Review: Well well well, it looks like CruCast are back up to their old tricks again as they assemble a weighty new compilation collection to fill out the fourth volume of their flagship series 'Shake The Bass'. As per, the heavyweights have arrived as we see some incredible creations from the likes of MPH, Burt Cope, NLMT, Massappeals, Vital Techniques and more. However, it is in the more underground names that have found the most excitement, with our highlighted features on this one coming firstly from Namena, who delivers a gnarly, metallic monster with 'Chains', alongside the techy influences of 'Honey Dip' from Foul Play and the charged up melodic bass-driven madness of Cooky's 'Behind'.

Review: As ever, it is a truly exciting time to be a CruCast fan, with this latest christmas compilation seeing some of the biggest names in the business join forces for a ferocious throwdown. The tracklisting itself is made up of non-stop bass stardom, with the likes of heavyweights such as Skepsis, Kanine, Darkzy, Window Kid, Turno, Disrupta, Original Sin and Sub Zero being just a handful that immediately jump out. The project features a range of heaters from across 2023, including the hard hitting sounds of Zero's 'Acting Like ILY', the sizzling synthesiser swipes of Amplify & Nu Elementz's 'See Me' and of course the unforgettable euphoria of AC13 and Grace Barton's 'Mesmerised'. A damn fine way to close off another successful CruCast year.

Review: As a label, Crucast have gone from strength to strength, rapidly establishing themselves as one of the premiere platforms for bass music in the UK. This complication marks that out perfectly with an astonishing selection of over 30 original creations, featuring high profile appearances from the likes of Jaguar Skills, Brent Kilner, Pavv, TC4, Inkline, Deadbeat UK and a tonne more. For us the EP highlights the strength in the current UK bass scene, with favourites being Bushbaby & Hadean's long-awaited collaboration release 'Clean Up', the monstrous swinging synths of Tengu's 'Weapon' and of course the wonky wonderings of SaidWho's 'Voices', a truly original compositional idea, focussing on rawcus bass sounds and scattered drum selections.

Review: 2019 is a year which has seen a major shift in the landscape of music, both in regards to the status of the genre worldwide, and the evolution of the sound itself. One of the leading projects in the more tearout corner of bassline is of course CruCast, a label that remain at the forefront of the sound, shutting down raves around the country every weekend. This latest helping from them comes in the form of a twenty track strong compilation project, featuring some absolute heat from the likes of Papps, Moda, Tengu, JGE, Jay Faded and more. There are a couple of clear standouts for us, with the super original bass rhythms of 'Don't Bother Act' from Tekraw and Dread MC being an immediate earworm, along with the super oldschool niche vibes of 'On My Mind' from Vamos.

Review: One thing we have noticed about the CruCast release model, is that it is perfectly balanced between their more established faces and a constant wave of exciting newcomers. This release pays homage to the first of those options as CruCast roll out the red carpet for an all-star affair as the likes of Skepsis, Darkzy, Bru-C, TS7, Tsuki and more come together for a scorching selection of brazen bassy badness. There are some tasty pieces involved, but the ones that leap out the most have to include Skue-K's colourful rework of Bru-C & D Double's 'Heater', along with a vibrant VIP mix of 'Jungle' from Nu Aspect.

Review: As champions of the UK bassline sound, the CruCast roster continues to impress on all angles as they unleash the third edition of their 'We Are Crucast' series, showcasing some of the most heavyweight releases they have landed over the course of 2020. The roster is pretty sensational to say the least, with the likes of AC Slater, Darkzy, P Money, Zero, Skepsis, TS7, Zero, Cajama and more all making notable appearances throughout. The project as a whole is a top quality representation of where the sound of UK bassline is currently at, with our personal favourites including the techy blips and vibrant subs of MPH's '116', alongside the stripped back bass warbles of Corrupt (UK)'s 'Strange Things' alongside the sultry vocal lines of Raas. Top stuff all around!

Review: As one of the UK's longest standing and most consistent underground vocal heavyweights, it's such an exciting sight to see the legendary Dread MC finally touching down on CruCast for a full length album project. Following on from one of the strongest feature runs, he finally lets loose for a storming collection, featuring terrific production features from Badger, Jaxx Da Fishworks, Tsuki, Taiki Nulight, Shosh & so many more, giving this one a bag of star factor before we even begin to break it down. From the deeper lyric-based meanings of 'No Emotion' through to the pure raucousness of 'New Era' alongside Duckworthsound, we get to experience of Dread MC's vocal ability across the project, with our favourites including the groovy bass expressions of 'Kicks' alongside Hoda & Eloquin, alongside the carnival infused drum heat of 'Run' with Panik Room. Awesome work!

Review: Cru-Cast is the music platform that has rapidly expanded into the world of events, with a focus on raucous basslines across bassline, D&B and more, it's been shelling venues up and down the UK for a couple of years now. The label side is part of the same offensive and Bru-C is the soldier in command today, a grime MC who can flip between genres easier than more, a skill he shows off here on his debut LP Original Sounds. 'Snakes & Ladders' featuring Bou and Ella Knight is a highlight for sure, as the potent Bou maintains his usual prowess but this time on a lighter tip, Ella's vocals coming into play in a sick way and Bru-C's bars tying the whole thing together a flourish. Skepsis makes an appearance, as do Jamie Duggan, Chromatic, Simula and more.

Review: Following on from last week's bumper release, CruCast continue their high intensity start to 2020 with another New Blood compilation, showcasing the freshest new talent within the ever expanding bass scene. They have amassed quite the collection as they welcome the likes of Sisko, Cooky, Event Horizon, Tension and Digital Koala just to name a few. For us, this project holds a couple of immediate stand out projects however, with Namena's 'Jack In The Box' providing us with a sack of rawcus dancefloor energy within its shimmering synthesizer slaps, alongside the chomping drum smacks and unpredictable synthesizer explosions of Wheeto's 'Skull Punch'. Review: Even with the vibes within large sections of bass music shifting towards a more stripped back, tech-inspired approach, CruCast continue to remain champions of the more explosive end of the spectrum, here delivering the fourth edition of their converted 'New Blood' series. We begin with the big room EDM flavours of 'Get Out My Head' from Subshock and Evangelos, followed by the experimental bass manipulations of 'Haunted' from Sonix and classic slithering bass writhes of 'Holdup' from the super consistent Kudos. Next up, A2Z unleashes a synth heavy implosion within 'Turn It', followed by the euphoric introduction and fabulously glitchy sound design of Kitone's 'Can't Lose' and Andrsn's dancefloor-ready 'Nice & Easy' original to see out the tracklisting in style. Awesome work.

Review: When isn't it fun to see a new Skepsis release landing in the store eh? This time around he makes his way back into the CruCast forefront, delivering a vibrant collection of remixes as part of his 'Faith In Chaos' project, opening up with a sizzling VIP overhaul of 'Acid', deploying fizzing electronic synth drives right from the jump, before Window Kid's vocals on 'Lose My Mind' are given a new lick of bassy paint from WA-FU & Interupt. From here, fan-favourite: Daseplate arrives with his typically swampy rethink of 'Chain Gang', before the hissing synth designs of Turno are unleashed with his new version of 'Used To'. Serum then arrives to give a colourful lick of paint to 'Bumpa' alongside Scrufizzer, with some seriously cool synth design, followed by Disrupta's final addition, sending 'R U Ready' down a glittering spire of sonic wonder to round off this collection in style. Epic work!

Review: CruCast are on yet another fantastic run this year, doing what they do best by combining the already prominent fan bases of their more established roster, whilst also using their platform to showcase and introduce exciting new production talent. This latest project sees them put together a very exciting six track selection from some of the hottest up and comers right about now. We see returns for J69 and MPH, along with wicked rinse outs from Reese and Kuto. For us however, there are two clear stand out, with 'Get' from Papps providing a tech-inspired audible edge to the project, along with Cooky's high energy warbler in 'Work It Out'.

Review: In a crowded scene, it's important for large scale label projects such as CruCast to focus on bringing new talent through the scene, keeping the more established artists on their toes whilst injecting new levels of diversity and creativity. We here see them introduce five acts, kicking off with Xeonz who presents his electric 'World', packed with melodic energy. MPH follows with his vibrant creation entitled 'Crash', alongside Mindstate, who joins forces with Cal for 'Work'. PZP then joins the party with the vocal heavy composition of 'On You', before the gritty sub rolls of Hoda's 'Broccoli Dub' finishes up the release with a dash of finesse.

The last one was on Low Down Deep, now time for a new tag-team tear-up on the world dominating Crucast. First up, 'See Me' with Nu Elementz sets the scene with its nagging sandpaper funk bass riff before good friend and Gradient co-runner Metal Work joins for the super brutal rough-house jam 'Gradient'. Review: Following massive wallopers from the likes of Sota, Zero, Original Sin and Kanine, Crucast continue to lay down the bigroom D&B law with Formula and it's drama from the off as 'Function' whips up a storm with its brassy stabs and 'Stomping Ground' gets all feet stamping within a 50 mile radius with a similar machine gun style bass riff. Deeper into the EP we glide to find 'Vindicator', a deeper cut laced with more tension and some fantastic rolling breaks on the build. Last but not least 'Gem Shard' closes on a wonky off-key bass croak as ACP joins the party for a last minute face-melter.

Review: It's been a little while since we last heard from Mikey B, but what a way to make a return and kick off 2020 as he lands on the illustrious CruCast for a spicy four track selection. The first track that rolls into view is the title track 'White Lies', which alongside the fantastic vocal lines of Paige Eliza sees Mikey unleash an awesome display of original niche flavour with flavoursome synth melodies and choppy vocal prowess, followed up gnarly bass tones of 'No One Else' and catchy harmonic slices of 'Highs & Lows'. Finally, we finish up this wicked selection with a look at 'Commander', a grit-heavy 4x4 roller, designed to turn any dance to a ruckus. Excellent stuff!

Alongside the fantastic response to his new single with Charlie P, he teams up with CruCast here to unveil four fantastic rethinks of last year's summer smash: 'You & I'. First up, Bou arrives on the scene for an atmospheric roller-inspired rethink, before Notion steps up for rave-rejuvenating 4x4 overhaul. From here, Shapes gets involved with a seriously nostalgic organ-led garage incarnation, with a very unexpected acoustic version of the track seeing us out in time to tick all the boxes. Review: The CruCast wave kicks of 2023 in style here as the legendary bass imprint waste no time getting the party started, inviting the bulbous sounds of Jaikea in for a fiery four track collection entitled 'The Mixtape'. We open up with the popping synthetic twists of 'Model 10', an immediate steamer laced with hard hitting drum processing and a bag of punchy energy, followed by the elaborate bass designs of 'One Man', another rave-ready ruckus-inducer, topped with tidy patois vocal samples. The more nostalgic sounds of 'Gully' take us right back to the heart of speed-garage with a crunchy combo of LFO jerks and alarm-like pulses, before the swampy synthetic squelches of 'Run That 2023' give us a mucky outro, rounding of a very solid start to the year for both Jaikea & the CruCast team.

Review: The rampaging fire known collectively as CruCast rages on as the team unveil another monstrous addition to the release roster with this killer four track exploration from Cajama. The journey begins with a look into the spicy synth lead rhythms and sharp drum creations of 'Exemption', before moving into the more scatty, robotic synthetic voicings of 'Without Me'. Following this, the party just continues to amplify as the synthesis grows even more expressive across the highly energetic arrangement of 'Leave Me', before we start to the see the project draw to a close on the more stripped back, precise lfo snipes of 'Down With You'. You can expect to hear all four of these originals mashing up dances nationwide.

Review: Darksky is back on rising UK imprint Crucast with his third helping of freaky bass mutants. There's four mixes of "Whats Going On" inside: the opening Drum & Bass remix is, as you'd expect, a nutty blend of violent, nu-school jungle breaks backed by Bru C's grime slewings; Thorpey's version dissolves the groove down to a frenetic bundle of sped-up garage beats; Pelikann comes through correct with a rampant garage version of his own, this one peppered with some hardcore rave stabs; Pavv closes the EP off in fine style thanks to one final twist of bass for the dancehall. Party-loaded killers for the masses!
