Review: Recent Los-Angeles finding, Turbotito, is making some serious waves on Bordel - cold, freezing waves that we love. Back on Bordel, this is a remix affair, spear-headed by the artist's original version of "Different", a bittersweet electronic lullaby for the lovers...and even the haters. The first remix by Norwegian legend Kasper Bjork comes through with a punchier drum machine and a little less vocal action, while the Gemini Brothers launch a more progressive house reframing, and Kasper Bjork's dub mix closes things off with a deep, heartfelt groove. Bliss.

Review: Sebastien Chenut was one half of French indie-dance duo Scratch Massive but since moving to the sunny shores of Los Angeles has struck out on his own. His new single "Motor Of Love" still has an undeniable French touch though, rest assured, but it's courtesy of French Canadian Chloe Raunet aka C.A.R. The former lead singer of Battant delivers her impressive "Asleep At The Wheel live version" which as the name may suggest is a reinterpretation but by way of cosmic rock aesthetics. Spanish producer Sutja Gutierrez delivers a remix which again has that 'French chic': think of the sounds of Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant imprint and you'll get the right idea. Last but not least is the original version: yes, appearing 'after' all the renditions, but it's worth the wait. This brooding and atmospheric journey track just reeks of dancefloor drama and will appeal to fans of the Life & Death sound.

Review: LA synthpop producer Turbotito (aka Filip Nikolic)'s fey indie take on the genre has seen him recently collaborate with Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier. Here he's back with a new three track EP. The title track features urgent chugging rhythms laced with sugary synth chords and sing-along vocals and "Different" (which features Baby Alpaca) evokes memories of 1980s 'sophisti-pop' acts like Black. "Don't Talk" meanwhile, is moody, slow Eurodisco like that made by David August. The title track is also turned into cool electro-disco by Mondowski and cool deep house by Max Pask. There's even a Turbotito remix of a dreamy Baby Alpaca track too!
