Review: Despite it being a relatively quiet week in the realm of dubstep, this Orwell drop on Cella has all the elements of an absolute classic, jam-packed with forward thinking production goodness from start to finish. We begin with 'Tears In The Rain', a fabulous call and response between lethal horn punches and glittering melodic chimes, swaying from side to side with a complete level of unpredictability. Next, we dive into something a little deeper as the pulsating synth swirls and mystic harmonic structures of 'Seek Out' give us something very refreshing indeed, before Pablo Brown joins us on the more stripped back, emotionally-fueled arrangements of 'Orna'. It's a marvelous three track selection that packs many a punch.
Review: The Cella team have arranged a pretty powerful election here as they unveil the incredible tracklisting for 'Radio Static', a dubstep compilation showcasing the deeper and darker side of the sound featuring ten potent original creations. The tracklisting boasts some heavyweight names, from Kodama and Drumterror to BFM & Khabs. It's just an impressive body of work across the board if we are honest, with our highlights including the twisted eastern melodies and crunchy drum slices of 'Clarity' from Reamz, alongside 'Hush', a more experimental, higher tempo creation from Turner On The Track. This is definitely a project that would be improved by a long-play listening session. This is dubstep done right in 2021!
