Review: French producer Antoine Husson's album as Electric Rescue seems like an unusual choice for John Digweed's Bedrock label. That said, Sonic Architecture does have some connection to the British DJ's dance floor selections, both past and present. "Unaggressive Complexity" could be an update on the break beat of Hybrid that Digweed championed - albeit with an evil Hoover riff at its centre - while the trippy vocal samples and insane tonal blips of the minimal house groover "Deode" is more in keeping with the Bedrock chief's current playlists. Sonic Architecture is more than dance floor tracks however, and the angelic melodies and glitchy sounds of "Dope" and the jingly guitar riffs and careering electronic bassline of "Airy Field" show that Husson has become a serious album artist.

Review: Los Angeles-based DJ Tara Brooks is a resident for Desert Hearts and Subtract Music, with a steady flow of productions and remixes appearing on the likes of Akbal, Kindisch, Balance Series and Exotic Refreshment - with that in mind her future is most definitely looking bright. She regularly warms up for Bedrock boss John Digweed at his US shows, so it is rather fitting that she debut's on his revered label with this EP. Eunoia (from ancient Greek, literally meaning 'beautiful thinking') features the slinky and tunnelling trance-induction of "Conscious Dream", plus two versions of the title track: a collaboration with renowned local yoga teacher Andrea Restivo. The first being a deep and hypnotic journey, while the second is an acid- inflected journey down the rabbit hole, filled with tension and suspense.

Review: Jon Digweed's label takes a sideways twist with Waterloo Blues. The release is everything that you would expect a Bedrock release not to sound like; subtle and shuffling, powered by organic drums and at its heart haunting violin playing that wails like a banshee at a funeral. It's in stark contrast to the 'dark drum' sound Bedrock made its name with and shows that the label is moving with the times. That said, Bedrock also understands the importance of appealing to its fan base and Yousef's version favours a straight dance floor approach. Over a snaking, rolling rhythm, the Liverpudlian tweaks the violin riff until it's transformed into a high-frequency tone that'll drive clubs wild.

Review: Digweed's label may have tipped its toes in mainstream dance with the recent Japanese Popstars album, but this release from long-time associate Jimmy Van M shows that its staple remains drum-heavy house. The tribal groove of 'Dreams' rolls in like thunder clouds on a clear sky, its rhythm breaking to reveal tantalising, tripped out vocals. "Lucid" is even more twisted, with a cacophony of horns threatening to drown out the chord-heavy breakdown. Just when the track threatens to spiral out of control, the dark drums kick back in. Finally, "Dreams (Dub)" is a more pulsing affair, its sleek riffs and throbbing bass speeding past like a nightdrive along Las Vegas' main drag.

Review: Back to the warehouse sounds of Pig & Dan and the flawless Bedrock label. Here the infamous duo follow up 'Machines' with a fresh double header. Once again proving label honcho Digweed still knows how to pick them (and road-test them), 'Emotions' kicks things off with a fidgety groove, growling bottom end and big drum rolls. Its deep and intoxicating prog that will have the floor head down and rocking. The pace is picked up on the flip with 'Let The Show Begin' having much more of a techno edge which will grab you by the nuts and shake you inside the speaker cones. Killer vibes on both of these versatile dance-floor bombs.. Turn them up!!

Review: It's not like Bedrock have ever been off their game over the past decade, but it has to be said of late they have once again raised the bar and are rocking at their very best. Check out this brilliant five track EP from buzzy artist Maxime Dangles (behind last years 'Sante' smash). 'Hold Up' kicks things off nicely with a dark and intense vibe yet carrying plenty of energy and an infectious groove (which becomes the staple across all five tracks). 'My Boo', in perfect contrast is a lighter affair, while 'Spagetjack' and 'Transparence' go back to twisted club sounds.. You need to be packing this in your music collection.

Review: An exciting new year for electronic music swiftly kicks into gear, as John Digweed's Bedrock label unveils the highly creative new Buraki project. We are not exactly sure who is behind the mysterious project just yet - but whoever it is sure has the label's distinct aesthetic in mind! It has resulted in these three lush cuts. From the slinky and hypnotic "Silk" which is sure to get those strobed-out moments of tunnel vision on the dancefloor, through to the glassy-eyed and evocative "Into The Light Mix" with its humming bassline and rich tapestry of melodies and chords - all building up to an epic climax. The Into The Dark Mix on the other hand is just like the name suggests and ventures into much moodier and atmospheric territory that's perfectly suited to the later A.M. hours.

Review: We all know by now that John Digweeds Bedrock bring the heat to the floor, and over the past year they have been at their very best. This latest release is a real gem with two of our favourite forward thinking producers coming together. Belgian techno don Marco Bailey hot on the heels of his 'High Volume' album, locks horns with fellow countryman Filterheadz for two wicked tech-meets-prog smashers. First up is the dark and twisted 'Mansion' with a throbbing bottom end and eerie fills, while 'Avenue' in perfect contrast is lighter and funkier with a relentless techno rhythm and the Filterheadz trademark tribal vibes flashing through. This is a partnership that most definitely works, more of the same please!

Review: Bedrock mainstay Vassiloudis dives deep into the Miami vibe with a selection of vibes that represent the best side of the mega music conference. Not the obvious 'hands in the air' peaktime anthems but the more mature, discerning backbeat of the event. Spanning from more chilled poolside party pieces to more full-bodied slabs of euphoria, highlights include Guy J's spellbinding "Twenty 11", the ocean-like synth washes of O'Donovan's rush-tastic "Crimson Flare", and the warm chords and tribal rhythm of Eagles & Butterflies "Pharoah". Not the most obvious Miami tracks, but that's exactly the point of this lush, well selected exercise.

Review: It sounds like the Northern Irish act has a hit on their hands thanks to a fiendishly simple but effective track. Sampling the vocal from MARRS "Pump Up The Volume" may seem a bit obvious, but the Popstars combine it with an infectious, wobbly bass and hoover riffs to create a track that sounds like electro house on robot steroids. If this all sounds too mainstream then fear not, as Digweed's label has commissioned some excellent remixes both of the title track and "Out of Nowhere". The Electric rescue versions of the title track are intricate, underground techno workouts, Marco Canal's remix of the same is deep, dubby and brooding, while the interpretation most likely to appeal to Bedrock fans is the Popstars' own irresistible, epic house make-over of "Out of Nowhere".

Review: A rare treat for Nick Warren fans here, as the veteran progressive house producer returns with his first single for three years. As you'd expect, "In Search Of Silver" is heavy on atmosphere, building a deep and smoky groove over ten heady minutes. All Warren's trademark touches are present (long intro, ambient breakdown, dubby basslines, soundwash production) making it a treat for those who dig the classic Bedrock sound. Martin Buttrich handles remix duties, offering up an 11-minute, sub-heavy rework and a tough, drum-laden dub that should satisfy DJs of a more minimal persuasion. Warren also offers up a sofa-friendly ambient version.
