Review: Amsterdam's Basserk label specialises in bringing you the finest concoctions of electro, breaks, dubstep and all things bass. This latest EP comes from newcomer Maloki, who wastes no time in giving us his direct, killer UK funky sound. "Quail Bait" contains a slicing chop of a vocal sample which bounces perfectly between the rigid percussion hits, whilst "Osiris" is more lyrical and deeprer, almost heading towards early Skream days. "This Song" is the weirdest one of the lot, with Jamaican style riddims floating over the top of funky breaks and finally, "Bash It Up" sounds like grime if it were filtered through a reggae melody - straight outta Babylon!
