Bingo Bass, established in 2002 by DJ Zinc, quickly became a cornerstone of the UK drum and bass scene. More than just a label, it nurtured artists, pushed boundaries, and championed diverse sounds within the genre.
Bingo Bass served as a launchpad for many rising stars, including Disease, Alix Perez, and Breakage. Their early releases on the label helped them gain recognition and shape the soundscape of modern drum and bass.
Beyond music, Bingo Bass fostered a strong community. DJ Zinc's long-running Rinse FM residency, "The Zinc Sessions," offered exposure to label artists and underground talents, further solidifying its influence.
Review: Rising Londoner star IYAMAH made her entry on Bingo Bass joining the label's boss himself DJ Zinc with "Stubborn", a high-energy dancefloor heater that's sure to get your feet moving. From the very first beat, "Stubborn" grabs you with its pulsating bassline and driving rhythm. The combination of DJ Zinc's signature production style and IYAMAH's powerful vocals creates an undeniable energy that's hard to resist. While "Stubborn" offers a fresh twist, it still retains the classic Bingo Bass sound that fans know and love. The track's blend of UK bass, funky breaks, and a touch of rave nostalgia is sure to please longtime listeners.
Review: Whenever the Bingo Bass banner is raised above the JunoDownload store, we put a few minutes a-side to make sure we can enjoy the merriment we know it will bring, with this latest collection being no exception. We see Jammin deliver three silky original rollers, with the introductory sounds of the title track 'Roll Out' fusing bubbling synthetics and tidy percussive pops with jittering synthetics for a wonderful lift off. From here, 'Bassbassbass' then takes the reins, deploying a much more rave-inspired arrangement, laced with crunchy horns and skippy drums, with the shaker-driven 2-step rhythms and dizzying vocal chops of 'Gimmie' then bringing the project to a tidy closer!
