Bristol-based drum and bass label Born On Road has had its foot held firmly on the gas since 2013. From jacked up jungle, to vocal-led rhythms and tear-out rollers, the label has been firing out the spiciest of sounds with label captains Aries, Kelvin 373, Stivs and Gold Dubs at the helm. Born On Road has been showcasing some of the hottest talent with forward-thinking releases from the likes of: AC13, Ben Snow, Disrupta, Euphonique, Benny Page, DJ Hybrid, Jappa, Lupo, GRAY, Phibes and more.
Review: Following a slew of killer releases last year on the likes of Biological Beats, Program and Jungle Cakes, the currently unstoppable Jenks returns to Born On Road with two more addictive party-melters. 'Chimes' is one of those naggy tunes that are super fun to mix in over pretty much any blend and will always get a wild reaction while 'Frequency' gets even heavier with its ravey riff and drop into pure guttural gully. Power moves!
Review: Freshness abounds! Refracta reconnects with the Born On Road with two totally stunning emotional D&B breakdowns. 'Slave To Sound' takes the lead with its super dramatic opener and sense of synth majesty. 'You Make Me Feel Alive' continues that feeling but with even more latent drama and emotional urgencies in the halftime arrangements. Both really interesting and forward-thinking tracks; few labels in drum & bass have smashed things so meteorically as Born On Road and its releases like this that are the reason why.
Review: Samurai Breaks on Born On Road? Now this we have to shout about! If you've been following Samurai Breaks' previous thumpers and howlers already then you'll know the firepower he brings. Upping the tempo just a smidgeon to bring it to Born On Road's dnb energy levels, the fire just got even hotter. Highlights flame out all over the shop but the opening cut slaps and slams with utter decadence, the title track is a super woozy, wobbly jam while 'Tuff Hornz' blows us away on the finish line. Wickedest by name and nature.

Review: If you're UK-based and into D&B then chances are you've already raved to these tunes among 50,000 other junglists in Winchester's famous Matterly Bowl this summer as Born On Road proudly present some of the key theme tunes for this year's Boomtown. Written by Bristol artist Kreed, 'The Time Is Now' comes in a variety of editions featuring powerful vocals of Eva Lazarus and Inja. All versions shining brightly with soul and hope for a brighter future, the release comes complete with a brazen junglist work out from the currently unstoppable Kleu 'Find Your Light'. Lighter crew, this one is most definitely for you.
Review: Next up from the team over at Born On Road, a summer-inspired singalong, perfect for both festival season and the mainstream radio airwaves as the sounds of Gray and Donae'O join forces in spectacular fashion. With that in mind, 'Can't Put Out My Flame' is a hit in every sense of the word, from the spine-tingling vocal singalongs, to the warbling synthesiser growls and warbling subs, all the way back to the percussive pops that give this one a real unique sense of charm and character. We will be very surprised if this one doesn't end up becoming one of the sounds of the summer, with both Gray's production and Donae'O's legendary vocal prowess shining through!
Review: Shellerz by name, shellerz by nature; Born On Road have curated a killer collection of heavyweight slap-abouts in time for silly season. Sub Zero pirouettes into the mix first with the gully ballet that 'Bullet'. He's backed up by a whole host of young talent; Bennie & CLB get wavey to the ravey rushes on 'Spark It', Stance, Jenks and Fearnquest get dark on 'Stamina' while Napes and Xav pay tribute to the pirate on the disgusting stripped back stepper session 'Four Fists'. Shell out or shut up.
