Review: Legendary Dutch duo Ernesto & Bastian go back to doing what we think they do best with this heavy hit of tech trance for armada offshoot Captivating Sounds. They maintain the impeccable song writing skills and creative melody work that made classics like 'Darkside of The Moon' and 'Stranger In Paradise' (albeit now with a fierce and cutting edge twist). The Flyers take their foot off the gas a little for their mix, while in contrast Saint X goes in hard and producing our pick of the lot.. This has been smashing it for the elite pack over the coming months and now its all yours!!
Review: One of the most prolific and consistent producers In trance continues to find inspiration and push new sounds, an impressive 15 years on into his career. And collaborations like this are prime example of how and why he remains relevant. 'Varana' sees him behind the dials with Aussie upstart LCK, adding a futuristic vibe to Koglins acclaimed sound. It's also the perfect vibe for Captivating Sounds with that killer mix of both energy and melody. For even more floor-power head for Argentina's fast rising talent Chris Schweizer who throws it down big, and heavy with plenty of extra tech and bass.
Review: There should be no hesitation for any trance (or dance music) fan in grabbing this instantly. Some 13 years after it's first release, the timeless classics from Solarstone not only defined an era, but a whole genre and is still one of the best loved anthems ever produced. Four new mixes come via Captivating Sounds kicking off with (our favourite) from the man himself on his aptly penned Pure mix, a subtle warming and freshening up to the modern day while keeping all the original beauty and emotiveness. Antillas & Dankann keep simplicity at the heart with a gentle deeper rerub, while Thomas Datt delivers a gloriously night uplifting take. A sure fire pleaser, and our essential tune of the moment!
Review: One of our favorite labels for pushing the boundaries in trance is Armada off-shoot Captivating Sounds. Never standing still in one sub-genre or afraid to unleash the unexpected, making this sinister collaboration between Sied Van Riel and Waakop Reijers the perfect fit. With Sied's long awaited debut album around the corner, 'In Awe' sees him lock horns with the legendary producer behind countless Tiesto classics. The outcome is fairly dark, yet with plenty of power. The simplest of grooves sets an open foundation for the evolving lead and distant mystic pads which build to an orchestral break. If this is anything to go by, we cant wait to hear what's in store on the album.. An essential buy!!
