Black Teeth

A digital music label operating from Sint-Niklaas, Belgium with a focus on electro, dubstep breaks & hybrids. Throughout their musical journeys they discovered that there is a lack of underground collectives, labels for this kind of music in Belgium . Being the shikers that they are, they build our own thing.

'94 EP
'94 - (5:32) 130 BPM Hot
Vulcan's Orbit (feat Ensarr) - (5:25) 137 BPM
Blue Eyed Messiah - (6:13) 133 BPM
Square Sainctellete - (5:05) 131 BPM
Review: Black Teeth have decided to go down a more abstract avenue with this set from Skimir, arriving with some of the most abstract garage ideas we have heard in a hot minute across four tracks of uniquely arranged fire. First up, ''94' fuses moogy synthesiser squelches with eerie vocal chops, before Ensarr's guest appearance on the smokey drum designs and jittering chords of 'Vulcan's Orbit' switches up the flavours massively. From here, the subtle eastern-harmonics of 'Blue Eyed Messiah' give us another unusual sonic experience, before rounding off on the more high-ended synthesiser squeals of 'Square Sainctellete', giving this collection a very tidy closer.

Blood On The Ground - (5:32) 131 BPM
Jump Boy - (4:12) 138 BPM
Vincent - (4:43) 137 BPM
Stopper Don't Talk To Me - (4:44) 135 BPM Hot
Review: The Black Teeth gang have delivered a real smokey box of goodies with this one, as Flatmate touches down to unload four tracks of sub-driven garage goodness, exploring the darker side of the genre that is on the tips of everyone's tongues right now. We open up with 'Blood On The Ground', a silky swagger through dripping key delays and heavyweight sublines, followed by both the more LFO-driven scatters of 'Jump Boy' and broken-beat drum stylings of 'Vincent'. To close off this already impressive collection of UKG wonder, 'Stopper Don't Talk To Me' comes in clutch as a final roller, sampling a classic dancehall vocal to maximum effect.

Lurk - (3:41) 140 BPM
Mokko's Dub - (5:08) 105 BPM
Review: Next up on Black Teeth, a truly thunderous collection of heaters from Traka, who works his magic across four mind-melting originals, showcasing some of the most original 140 ideas this year. The title track 'Fortify' is a swampy chopper, sliding between syncopated percussive slides and distant patois vocal riffs, before the more organic sounding drum processing and subtle subby flavours of 'Heater' give us an exciting follow up chapter. From here, 'Lurk' then unloads a gritty combination of ear-mashing subs and tidy drum arrangement, before the more stripped back, subtle-sub arrangement of 'Mokko's Dub' brings this delightful collection to a close. Awesome work!

Of Course U Can EP

My Lazer (feat Outselect) - (5:36) 140 BPM
Wheel Up - (4:41) 140 BPM
Review: Oddkut has arrived alongside a bag of dynamite for this latest four pack as he joins forces with the team at Black Teeth to unveil a box of serious dubstep flavour, as ever, in a typically unique style. We begin with 'Chase'n'Drums', a bumpy groove through electronic synthetic squiggles and vibrant drum pumps, with the more system-sounding sub sweats and gnarly curls of 'Of Course U Can' then following in close pursuit. From here, Outselect joins the party on 'My Lazer', a more abstract take on 140 as we see skippy percussive manoeuvres play a major role in a truly abstract soundscape, following by the growling reese bites and more breaks-driven drumlines of 'Wheel Up'. Awesome work.
