Review: Hit the dekka! Here comes Wrekka... And once again he's living up to his name with a whole fistful of fire. Demolition business from the second that futuristic bass sweep hits you on 'Bring It Back'; highlights include the spacious venom of 'Brass Gaff' (with Niterider), the sultry sleaze from the balance of sweet vocal and grubby bass on 'God Complex', the weirded-up funk and twisted treats on 'Groove Symmetry' and the aptly titled 'Different' where the grizzly bassline is backed up by stuttering kicks and sick-but-sparing vocal sample. Complete with remix of 'Bring It Back' from Drowzee, it's another 10/10 from the windy Cardiff crew.

Review: Standing in the corner searching for your Rizla? Look no further, Drowzee's found them and he's returning them by the power of this stinking sextet of sizzlers. Taking off where he left us on Invicta, Pick The Lock and Pick N Mix, it's another ruffage meltdown. The drill-sampling title track sparks up every dance in a 20 mile radius with both the vocal and the rifle-fire bassline. Elsewhere highlights include the skanking break-outs and killer bars on 'I Stepped', the weirdo croaks and buzzes on the sinewy uppercut 'Reckless Driver'

Review: This Cardiff/Brighton-based label call themselves Breeze but they're actually more of a typhoon in their energy and approach. It's been proved time and time again with hurricane releases from the likes of HYN, Dreadnaught, Formula, Parallel and many more exciting new names. Now, with a good few years of building their discography with exceptional new-gen talent, comes the remix EP. A whole load of the label's best and brightest, remixed by each other and fellow label kindred spirits. Highlights include Stuss's dramatic sledgehammer twist on Para's 'For You', Nautik's tense and grizzly take on Hyn & Pengo's 'Frequency' and Drowzee's head-twisted rhythm on his rub of 'Selecta'. Furious business. No airs or graces necessary.

Review: Fresh from laying down the massive 'London' on Young Guns earlier this year, young Brizzle badman Hyn fires up the engine on rising Welsh label Breeze. Another very generous bundle of cuts, once again he's showcasing some serious talent. 'Frequency' takes the lead with some raw sandpaper style bass textures over a precision two-step while 'Monster' is a gloopy, toxic muddy swamp of a track that threatens to suck you into its perils at any minute. Elsewhere 'Evacuate' is a tense and chilling piece of bassline moodiness with some great random drum work in the mix while 'Fear' finishes with the naughtiest breakbeat-based rattler of the set. Breeze? Hurricane more like.

Review: Warning warning warning! Formula steps up to Breeze with some serious public service announcements. 'Stranger Danger' reminds us not to talk to dodgy weirdos with its spiky, agitated riff that bounces and bashes around over the beats like a late 90s Zinc cut. It's backed by 'Wasp Season'. Another essential message as we move into the warmer months, this time with fellow new-gen talent ALR, here our stripy, stingy combatants are fended off by a bulging bassline of obese proportions. Stay safe!

Review: Stuss is on Breeze for an EP that sits comfortably on the intersection between lighter and darker bits, a nice concoction of influences that come together for wicked results. 'Touching Me' is fresh and creative, with a skippy, drum line and warped out synth nodes that climb and fall in tandem with each other, forming a hypnotic main melody. 'Outlaw' takes things into darker territory with a stripped back arrangement, greater focus on the drums and an even nastier back end. Big.

Review: This release from Hydrolikz remind us of Jam Thieves, and it's a comparison which speaks to the quality on display. The title track is a venomous, sub-heavy concoction which runs on its heels and jabs with its elbows, a pointed, angular song with a heart of blackness and anger in its soul. 'Confused' is a jump up-edged track on a mission, and its stepping percussive line is right in line with the fashion at the moment, as groove takes precedence over force and the subtelties are given room to breathe. 'Horrible Things' finishes the release off with grating, stabbing energy - a big three-tracks here.

Review: This single from Dreadnaught is a potent demonstration of drum & bass finesse across two tracks, both of which are rolling and both of which combine solid foundations in the percussion with wobbling movement in the low frequencies. 'All Seeing Eye' is the lighter of the pair, with a soulful vocal sample that floats above the arrangement with serious grace, whilst 'The Fall' is bigger, broader and more rambunctious in its attempt to mess you up, a giant foghorn coming round the corner just in time to bump into you and send all your belongings flying. Awesome.

Review: Many rumours abound about the name young Bristol talent Para. Is he a paratrooper when not on murking duty? Is he a paramedic keeping the world alive and being a hero? Was he born in a parachute? Is his middle name parallelogram? Or is he just paranoid? We don't know any of these answers but we do know this EP is a very high calibre statement as to where he's at and what he can do. 'For You' brings a little housey spirit with the soulful vocal over stamping beats, 'Knock' brings a little jazzy touch with those piano trembles while 'The Witch' sees him teaming up with fellow rising talent Willow for a truly darked out finale. Paralytically intoxicating sounds.

Review: Fresh from his "Megatron" missives on Cave, Yoteii makes his debut on the rising new-gen outpost Breeze. Four tracks in total, each one of them packing his animated, springy signature. "No Choice" digs the foundations with a rubber ball bass riff that licks out in a classic early 2000s Q&A style. It's swiftly followed by the title track, which more than lives up to its name. Minimal in ingredients, maximum in flavour, you can file this one under 'serious creeper'. Elsewhere "Ratchet Man" plays a cool game of contrasts with a deep, velvet intro and a guttural greasy machine drop while "Creatures" closes business with a rasping, gnarly, gritty stampede. Monstrous.

In a subgenre that can be inconsistent, to put it mildly, this is jump-up as its meant to be done, over the top but to the exact right degree. 'Don't Stop' is the better of the two, with a sick vocal sample and an off-beat element to the arrangement that gives its punchy bass stabs that extra oomph a lot of tunes don't quite manage to hit. The foghorns are out on the flip in a KoTR-esque number, and 'Attitude' rounds off the single in style. Banging.
