Review: Delta9 is an Italian label which has now firmly cemented its place at the forefront of the minimal drum & bass extravaganza. This single is a remix outing from Black Barrel and Quadrant & Iris, who are jumping behind the wheels for Jestah & Creautures and DOT. & Compiler. The result is a bitingly tight rendition of the originals, as Black Barrel blends croaking synth work with a simple, elegant and yet devastatingly effective bassline that ripples with funk and energy. The flip by Quadrant & Iris is rougher in tone but no less precise, as dripping acid-infused synths light the road ahead through a pitch of inky blackness. Brilliant.
