Review: Although he initially rose to prominence is a purist tech-house producer, Deetron's music has become increasingly deeper and more soulful as his career as progressed. 'Evermore', a co-production with Chicago stalwart Peven Everett, is another step in this direction. The original version (track one) is a perfectly pitched, musically detailed deep house number full of shuffling hand percussion rhythms, locked-in machine drums, fluid bass guitar and starry synth sounds, topped off by a superbly soulful lead vocal by Everett. The longer accompanying instrumental mix provides more of the goodness - vocal aside - with the pair choosing to showcase warm electric pianos, mazy synth solos and a subtly reinforced groove.
