Review: As always with the Breakbeat Paradise team, we are in for one hell of a ride with this spicy new selection, exploring a selection of high intensity remixes for the latest Mined & Forrest project. We begin with a raucous intro from Jack Lemmon, who gives 'Funk Toxic' a lick of paint, followed by BadboE's funkadelic rethink of 'Gimme The Best'. Next, Beat Le Juice sends 'Rock It' to the blender with a bass heavy sizzler of an overhaul, followed closely by both B-Side's oldschool chop of 'There It Is' and Mr Bristow's, post D&B recreation of 'Fire Back'. Finally, Mined & Forrest get busy themselves with an explosive VIP mix of 'Coming Through', putting a final glisten on a fantastic body of work.

Review: Upbeat, unpretentious nu-disco and disco-house are the order of the day here, much along the lines of Hed Kandi's mid-noughties Disco Kandi/Disco Heaven comps. With 14 tracks to choose from there's plenty of dancefloor bang for your disco buck, and while there's undoubtedly a whiff of fromage in the air in places (Badboe's rap-vocalled, Sister Sledge/InDeep-referencing 'Best Of My Beats', for instance, isn't a million miles from a Will Smith production) there are also slightly deeper pleasures awaiting those who are prepared to dig around a bit - see, for instance, the raw disco-funk of 'Miss Broadway' or Joy Legend's Hammond-sporting 'Pass It On'.

Review: It's time to get our groove on as Pecoe returns to the super consistent Breakbeat Paradise Recordings imprint to deliver four tracks of futuristic funk, kicking off with the groovy guitar licks and constantly shifting vocal presence of 'It's My Beat'. From here, we switch things up a tad with 'What's Going Down', letting the wah wah guitars run riot atop a stripped back drum loop and shifting synthesizer influences, followed by the instrumental bliss and gorgeous landscaping of 'Next To You'. Finally, the jittery melodies and intermittent vocal slices of 'How We Just Chill' rounds off the project with a bang!

Review: The Breakbeat Paradise team have a fantastic record of supplying us with top quality-sounding breakbeat originals, with this new selection from BadboE and Tom Showtime continuing that theme in style. We begin with 'We Funk Tings', combining some classic rap vocal sampling with a crunchy backdrop of groovy bassline action and subtle horn influence. This is then followed by the hip-shaking horns and percussion-laden arrangements of 'You Have It Hot', before the nostalgic composition of 'The Time Has Come', again working together with legendary vocal samples with leg-shaking rhythmic designs to really get the day-party started!

Review: As always when we stumble across a new Breakbeat Paradise drop, we feel the need to buckle up our bootstraps for a journey into the groove, this time alongside the wonderful duo of Mined & Forrest. We kick off with the title track 'Cool Operator', a punchy funk bomb, stuffed full of gorgeous bass riffidge and scattered drum splashes, before 'Rock It' deploys an array of electronic guitar lines for something a little bit different. From here, 'NY' relaxes the tone with some smooth sample work and expressive pad moves providing us with a sumptuous mixdown, before the emotional string lines and hypnotic electro twists of ''My Siren Song' are joined by Amanda Power for a wavy end to this top quality four tracker!

Review: Pecoe is a special producer, at this point, it is pretty undeniable. Over the years we have seen him deliver some incredibly vibrant creations at a super consistent rate, with today's return to Breakbeat Paradise Recordings being the perfect LP showcase. Featuring five top-quality originals, we begin with groovy guitar riffs of 'Back To The Beat', followed by 'Dance The Funk', a psychedelic explosion of punchy drum energy and catchy vocal slices. Next, 'Bounce With Me' combines lively horn sampling with sizzling bass riffs, before more fantastic vocal manipulation on 'Feeling Funky' and 'Life' delivers an uplifting breakbeat bonanza. On remix duty, we hear fine additions from Stabfinger, Gramophone, Funkin Basstards, and Kenny Beeper, rounding off an excellent body of work.

Review: It's becoming a weekly occurrence to see a tasty new helping from the Breakbeat Paradise Recordings team land in the store as they this week welcome the killer combination of Kenny Beeper, MC Shureshock and Snuze for a tidy new drop. We kick off with the nostalgic guitar lick sampling and skippy vocal flavours of 'Freefall', before the title track 'The Fun Police' unleashes a smokey hip-hop vibe, energized by it's organic drum smashes and catchy melodic lines. We then get into a box of official remixes as 'Freefall' receives four makeovers. Firstly, Kibosh gives us a twisted fidgety rethink, followed by a funkadelic experiment from Pecoe and Spenda C's casino ready rethink. Finally, Doctor Werewolf gives the track a room shaking d&b switch up, rounding us off nicely!

We kick off with the energetic BadboE rework of 'Feel The Vibe', which realigns Sofia Kamina's soulful vocal presence with a thumping breakbeat drumline, followed by the super groovy guitar shuffles of Jayl Funk's '2000' remix. Next, Pecoe arrives to deliver an experimental chop of 'Drop The Mirrorball', before Sons Of Satin round the project off with their dancefloor ready breaksy shake up of 'Soul Disco'. Review: When we dive into the Breakbeat Paradise catalogue, it's clear to see that they are one of the real leaders across the breakbeat genre, with this latest powerhouse drop from Nasa Funk being a perfect example of why. The original of 'Gonna Work It' is a super wonky creation, slapping together quirky vocal lines with stuttered live drum rhythms and an overall funkadelic feel. The remixes however are what bring this release to life, with four impeccable recreations being brought forward. Prosper & Stabfinger give the track a vibrant 4x4 lick of paint, alongside JayL Funk's smooth hip hop recreation and Mount Ten's spacy overhaul. Finally Cayetano sends the track down a crunchy halftime route to round us off in style.

This is followed then by then spacey arrangements and scratch inputs of 'Do It 2 Me' alongside 'Sexy Shine', a spacey project led by more clever vocal sampling. Finally, 'Get Happy' combines punchy bass guitars with rhythmic cowbell manoeuvres before we round up with 'Freak Bitch 2020', an amalgamation of funk and soul flavours to round us off in style!

Review: Breakbeat Paradise first released the various artists EP 'Funk Originals' back in April 2017; now, nearly three years later, it's back with a new set of remixes. The EP as a whole is very much the proverbial game of two halves: the four original tracks are aimed fair and square at lovers of "new old" funk and soul (think Speedometer, Dap Kings, etc), while the three remixes ('Stand Up' doesn't get one, oddly, but its P-funk/Zapp-isms will delight funkateers nonetheless) are altogether more squelchy and electronic-sounding, and as such will be better suited to broken beat or funk-breaks sets.

Review: Breakbeat Paradise have been a on a serious roll over the last year or so, consistently delivering us the freshest Breakbeat originals. They continue this theme here with great success as Electrogorilla unveils 9 new creations, all laced with energetic drum work and smart sampling to draw out that nostalgic feel we all love about Breakbeat. From the classic electro synth rolls of 'Electrhino' and 'Mosquito Lullaby' to the more eye opening, aquatic sounds and sharp percussive inputs of 'Killer Whale Odyssey', 'Enimal Planet' one holds something for everyone. Our highlights include the niche grooves and grizzly bass tones of 'Lazer Panda' alongside Shinder and of course the spacious ambience of 'Zebra Tribe'.

Review: It's time to truly unleash the funk as we welcome back the highly respected Breakbeat Paradise Recordings crew with a solid body of work from Mined & Forrest, who impress thoroughly. The scattered vocal samplings and slower, more precise drum sampling of the title track 'Coming Through' immediately demonstrates their finesse, before dipping into the smooth vocal lines and emotive horn melodies of 'I Would Fall' alongside LAWN, Stephanie Lottermoser & Eve Lamell. Next up, it gets more electro with the glitchy synthesizers of 'Rock On', before Blokboy and Funkanizer get busy with their extremely exciting remix additions, rounding this one up perfectly.

As well as the cracking original of 'Break A Day', which fuses smooth horn backings with crunchy drum patterns and expansive vocal harmonies, this one comes complete with a sack of remixes, including hefty reworks from Dubra, Arteo, Kid Stretch & Funky Boogie to begin with. Review: There is no question at this point that Breakbeat Paradise is one of the most consistent label projects currently operating within independent electronic music. After a run of highly enjoyable releases towards the end of 2018, we welcome them back to releasing with a fantastic collaboration project between DJ Clairvo and The Aliens of Denmark, who we must say, make quite the team. We begin with the classic Sleng Teng bassline running riot on 'Somerset Melodies' before 'An Evening With Tony' lets loose an array of twisted bass sounds alongside some classic vocal samples. Following this, the dubwise melodics of 'Mirage Of Troopers Hill' take the reigns, before finishing up on the bubbling harmonies and stripped back drum work of 'One For Stokes Croft'. Charming stuff.

Review: It's quite marvelous to see so much fresh new music has been coming out of the legendary Breakbeat Paradise Recordings camp this year, as they bring together another top draw drop, this time courtesy of Stabfinger with his 'Funkastick' project. We kick off our journey into this one with the randomized wobbles of 'Twenty Five Miles', which is closely followed by the groovy guitar licks of 'Disc Jockey'. Next we have the succulent percussive pressure of the title track 'Funkastick' which combines oldschool drum combos with exciting chord patterns to achieve a really cool energy. Finally we round up with the tasty drum crunches of 'Simple Et Fonky', topped with classic vocal samples.

Review: As one of the breakbeat scene's leading forces, there is always a lot of pressure on the infamous Breakbeat Paradise Recordings team to supply the genre with top draw release projects. They do not disappoint here as they bring in the talents of The Funkin' Basstards for four inspired original creations. We begin our journey with the old school, nostalgic tastings of 'Return Of The Originals' alongside some crafty vocal work from BNC, before switching up the plate on the more funkadelic stylings of 'Fever To Flava', alongside the cracking vocals of Mustafa Akbar. To finish up, two very enjoyable collaborations with EVeryman across the stripped back drum driven arrangements of 'Swing It Or Leave It' and the super jazzy melodic stacks of 'Delight Smokers'.

Review: As everyone expected, the latest in a long run of releases from the Breakbeat Paradise camp is an absolute belter as they unveil 'Closer To The Sun' from Ken. As a single it's a hip hop inspired thrill ride, built on hefty basslines and smooth drum work, immediately shouting "cool" at all who hear it. The bulk of this release comes via the remixes however, kicked off by Discobeta's subtle stripped back overhaul. We then hear Ursula 100 turn the track into an 80's inspired electro thriller before Minded & Forrest get super funky with their complete breakbeat redesign, packed with scratchy vocal slices and emotive horn sections. Finally we finish up with Bezwun's wonderful fidget-like refurbishment, driven by electronic chord stabs and groovy drum movements, rounding off a great EP in style.

We kick off with the ruckus of a recording with 'In My Blood' alongside the infamous vocals of MC Kurnel. Returning to Breakbeat Paradise, the prodigious beat-maker drops the second chapter of Ghetto Disco, a series which, as you can probably tell by the name, focusses on the more 'gangsta' side of disco and boogie. In fact, these five cuts are of the latter than they are the former, stomping and chomping their way across arrangements with some fiery electro bass and cosmic tones. There's even a nice layer of hip-hop sensibility in there for you, namely through the party-ready funk-bomb by the name of "Smokin N Drinkin". Big and bad - here to party!

Review: Tampa Florida based Breakbeat Paradise are back with a new one by Mined & Forrest: who are none other than Mined from Obba Select and Forrest Funk. Inspired by classic funk, modern bass design and hip-hop sampling, they teamed up to bring their musical ideas together. Party starting/block rockin' beats with some very familiar vocals to get you singing along to on "There It Is" (original mix) while "Funk Toxic" takes you back to the '80s on this funky joint full of slap bass, a totally electric brass section and a drummer getting mighty wicked. Elsewhere, it's a family affair on the nu-skool shenanigans of "Drugs" featuring Joker, until the EP closes with a bang courtesy of the one and only Jayl Funk remix of "There It Is" which really works that vocal of a certain missy over a street level funk explosion.

Review: Moron and The Mister: a London b2b Bristol connection with more stripes than a tracksuit convention. Morongroove takes the lead with a block party busting disco strutter with vocals from the heart of the b-boy nucleus before Bristow joins the fray for a bass-slapping p-funk slapper. Deeper again Moron slinks so low to reveal a party under the stairs. And the party don't stop until the last scratch and synth squiggle of the premium bass-slapping, key-sprinkling "Where You At" echo out. Vibey.
