Review: Fresh from dropping a humid EP of sticky and seductive, global-fusion house treats, sometime Close Knit and Crosstown Rebels contributor Cipy transfers to Connected. The Bird In Hand EP is similarly quirky, inventive and quietly melodious, with the Barcelona-based Italian flitting between shuffling, slow-burn dancefloor release (the elongated guitar solos, foreboding electronic melodies and snare-heavy beats of 'Bird in Hand'); lolloping, tech-tinged early morning beauty ('Coupon'); bouncy and exotic Middle Eastern house workouts (undoubted EP highlight 'Aman'); and the deep synth-pop-goes-deep-tech excellence of 'Utopia', featuring guest vocals from KnowKontrol. In other words, it's another typically inventive but club-ready collection of cuts from Cipy.
