new generation to dance again in a field somewhere or find themselves between the pylons of a heaving illegal warehouse party. Not hung up on retrocactivisms, Posthuman spread the LP out over a housier tempo to let expressions of jungle, drum and bass to electro, EBM and hardcore shine through. Delivering some of their freshest, most inspired sounds to date, find your raver climbers in numbers like "RMX" next to some classic trance refrains in "Proof & Fade". Review: Much trusted cousins of the UK acid house scene, Posthuman make their way back to Balkan following an epic Neville Watson sample back, and the duo's own collaboration with Lauren Flax, Endless Summer. As the ideas of warm beaches - in the northern hemisphere at least, begins to dwindle - Posthuman deliver the epic 303, sequenced rave climber "RMX (Lush VIP)" alongside and drummed-up version in "RMX (VIP)". And for that straight up jungle and electro-inspired rave tip - look no further than "MCRD (VIP)". Bleep, rave, IDM, jungle and acid to full effect.

Review: The latest release on Posthuman's label puts the spotlight on Chicago's Alinka. The title track is a bugged out affair, revolving around a swaggering, gritty rhythm that provides the backdrop for a stream of consciousness vocal. On "State of Mind", Alinka pushes in a rougher, rawer direction, as steely drums are fused with gurgling 303s to create a distinctive take on classic Chicago jack. Meanwhile, "Control" is built on dense drums and a pounding bass, which provide the backdrop for deconstructed vocal snippets and tingling acid lines. Rounding off another fine Balkan Vinyl release is Johnny Aux from Paranoid London's layered, throbbing take on "Control".
