Review: Atomic Moog, the French production duo and live act, makes an impressive debut on the Delsin Cameron series with their Programm EP. Having navigated the deep techno landscape since about 2015, they have consistently delivered affective dancefloor techno for labels like Lowless, Subosc, and Monument. In their latest venture with Delsin, Atomic Moog unveils the next chapter of their modular exploration, with tracks on this EP showcasing a masterful blend of sub-heavy beats, pulsating rhythms and spaced-out atmospheres. Classic deep techno like it should be.

1 2 Butterfly - (4:12) 155 BPM
Review: Those with a preference for the deeper end of techno and ambient will find much to love on Sub-Sonar. From the beautiful beatless opening track, "Looking Outside" to the evocative, dubbed out groove of "Liberate Truth", nthng's return to Delsin after a long hiatus is characterised by a tendency towards spaced out melodies and slow-paced tempos. On occasion, that approach changes - as is the case on the crisp break beats of "1, 2 Butterfly", but even this exception is punctuated by shimmering melodic hooks. Otherwise, as the dreamy, textured title track demonstrates, this is tailor made for fans of slow-burning atmospheric electronic music.

Scour down the list and you'll find bonus numbers from the likes of Forest Drive West with his classic rhythmic style to headliners like BNJMN, Natural & Electronic.system and WAV, aka Wata Igarashi & Voiski! Intrigues include amethia recordings purge Varuna, all time classic John Beltran (in "Euphoric Dream Ocean") and cosmic broken beat experiments from Wladimir M (think Planet E and Evo Lute). Furthermore, find tracks from electro wizz CiM and go deeper into italian-style techno variations with VC-118A's "Crunch" and of course some OG electro from Delsin legend Versalife. Review: After a series of releases for Delsin, including their 2017 debut album, Robin Koek and Nick Lapien aka Artefakt get the remix treatment on the label. First up is an inspired choice, Forest Drive West, who turns the title track from their debut Delsin EP, The Fifth Planet, into a dreamy, droning stepper. Evigt Morker is tapped for a version of the same track and delivers a droning, rolling techno groove that stretches out to infinity and beyond. "Tapeloop", from their Kinship long player morphs into a dense, droning workout thanks to Polar Inertia's touch, while Valentino Mora brings the release to a reflective conclusion with a teased out, atmospheric take on "The Blue Hour".

Review: Legendary and highly sought after EP by Midwest trio Indio, originally released on British imprint Rhythmic Tech in 2008, after a terrific debut on Derrick May's seminal Transmat imprint in 1999. Comprised of Detroit innovator John Beltran with shadowy Chicago producer Steve Mcqueen and vocalist Seth Taylor, the Inca EP features some of the trio's finest moments. Whereas the original featured three versions of the title track, only the main version appears here - an energetic serving of good ol' fashioned hi-tech soul. In addition is the sensual deepness of "Winter Long" and its intricate syncopated rhythms, and the absolutely timeless and emotive "Blue Fantasy" - undoubtedly the EPs highlight. You just don't hear techno like this anymore. Props to Delsin for finally making this essential release available to all once again.

Review: Classic Norken EP from 2000 repressed on Delsin. Lee Norris went by alises such as Man-Q-Neon, or Nacht Plank and particularly became known with his releases as Metamatics - through the now defunct Clear label and is now running his label Neo Ouija. This EP features four tracks continuing the style of his previous releases as Norken, consisting of soulful and broken techno sounds like on opener "Home" through to gorgeous minimal deep house on "Walk" or "Fern".

Turn To Gaia
Oralage - (5:45) 128 BPM Hot
A Souls Search - (8:24) 138 BPM
Turn To Gaia - (9:34) 124 BPM
Review: Nthng has just released his debut album on Lobster Theremin, but that hasn't affected his productivity as he debuts on Delsin. Like his long player, Gaia shows that he is adept at covering a range of styles. "Oralage" is a lean, linear affair, led by ticking, steely percussion and tough drums. It's atypical for the Dutch label, but soon afterwards, the Amsterdam producer moves into more familiar dreamy ambience on the expansive "A Souls Search". The most impressive track is "Gaia" itself: revolving around a chugging groove, dense, metallic drums and cavernous sound effects, it feels like Nthng has effortlessly reinvented the Basic Channel dub techno blueprint.

Untitled 2 - (6:47) 126 BPM
Untitled 3 - (6:31) 128 BPM Hot
Untitled 4 - (6:40) 87 BPM
Review: Having recently debuted on Black Venison with a much-admired EP, Route 8 man Gergely Szilveszter Horvath brings his Q3A project to Delsin. As with that previous excursion, Space Chamber is a decidedly intergalactic affair, with the producer fusing elements associated with Detroit techno and deep house on a quartet of inspired, head-in-the-clouds workouts. There's naturally much to admire, from the evocative chords, pulsating beats and rich bass of "Track 1", and breakbeat-driven, rave-era Intelligent Techno of "Track 2", to the dreamy pads, nagging acid lines and crispy, snare-heavy beats of "Track 3". Best of all, though, is "Track 4", a shuffling, deep space electro cut with distinct hints of Drexciya amongst the alien chords, bleep melodies and woozy bass.

Plateau - (6:31) 126 BPM
Rendez-Vous - (7:32) 119 BPM
Closer - (8:08) 118 BPM
Review: Given how prolific he's been across multiple aliases these past few years, you can forgive Boris Bunnik for the lack of output that's characterised his year so far, with just the sole Versalife 12" for Clone's Store Only Series issued. A return to his main creative concern Conforce is most welcome then and the Depth Over Distance EP suggests the Dutchman's production powers are fully recharged. Opening with the title track, Conforce's talent for captivating spacious lines and crisp refreshing drum programming is on full display whilst "Plateau" veers off into abstract territory. Powered by supple arpeggios and powerful kicks, "Rendez-vous" feels like Conforce at his most floor focused whilst "Closer" ends proceedings on a haunting, ambient note.

Brilliant Flood (Kassem Mosse & Sven Weisemann remixes)
Brilliant Flood (Kassem Mosse & mix Mup remix) - (6:30) 120 BPM Hot
Nephila's Oneiric (Svens Glorify Tribute mix To John Beltran) - (9:15) 120 BPM
Review: An interesting pair of remixes on this release, which sees two big producers reinterpreting seminal material from legendary ambient techno producer John Beltran. Kassem Mosse & Mip Mup collaborate on a rework of "Brilliant Flood", adding deep bass and a bumping drum machine workout over the top whilst maintaining the hazy, hypnotic quality of the original. It adds a rough, lo-fi quality that is sure to appeal to fans of Mosse's other productions. Sven Weisemann's remix is a completely different prospect, turning in a nine-minute reworking of several different Beltran productions, which is pitched somewhere between ambient and techno, and even displays a leaning towards modern classical. Not one for the dancefloor necessarily, but sublime listening nonetheless.

Review: On What Have We Learned, Lebanese producer Rabih Beaini is presented with the same dilemma that every other electronic music artist with lofty intentions faces - namely how his music can make the successful transition to a long-player format. Unlike most of his peers however, Beaini manages to imbue What Have We Learned with a common narrative, despite flirting with a range of tempos and arrangements. That unifying bond is a sombre, atmospheric mood. It's tempting to posit that Beaini was influenced by his residency in Venice - but many of his previous releases have also had a similarly somnambulant quality. Irrespective of its origins, this gloominess is audible on the opener, "Silent Screamer", where a resonating bassline underpins an arrangement that skirts loosely around the edges of conventional house music. It also plays a central role on "Too Far". Featuring freaked out Gothic vocals and tumbling keys, its grungy, primal rhythm makes the connection between modern techno grime and industrial gloom. Yet What Have We Learned isn't a depressing or demanding listen and although his music is pitched at the outer limits of dancefloor centric electronic music, its ethereal tendencies will draw listeners in rather than repelling them.

Review: Mike Dehnert and his Fachwerk and MD2 labels have been at the forefront of 90s-inspired techno for the past few years - but will his consistently high strike rate translate to a long player? Thankfully, Dehnert sticks to what he knows best, resisting the ill-advised urge to position himself as a versatile all-rounder. Apart from the brief, abstract "Intro", the dreamy ambience of "Kontextfrei" and the hissing static noise of "Outro", the album centres on the dancefloor, but manages to avoid repetition. And while the dubby bass, scuffled beats and clanging percussion of "Infix" is indicative of the Berlin producer's abeyance to the Basic Channel/Chain Reaction axis, Framework widens his scope; "Beatmatching" is an uplifting vocal-sample heavy groove and this new-found playfulness is also audible on the rave riff sampling "Teilfolge" and the purring bassline and synth melodies of "Quattro". Dehnert may be operating in a new format, but Framework proves that when it comes to techno functionalism, he is peerless.
