Review: London label Decay is back with more tough rolling tech-house for the main room. This time courtesy of Oblack head honchos Snna and Nacho Arauz aka Los Pastores - with the Reminder EP. The bouncy title track gets a sleek makeover by Leftroom boss Matt Tolfrey, but the dark and dubby groove of "Challenger" up next, however, is the highlight. The Spanish duo enlist Igor Vicente for another rework, which takes the track down funkier, sunnier and fun-loving territory until the slamming techno of "Cap Down" closes out proceedings.
Review: London's Decay imprint can be relied upon for tough and reliable tech-house grooves, following up some great ones by the likes of Hector, Tijn and Javier Carballo. Next up is Carlos Aguilar aka IAAM from Barcelona (Music For Freaks/Flashmob) who teams up with Ibiza's Javi Bora - this guy has racked up credits on VIVa MUSiC, Robsoul, Elrow and Suara. They offer some deep and funked-up house music for sunny days on the rather rhythmic "Poseidonia", but it's all about Canadian veteran Jay Tripwire's remix wicked remix up next- which injects more dancefloor dynamics into it. The funky house sound of old (think late '90s Defected) makes a comeback on the blissful "Sunshine" until another legend of the North American scene - the one and only Doc Martin - steps in for a trippy remix.
