Hold On/Take It Slow Remixes Vol 2
Hold On (feat The Reynolds - Greg Wilson & Peza remix) - (6:25) 113 BPM Hot
Take It Slow (A Vision Of Panorama remix) - (6:02) 109 BPM
Take It Slow (feat The Reynolds - Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye remix) - (6:59) 109 BPM
Take It Slow (Nuclear Digital Transistor remix) - (5:27) 118 BPM
Review: Following the recent release of Luxxury's double A-side "Hold On"/"Take It Slow", which featured reworks from J Kriv and Crackazat, Deep & Disco presents four more remixes. Greg Wilson delivers two collaborative versions; an acid-flecked deep house-meets-disco tweak of "Hold On", and a hazy, dubby, stripped-back interpretation of "Take It Slow". Arguably the most impressive remix on the package, though, comes from Aficionado Recordings and Music For Dreams artist Vision of Panaorama, whose version of "Take It Slow" is little less than a sparkling, slow-burning Balearic delight. While it retains some elements from the original - notably the bass, guitars and live drums - the additional synths and electronics are little less than sublime.

Review: A Parisian in New York, Adeline Michele is a soul singer on a mission of ambition. Having already guested on label boss Jkriv's Deep & Disco Recordings label, she now sees her own tune, "Redo", reworked by a host of quality producers. Jkriv's own extended original is a killer slice of pulsating Moroder-esque bleepy-disco, whilst DJ Vas smoothes out the edginess for some funky cocktail house vibes. Elsewhere Dino Soccio delivers some mean soulful organic house, but the winner is Kraak & Smaaks' slow motion synth-soul re-rub that beams in straight from 1983.

Review: JKriv's Deep & Disco label have come up with a winner with this fine, vintage sounding raw disco track by contemporary Chicago act, The Right Now, remixed by a host of nu-disco regulars. The new-wave meets brass-led disco of the original, in which singer Stefanie Berecz summons the spirit of Chaka Khan, is stretched into lovely dreamy dub by Dicky Trisco and wound down into the sound of a balmy Fire Island summer night by Hot Toddy. Jkriv himself also steps up to the mark with two mixes - a bleepy house one and a sleazy Balearic 'Booty Call' mix.

Review: Founded in 2011 by producer Jkriv, Brooklyn's Deep & Disco Recordings aims to provide an outlet for all that modern disco, soul and funk that's getting made right now. This single, their latest release, is a slice of super-mellow and laid back Balearic funk awash with the breathy vocals of Miss Bee. Accompanying the original is a complete spectrum of remixes the best of which include the piano-stabbin' Studio 54isms of the Moon Boots mix, and the Miami Vice synth paradise of the Arsenii alternate mix.

Elisco (Munga 5am mix) - (6:19) 118 BPM
Review: Brooklyn-based production pals JKriv and Lou Teti join forces once again, here delivering an effortlessly casual chunk of typically NYC slacker disco. As with most of their recent work, "Elisco" carefully combines great live elements - sleepy vocals, guitars, keys and such - with a nagging boogie bassline and touchy-feely synth touches. It could certainly be described as Balearic. Remix-wise, there's plenty to get stuck into, from the low-slung bass and shiny electrofunk synths of Alphabet City's shimmering take to Sleazy McQueen's eccentric yacht rock re-wiring. There's also a nice hypnotic, vocal-heavy excursion from Space Ranger that's well worth a listen.

Another Night (Matthew Kyle mix) - (7:21) 108 BPM
Another Night (Dicky Trisco & Project Tempo re-dub) - (8:02) 107 BPM
Review: Fast-rising New York disco/house producer JKriv launches his brand new Deep & Disco label here, with a slinky and sophisticated chunk of vocal deep house. While there are definite disco and electrofunk touches, "Another Night" is a wholehearted deep house rub that should find favour with anyone who likes a little dash of sensuality. There's a whole raft of remixes to enjoy, too, from Greg Wilson's epic, stripped-back deep house extension to Dicky Trisco & Project Tempo's low-slung re-dub. Check, too, Matthew Kyle's version, which pits heavy boogie back-end against midtempo filter house to great effect.
