Review: It appears that the Deep Heads team have put together quite an impressive selection here as they welcome the incredible Escapism Refuge inside for a full length album project, spanning 16 stunning original creations. The most important thing to remember when exploring the concept of a dubstep album, is to remain as expansive as possible, which is exactly what has happened here. From the delicate harmonic structures of 'Red Lights' and 'Moon Cake' to the jittering percussive flickers of 'Traps' and high energy electronic drum thumps of 'Growing', we see such a vast area of the dubstep spectrum covered with great levels of quality and aptitude. If you can find the time, this project makes so much sense to take in as a full long-play, but if you are looking for the instant highlights, the stunning soundscaping and tap dancing rhythms of 'Over Time' along with the glittering pad designs of 'Lost Water' both stand out as seriously cool creations.

Review: It would appear that the Deep Heads team have unearthed a bag of precious gems with this one as they welcome the enigmatic sounds of eeph to the table for four tracks of steppers-inspired wizardry. We begin with the scattered percussive ditherings and emotive piano textures or 'You Gotta Feel It On Your Own', before the luscious soundscaping and sharpened drum crunches of 'Don't Come Back', arrive with a level of undeniable divinity. Next, 'No Excuse' utilizes more hypnotic melodic structure and organic percussion to deliver an eerie yet heavenly composition, topped off by Nori's stunning vocal display. Finally, the drippy guitar licks and aquatic drum sounds of 'Leave The Right Way' give us the perfect finale for a pretty impeccable body of work.

Review: Well following on from a number of impressive dubstep events across the full spectrum of the scene, The Deep Heads team have matched that all with this incredible new compilation as they deliver the third edition of their incredible 'Deep Heads' series. This star-studded lineup is pretty breath-taking, with the likes of Kromestar, Biome, Om Unit, Sukh Knight, Synkro & more all delivering some serious bassweight. The tracklisting is made up of 24 wicked originals, with our favourites actually coming from some of the lesser established faces on the project. These include the likes of Mystic State's sumptuous 'Society' original alongside Astrid, which boasts serious 'Anti-Social' vibes. As well as this, the more stripped back, garage influenced drums of Clubroot's 'Harmony' and dancing percussion of 'Traps' from Escapism Refuge also sit as highlight picks for us!

Review: Over the years, Synkro has become pretty synonymous with the more experimental side of dubstep music, often infusing numerous different elements of garage and techno into his sounds to create an incredible array of exciting rhythmic designs. This brand new album project is the perfect way to showcase what we mean, featuring 19 tracks of pure creative bliss. From the bouncing drum grooves of 'Get Down' and punching synth kicks of 'Angels', through to the dubwise delights of 'Dub Specialist, we see Synkro explore so many different avenues of sound with this project, it's a genuine pleasure to behold, and that's before we even get into the fantastic selection of remixes. For us, highlights include the stunning percussive mastery of 'Lost For Words', alongside the beautiful vocal edits of 'Tell Me' and introspective pad textures of 'If Only'. Incredible stuff.

Review: Now we find ourselves stumbling across something very special with this one as the impeccable Mercy delivers a stunning 11 track album, showcasing the very best of alternative underground dance music. From the stunning synthy sweeps of 'Kids In Pools' to the tap dancing disco of 'Feeling You, Feeling Me' and crunchy drum expressions of 'All I Need', we witness mastery at work throughout the album as a whole. If we were to pick out a couple of highlights to check out, it would be difficult, but would most likely settle on the celestial melodies and delicate drums of 'Panels Of Freight', alongside the smooth pad-driven harmonies of 'On My Mind', alongside Audialist. Amazing work.

Review: It was back in 2012 that Congi debuted on the Deep Heads label with three cuts of classic dubstep, and with the likes of Kromestar, Syncro to Ash Walker in between contributing titles, the Congi duo double down on their 2019 Somnium release with a sweetly atmospheric, jazzed and dub-focused third release, Sometimes Forever. With reflections of pitch-shifted, post-dubstep styled vocals sweetening up the lush textures of crackle and bass in the title-track, find some playful, R&B-esque and emo-tuned melodies in the spacious arrangements of "Cold Water". "Thoughts" delivers the EP with a long winding deep house and ambient jazz number while "Interlude" provides a dense and opulent beatless bonus track for the storytellers out there.

Review: Next up from the Deep Heads team, we welcome this tasty new selection from the one and only Audialist, a Swedish producer who is starting to bring his incredibly unique sound to the centre of the dubstep sphere. Through the sunshine chords of 'Serpent', clicking percussion of 'Keep Turning' and incredibly clean bass manoeuvres of 'Dead', he kicks this project off with a real touch of finesse. We then lean into the stunning harmonics of 'Urban Surfer', the dubwise drum and sub combos of 'Sleep It, Eat It, Drink It' and shimmering pad textures of 'Gone' to round off the original creations. He then gets busy of remix duty, giving a spacy UKG rethink to 'Same Kind' from Congi, Occult & Segilola, as well an unbelievable techy overhaul of Congi's 'Mesopotamia' and a highly rhythmic redesign of 'Memento' from Rat. Audialist is most certainly a name to watch in the coming months.

Review: For this latest selection of excellence from the Deep Heads movement, we are again introduced to Geode, a producer with a serious point to prove as he unleashes twelve tracks of stunning steppers quality. From the techy drum manoeuvres of 'Oblong' to unpredictable melodies of 'Phi' and high energy rhythms of 'Lark Ascending', this release packs something for any dubstep fan! For us there are two clear standouts, the first of which comes to us through the mesmeric harmonies of 'Jade', alongside the crispy minimalism of 'Ruh', in collaboration with C Tivey. Awesome work!

Review: We are very excited to dive head first into this one as we are joined by the stunning vocal ability and musical prowess of Zeb Samuels for a brand new album project entitled 'Hope & Light'. On first impressions, the album is a fantastic display of harmonic understanding, with Zeb heavily focusing on striking electronic layers vocal bliss, with incredibly smooth backing orchestration from start to finish, being primarily made up of fluffy, hypnotizing pad textures and minimalist drum work. It's a fantastic body of work, really showcasing Zeb's unique take on downtempo themes, with particular highlights including the moody chord structures and spacey reverberations of 'A Road Never Found', along with the super catchy riffs and more up-beat rhythms of 'Brightness'. Awesome stuff from start to finish!
