Review: As always, the Deep, Dark & Dangerous crew are out in full force with this latest drop, welcoming the ever-ready sounds of Isded inside for four swampy stompers, destined to set dances alight in the murkiest of settings. We open up with the haunted LFO slams of 'Dig It', a super potent roller that leads us nicely into the hypnotic sub designs of the title track 'Swang', setting the tone nicely across the first half of the EP. from here, thing get even more minimal as the creeping melodies and clunky percussive pips of 'El Affair' give us another smokey backdrop to admire, before the hyper-wonky synth work of 'Shitfire' closes off the EP with a blast. Another collection of heaters for the DD&D crew.

Review: Now this is a spicy link up indeed as the heavyweight production techniques of Truth are joined by the vocal innovation of PAV4N, delivering four spicy originals, courtesy of the stalwart Deep Dark & Dangerous imprint. First up, UK legend Saskilla stops by for a guest verse on 'Brave New World', sitting atop a murky undergrowth of sweating subs and crunchy snare swipes. After that killer introduction, we then take in the choppy drum switch-ups of 'Pythons', a synth heavy dazzler that again sees PAV4N impress, before Ashez throws some additional flare into the mix across the more scattered 'Online Overdose'. Review: The Deep Dark & Dangerous train continues to bluster forward, cascading through all in its path and delivering on its journey a continued top quality run of original dubstep flavour. This time around, we jump right into the heart of raucousness as Sling Wave firstly unloads a brain-melting clip of ammunition in 'Jabber Jaws', a title track focussing on uber-gnarly synth growls that is sure to knock your socks off. Next, 'Marrow' unloads a molten belch of grizzly synth pops, with the dramatic strings and unpredictable bass programming of 'Yeuk' in hot pursuit. Finally, Hotwheel unloads a spacious display of drippy percussion to close the EP off with a slice of something slightly different.

Leaping left, right and centre across the full spectrum of dubstep ideals, Leo has cultivated a truly magnificent collection, from the aquatic sub work of 'Don't Move' and mind-bending sub sweeps of 'Underground Business', to the sub-busting bass marches of 'Step Off' and more rhythm-inspired percussion of 'Music That You Like'. It's a truly top quality collection, with our individual highlights including the super-abstract bass designs and vocal sampling of 'No Matter How Far', next to the pulsating bass warbles of 'Same Different' and raucous LFO designs of Manchesta Dem Boy'. Review: What an awesome link up we have here, diving headfirst into the tranquil waters of abstractivity on Deep Dark & Dangerous, who welcome the top notch combination of Hypho, Abstrakt Sonance & Megumi Hope inside for a saucy selection of trippy originals. The main centrepiece of this EP is of course the blissful vocal prowess of Megumi Hope, who opens up the party with a wistful sweeping performance on 'My Mind', behind which we of course hear the production-lead genius of Hypho & Sonance ring true, Next 'What Is Freedom' explores more eastern-inspired percussive melodies and an overall more unpredictable feel from Hypho & Sonance's production pallet, with 'Brave' then being a more triplet-inspired rhythmic roller, focusing on sitar-driven harmonies to match. Finally, the slightly slowed drumlines and more ethereal backdrops of 'Maya' give us a ghostly closer, rounding off this awesome collection in style.

Review: As always with Wraz, the wrath is evident as he once again returns to the unstoppable force of Deep Dark & Dangerous, delivering an earth shattering collection of subby weapons, perfect for dancefloor action. First up, 'Bashee' delivers a gut-wrenching punch of saturating bass growls and scuttling drum runs, before the glitchy melodic twitches of 'Mare' and the ground-rumbling synthesiser pulses of 'Swarm' up the pressure to the next level in successive fashion. From here, a more LFO-driven stutter as 'Akuma', this project's title track, delivers a shimmering fusion of crunchy bitcrushed goodness, with the dungeon-ready percussion of 'Doomed' then closing the EP off in style. Review: The incredible run that both The Deep Dark & Dangerous crew and Khiva as a standalone artist have been on of late is worthy of serious applause, with this new four track collection once again showing the domination of both entities within the dubstep space. First up, the bone chilling vocal delays and warm bass pressure of 'Prophetic Silence' leads the way with a truly other-worldly feel, followed by the more eerie melodic backdrops of 'Ephemeral'. We then take in 'Rapture', another mechanical stomper, packed with crunchy synths and lethal drum punches, with 'Satellite' then providing one final subby swamp, clouded with more catchy vocal riffs to see out the EP in style.

We open up with the breaks infused twists and sizzling low ended manoeuvres of 'The Grouch', which also packs a synthy punch across the midrange, before SEEK joins the party for a reese-heavy sweep through 'Lose Ur Mind', another raucous original. Review: Distinct Motive meeting the crew at Deep Dark & Dangerous is many a dubstep fanatic's dream, with this exuberant four track slam being another crazy combination of futuristic steppers energy. First up, the warbling subs and minimal drum structures of 'Blueberry' kick us off in style, linking together squelching synth bites and steadily oscillating subs for a very unique arrangement. Review: Truth are a dubstep-driven phenomenon, there's no getting away from it, both from within their work as Deep Dark & Dangerous, but also from a production point of view. That is why the great and good of the genre have joined together in celebrating the explosive group with a heavy-hitting remix collection, allowing a blissful collection to be assembled. When we say heavy hitting, we really mean it, with the likes of Cartridge, ENiGMA Dubz, Abstract Sonance, Kodama, Taiko, Biome and more all stepping forward, with a total of 32 remixes being included at the final count. Now, if you have 139 minutes, we would of course suggest taking in this masterpiece in its full majesty, but for a quick preview of the brilliance it includes, we would recommend quick peaks at Sukh Knight's explosive 'Shire Dub' rethink, both the sub-busting sweeps of Wraz.'s and the subtle beauty of Oxossi's 'Scarecrow' overhauls, and of course Boylan's gut puncher of a remix of 'Strange Dreams'. Review: Whenever Deep Dark and Dangerous unravel the LP red carpet, they don't seem to miss, this time welcoming the enigmatic Widow inside for seven sumptuous delights. We open up with Rider Shafique's cameo, giving us a dreamy vocal display atop 'Shadow Work', a sub-slamming sweep through distant strings and hard hitting bass action, followed by the reversed, eastern-inspired melodics of 'Flow State' and cluttered percussive crescendos of 'Dangerous'. A heavy pot of syncopation then appears as 'Alien Life Form' sends us into a trippy steppers daze, with the subtle jungle rhythms of 'Frequencies' and emotive melodic grooves of 'Devil Dancing' alongside Mac in close pursuit. Review: It's always an exciting thing to see a new Deep Dark & Dangerous project hit our shelves, especially when they are headed up by ENiGMA Dubz, one of the UK's most consistent sonic masterminds, especially within the field of 140. This project kicks off with the incredibly swampy synth textures and crunchy drum crashes of 'Belphegor', a real monster of a riddim to kick off proceedings. From here, 'Severed' then rears its subby head, doused in gnarly LFO splutters and sharp snare slaps, with 'Pressuring' then delivering a system-ready punch of low ended lava alongside NotL?, upping the energy levels significantly. Finally, the creeping melodies and subtle synthy pads of 'Surfacing' close out this project, which is sure to cause a ruckus or three when it lands in a dancefloor setting!

Review: To start the year off with a bang the Deep Dark & Dangerous crew have pulled out all the stops with this latest drop, welcoming the enigmatic production mastery of Hypho inside for a sizzling six track showdown. The Manchester veteran firstly launches 'Access Denied', a crunchy steppers delight, unleashing tidy drum processing and hard hitting bass action, before Rakjay arrives with a typically tidy vocal addition of 'That Vibration', a swampy slap that will turn any dance to a ruckus. Next, Donnie Danko jumps aboard for the haunted backdrops and lethal low-ends of 'Voodoo Ish', with the bubbling melodic jolts and subtle subby warbles of 'Dingle Bat' following in close pursuit. Review: As always with a brand new Deep Dark & Dangerous compilation drop, the team are on absolute fire as they summon the great and good of the dubstep scene together for a frankly outstanding original collection. Celebrating their 100th official release, they impressed with the team sheet from the jump, inviting the likes of Truth, Youngsta, NType, Hypho, Cartridge, Oxossi and a bag of more heavyweight headliners to match. The whole project is stacked, featuring 24 rave-inspired sizzlers, giving us the grittiest and gnarliest of what dubstep has to offer in 2022. For us, despite the overall quality level of this collection being so high, we would point out a few absolute monsters as our highlights, with the horn-driven clunks and warbling LFO switches of 'Mecha' from The Widdler & ColtCuts immediately jumping out, next to the dungeon-ready percussion of Roklem & Sebalo's 'Inner Turmoil' and the eerie melodic mastery of Leon Switch & Widow's 'Fallen Angels'.

Review: The Deep Dark & Dangerous team have always shown a lot of respect for the Ternion Sound boys, who once again return in blistering form with this super crunchy collection. First up, 'Clutch' takes the title role, formulating metal-infused guitar synths and aerated backdrops, before the unorthodox sound design of 'Tralfamadore' sends us down an entirely different side-street of syncopated madness. From here, the tap dancing melodic dips of 'Let Me Out' are unleashed across a seriously eerie backdrop, before we trip and slide into another ditch of delightful unorthodox synthesiser design, as high pitched LFO's are left to run wild a top a mean sub line and delicate drum textures. Review: Whenever we see that Deep Dark & Dangerous have returned we find ourselves filled with happiness, as they this time welcome the combined abilities of Coltcuts & Abstrakt Sonance inside for a glittering four-track display. We open up with the wooden percussive plucks and choppy drum falls of 'Genetic Code', which gives us a unique introductory arrangement before the more wobbly LFO action of 'Hard Work' sends us into a vat of acidic enjoyment. Next the pulsating bass smashes of 'Placebo' give us a truly unique creation, dripping in syncopated swampy rhythms, with Trigga's wicked vocal addition of 'Double Murder' giving us a haunted outro track, again laced with brass-driven musicality and an overall eerie feel. Review: After a very brief break, The Deep Dark & Dangerous team are back in action once again, welcoming Chef Boyarbeatz inside for a four track display of dubstep dominance. We open up with the super sharp snare slams and dizzying bass distortions of 'The Power Of Sound', which keeps the listener guessing from start to finish. From here, 'Cruise Control' then let's fly a rave-busting selection of subs and reesey twitches, again keeping the unpredictability of the project on an all time high, with the more high ended synthesiser drifts of 'Steady Slurkin'' then upping the intensity once again with a breaks-intertwined drum set. Finally, the tripletted rhythms and warbling sub pressures of 'Signal Dub' give us one final slice of dubwise goodness before the EP comes to a halt. Awesome work!

Review: As one of the longest standing active outfits in dubstep music, it's always exciting to see new music landing from Truth, who have here delivered a stunning four track display. Focussing immediately on the title track 'Afterlife', we find ourselves washed in stunning soundscaping, subtle vocal processing and digital backdrops for a truly joyous introduction. Next, more blissful arrangements as 'Scarecrow' unleashes an eerie combination of chiming melody and fluttering percussion, next to the gnarly bass drives and slightly satanic vocal harmonies of 'Shire Dub', which again ups the energy levels. Finally, 'Lost In Time' gives us a serious ripper, focussing on minimal drum strikes and emphatic synth swipes, rounding off this project with a real dash of finesse.

Review: Now this is a collection we can tell has been in the making for a hot minute, as Vandull, one of Nottingham's finest mic controllers, steps up on Deep Dark & Dangerous for four original dubstep vocals. We begin with the super-stuttered percussive chops and eastern-inspired woodwind of 'Shh' alongside Hypho, which does the job of kicking the EP off with a high energy level. From here, Angelic Root arrives to provide the super unorthodox instrumental backdrop of 'Red Moon', within which we hear Vandull's vocals sent through a serious amount of processing with some wicked results, before Cartridge ups the pace on the half-time drives of 'Soulsearch', allowing Vandull to explore a different range of performance styles. Finally, Katch steps up on production duty for 'DUM', a haunted combination of dissonant synthetics and warbling LFO splutters, giving us a very fun outro track to this wicked collection.

Today however, we see them jump sideways into the arena of grime with this titanic display of 140 flavour from Onhell, showcasing some serious heat. From the intense bass pulses of 'Holy Death' to the dissonant piano swipes of 'Piano Worship' and metallic synth grinds of 'The Rake It Up Riddim', we see a full spectrum of 140 music explored with this vibrant album drop. Review: Following on from an incredibly successful 2021, the Deep Dark & Dangerous crew have started this year with a real no holds barred attitude, unleashing firstly this monstrous display of dubstep power from Mesck. We begin with 'Terror Management', a swampy tredge through gnarly reese textures and haunting bell-driven melodies, exactly what the doctor ordered. From here, we find ourselves face to face with a swarm of sizzling bass pulses, set to knock any block off on 'Lithium Vision', before delivers a slightly more tame display of organic drum impacts and distorted reesey sweeps, again topped with eerie, dissonant harmonics for an extra wow factor. Finally, 'Canto IX' arrives for a final gutpunch, driving forward with one of the gnarliest lead basslines we have heard in a hot minute, rounding off this EP with a serious dash of flare.

First up, 'Lemon & Cognac' unleashes a grizzly combination of gnarly synth swipes and eerie vocal samples to kick us off in style, before 'Los Angeles' takes the sound back to the essence with a jumpy, percussive-lead roller, packed with tasty distortion and shimmering shakers. Next, the wicked vocal lines of Julia Marks join the party for a hypnotic dive into sweeping synthesizer textures on 'Our Best Trip', followed by a lo-fi coated cave dweller in 'Flavour', a serious title track. Therefore, when you pair him with producers with as much firepower as Regents & Cartridge, you know you are in for a treat. The project is simply outstanding, to put it plainly, covering the full breadth of the modern dubstep sound from the aquatic synthy sweeps of 'Pages' and subtle keys of 'Unlearn', to system busting sub-eese combinations of 'You'll See' and haunted structures of 'Transition' with the magnificent vocals of Lelijveld. It's a work of mastery and pure precision, with some additional highlights including the gorgeous, string-lead soundscapes of 'Something Missing', the constantly evolving growls of 'Love' and lip-curling melodies of 'Alethia'. Review: It's rare that we find ourselves disappointed with a Deep Dark & Dangerous release, who appear to be able to do no wrong at the moment, a feeling amplified by this magnificent display from Konka. We begin with the dungeon-ready bass growls and warbling low-ended displays of 'Annix', which sets the tone for the EP pretty quickly. Next, the bass-bin-bending synthesizer blows of 'Plane Shifter' unleash a monstrous display of sonic power, before the alien-like reese tones of the title track 'War With The Devil' continue the dungeon-ready theme. From here, the sharpened drum processing of 'Scavenger' gives us a refreshing switch up, without losing any of that sub-bass potency, before 'This Sound' delivers a rib cage-rattling finale, rounding off a seriously impressive display.

Review: As soon as we saw that Enigma Dubz had again teamed up with the Deep Dark & Dangerous family, we knew we were in for a treat. This tidy new five track display sees the veteran producer perform at his dubstep optimum, kicking off with the gnarly synth growls and haunted percussive delays of 'Area 51'. Next, the vibrant soundscaping, stunning vocal chops and sweeping synthetic flavours of 'Into The Ground' give us something a lot more emotive before 'The Cosmos' gifts us glittering pads and power sub-pulses below. Finally we finish up with two more heaters, with 'No Sleep' giving us a trippy dive into the edge of a more wave-influenced sound, before the crunchy percussion and heavily syncopated synth melodies of 'Tunnel Vision' put the cherry on the cake.

Review: Through his numerous different avenues of musical influence, it's hard to stay away from the incredible progression we have been seeing from Hypho, who here takes a trip across the sea for a naughty four track display on Deep Dark & Dangerous. From the off we can tell we are in for a serious treat with this one as we firstly jump into 'Dust Of The Devil', inside which Hypho deploys a lethal selection of potent bass designs and sharpened drum textures for the fantastic Slowie to run wild over. From here, 'Dirty Water' provides a system-ready combo of punchy kick-sub combos for Strategy to provide the vocal fire, followed by the swampy textures of 'Sufferin', alongside a stunning vocal display from the magnificent 'Megumi'. Finally, Xakra & Finnoh join the party for the marching kick bounces and intense sublines of 'Stellar Transit', which rounds this top notch selection off with a serious bang.

We begin our journey into this one with a dip into the lethal reese design and earth-shattering drum slaps of 'The Joker', followed by 'Boxed', a sublow creeper, jam-packed with eerie atmospheric pressure and powerful bass energy. Review: Following on from a fabulous year of releases, Deep Dark & Dangerous are back at it again, this time unveiling Oxossi's brand new drop, featuring five sumptuous sizzlers. We begin with the shimmering rhythms and bulgining bass pulses of 'Sweat' which injects the project with energy right from the off, before the organic percussive sampling and sweeping, detuned horn-lines of 'Magdelena' give us something very different indeed. Next 'Morbid Impulses' delivers a combination of smashing drum slaps and eastern melody, before the more mellow composition and shaker-lead rhythms of 'Sosa' again steer the EP in a completely different direction. We then finish up with the Lo-fi drum processing and spooky melodic synthesis of 'Dead Thorns' which puts one final twist in the tale of this fabulous selection.

Review: It's been a brief minute since we last took in a brand new release from the legendary Truth trio, who we are pleased to see returning to their home imprint of Deep Dark & Dangerous for a lively five track expanse. We begin with the title track 'Neptune', a jittering collection of delicate synths and punchy kick patterns, glued together with an array of glittering reese tones. Next, 'Psychological' sees Lelijveld get involved with some stunning vocal additions, giving us some incredible soundscaping mastery before the grizzly atmospherics and glitchy manoeuvres of 'Lost' take us somewhere completely different. From here, 'Shrouds' supplies us with a much more aquatic sounding creation, linking crunchy percussion with volatile bass tones, before we round off with 'Earthlings', a big synth system-buster, stuffed with hypnotic energy and terrifying horn stabs to see us out in style!

Review: The consistency at which the Deep Dark & Dangerous team continue to move is up there with the best in the world right about now, as they unveil this fabulous new four track experiment from Isded. The EP kicks off with a weighty introduction as 'Fear' combines spooky woodwind lines with a minimalist drum crunches and a potent sub pulse below for some magical results. From here, the warbling begins properly as 'Abysmal' lets loose a swampy LFO line, followed by the stripped back bass pressure and bright drum slaps of 'No Gimmick'. Finally, 'Milk' sees Isded really let loose, this time beefing up the drum lines for an incredibly punchy arrangement, topped with some world famous meme-sampling and an alarm-line synthesizer that carries the track perfectly.

Review: The Deep Dark & Dangerous team really do have a top knack for spotting and crafting high end releases, with this brand new 'Ishtar' album from Abstrakt Sonance being yet another winner. Featuring 17 incredible originals, it's a masterpiece of 140 themes and dubstep influences, from the grizzling reeses of 'Mindstate' and subtle sitar slides of 'From Wallah With Love' to the percussive brilliance of 'Beautiful Time To Be Alive' and system ready sub-marches of 'Deep In The Jungle'. There's just so much to enjoy throughout the project, including some high end collaborations, which sees the likes of D Double E, Killa P, Long Range, Crowell, Vandull and EniGMA Dubz all get involved with top quality contributions.

Review: It's always an exciting moment to open up our new releases box and find a tasty new addition from the Deep Dark & Dangerous team. They unveil four vibrant new sizzlers from Widow here, kicking off with the dungeon drum reverberations and gnarly, almost barking reese textures of 'Widow'. Next, the stripped back, eerie nature of 'Portal' and super syncopated rhythmic displays of 'The Labyrinth' give a whole extra dimension to the release before moving into our epic finale by way of 'Serpent's Tongue'. This is a subby warbler, driven by its well thought out atmospheric bad work and hard hitting low end, perfect for the system!

Review: There really does seem to be no way of stopping the Deep Dark & Dangerous onslaught once they hit their stride, as Coltcuts returns for yet another incredible four track selection, kicking off with the sweeping string lines and clunky drum smashes of the title track 'The Haunting'. The spooky vibes remain apparent as we move forward into the warbling LFO pulses of 'Concrete' which work in tandem with a layer of dissonant string swipes before 'Passage Of Arms' strips it back to a good old wobble, kick & snare combo. Finally, 'Skrrrt' unleashes the horns of Valhalla, strapped onto an epic soundscape, complete with blasting bass tones and glittering atmospheric inputs. What a drop this is!

Review: Truth is on Deep, Dark and Dangerous for an EP that's, well, deep, dark and dangerous. That doesn't quite do the range of sounds and styles on this release full justice, however, as Truth stretches his legs across shuddering halftime, funky jungle and fluid rollers. 'Eyes On Me' is especially delectable, as a haunting vocal sample shimmers up into full view and perches above a juke-influenced, stepping halftime beat that strides out across the full track. 'Heartbreak' is a faster, heavier number that lends some heft to the release, whilst 'Pass Me By' is a lovely, soulful liquid number. This is one for the heads.

Review: It is genuinely very difficult to keep pace with everything that the Deep Dark & Dangerous team have been up to, following on from three mega compilations and an awesome release last week, they return to business with another weighty selection from ONHELL. He delivers a monstrous EP for us all to enjoy, featuring eleven original subby rollers under the title 'Grime Beats Vol. 1'. We can most certainly hear the grimey influences rolling through, from the grizzly square leads of 'Airplane Beat', to the trappy rhythms of 'Cold Bitch Type Beat'. The project is a mighty success, with favourites including the swampy textures of 'Wolf And The Cub' and of course the speaker busting basslines of '21X Riddim'. Awesome work!

Review: So let us get this right, following on from three weeks of incredible compilations, the DD&D team are back literally a week later with another corker? Incredible. They continue their outstanding run here via the silky sounds of Khiva, who firstly pushes forward the electronic brilliance of 'Chuckles Revenge', a metallic warbler switching between subtle sub pounds and big room synth slaps. On the flip 'From The Dirt' unleashes a more stripped back design, packing no less potency however as more grizzly wobbles are let loose amidst well place vocal samples!

Review: Part three is upon us as Deep Dark & Dangerous unveil the final piece of the puzzle in their latest release line with 'Dangerous', showcasing the most rawcus sounds on their roster. The line up for this one is sublime, with heavyweight names such as CITY1, Ternion Sound, Lost, Dank Frank, DayZero and SubDocta all being drafted in to showcase their unique skill sets. The project as a whole bleeds creativity and musical innovation, with particular points of interest coming in DMVU's incredibly swampy 'Dem Fi Kno' original, which unleashes a wash of pungent synthesizer sweeps and impactful percussive inputs, alongside the unpredictable electronic brilliance of 'Arc' from Computerbeats. This compilation series has been truly magnificent to take in and is a real testament to the DD&D commitment to pushing dubstep forward.

Review: Following on from last week's release of 'Deep', the Deep Dark & Dangerous crew continue their 'Trilogy' series with the second edition: 'Dark'. They have again assembled one heck of a line up for this one, welcoming in the sounds of Enigma Dubz, Leon Switch, Khiva and Pushloop just for starters. The project is a perfect encapsulation of the darker side of the DD&D discography, with a couple of immediate standouts being 'The Devil In Disguise', which sees JLEON and Outsider link up for an incredibly spooky harmonic thrill ride, alongside Brassic's 'Footsoldier', which deploys a regiment of lethal horn stabs to turn any rave into a ruckus!

Review: It appears, to nobody's surprise, that Ternion Sound have gone and done it again, landing on the dubstep behemoth: Deep Dark & Dangerous for a scrumptious four track offering. We begin with a dive into the incredibly punchy drum work and eerie melodic twists of the title track 'Know Thyself', followed my the more harmonic journey of 'Hallowed'. The drum design throughout this EP is pretty flawless, with the scattered marching rhythms of 'Ah Fer Fuck' giving us a real injection of energy before 'They're Coming' deploys a monstrously mighty set of bass tones and percussive manoeuvres to round things off nicely.

Review: Despite the fact that traditionally, winter remains somewhat of a slumberous period for the electronic music industry, the Deep Dark & Dangerous contingent spare no time getting back to what they do best, which is releasing heavyweight dubstep flavour. They here invite Coltcuts inside to deliver two tracks of pure fire, kicking off with the warbling electronic bass drives of 'Thank The Lord', which possesses a pretty damned demonic feeling throughout. On the flip side, '100% Herb' gives us something very different as twisted, mystic melodic structures writhe uncontrollably amidst sharp, whipping drum slaps and eerie atmospheric design. Excellent work!

Review: It's always a thrill to see what Deep Dark & Dangerous have in the locker as they here unveil their latest acquisition, handing the floor over to Pushloop who touches down with four tracks of sublime quality, We kick off with the title track 'Loose Wires', which utilizes some incredibly squidgy percussion to give the track a real swampy texture, followed by the rawcus LFO's and demonic chord structures of 'Spicy Grilled Cheese'. We kick off our delvings into this one with a sampling of the lethal title track 'Desert Tales', an original laced with emotive eastern string patterns and some hard hitting horn explosions, followed by the fluttering flutey introduction and pulsating 808 driven breakdowns of 'Triflow'. Next, we take a peek at the warbling LFO creations of 'Alienist' which writhes away above yet more lethal bass synthesis, before we finish up with the haunted atmospheric pressures and gnarly low end tonality of 'Viper'.

For us, JLeon here delivers one of the projects of the year, kicking off with the truly incredible production values of 'XasAjj', an original stacked with explosive sub designs and colourful percussive twists. Next, the dubwise twists and turns of 'Quetzal', followed by the incredible bass swings and crunchy snare snaps of the title track 'Boruca Mask'. Review: We are always excited to see a new release from the Deep Dark & Dangerous camp hit the shelves, and their latest offering most certainly doesn't let us down as we embrace the forward thinking sounds of Distinct Motive. This is definitely a unique selection, with the wonky, super syncopated swings of 'Loose Pimp' leading the way before we jump into the dubwise Asian fusions of 'Crazy'. Next up, we take a look into 'Itchy Fingers', which again uses a super unique lead synthesizer sound to provide the early energy, before descending into glitchy, gritty madness later on. Finally, we look at the title track 'Radar' and most certainly not disappointed as it's hypnotic, swampy lead bass loops and bleeping atmospherics put the finishing touches on the whole project nicely.

Review: What an incredible project we have here, as Samba makes a champion return alongside the vastly respected Deep Dark & Dangerous imprint across four more absolute heaters under the EP title 'Kings'. We begin with a look at the charming 8bit flutters and softened harmonies of the title track 'Kings' before taking a dive into the deeper and darker with urgent scattered woodwind melodies and breathy chorus lines of 'Paleluv'. The following track we examine is entitled 'Explain' and barges its way into the centre of the project with rawcus lead synths, slicing through all in their path, before we round up this impressive body of work with the eastern inspired melodic lines and hard hitting bass instrumentation of 'Haru'.
