Review: Post Industrial Boys is the production alias of Tbilisi, Georgia singer-songwriter George 'Gogi' Dzodzuashvili, who's also part of the Goslab collective, and this is his fourth PIB album in 20 years. Previous long-players have been described variously as leftfield, electronic, experimental, downtempo and ambient: that should give you a few clues as to the sound of this one, which starts with the introspective, biographical title track and takes in a further eight slices of contemplative synth doodlings and half-sung/half-spoken, poetic and very narrative-driven lyrics. Listen closely and you'll hear echoes of Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, as well as 80s 'intellipop' artists such as Black, Furniture or even David Sylvian (in solo mode).

Review: Yoofee - Moses Yoofee Vester, if we're being formal - hails from Berlin and has racked up a string of releases over the past five years on labels including Unchained Recordings, Albion Collective, Indigo Movement and Infernal Sounds, operating mostly at the deeper end of the dubstep spectrum. But he also happens to be an accomplished jazz pianist, and it's those skills that come to the fore on this bruk beat four-tracker for Casablanca-based Moroccan label Casa Voyager. Expect intricate, stuttering beats, haunting, fragile female vox and, as befits his background in dubstep, lashings of phat, squelchy analogue bass.

Review: Driss Bennis returns on his Casa Voyager imprint out of Casablanca with another outing under the OCB alias. Transhuman X-Press features eight club oriented cuts; the acid 2-step roller "Aquaquest Pt.2.5" (THX), the lysergic early '90s breaks of "The Magic Laugh" (Trancehuman) through to the sci-fi computer funk of "Faded Flowers" (ft.95 Steps) and proving it certainly is a diverse offering, it ends with the deep broken beat acid house of "The Betrayal".
