Review: The debut album by Dirtybird staple Ardalan Noghre-Kar consists of 11 tracks with an experimental twist, said to tell the story of the San Francisco-based producer's own coming of age tale He tells a story of self-acceptance and the goal towards becoming a perfect person, by way of learning to be yourself in a society where we're forced to hide our true traits and flaws. So yes, it's pretty deep, philosophically, but musically it's as obtuse, bass heavy and as much of a hot-damn party starter that you've come to expect from Claude Vonstroke & Co! Highlights include: the razor sharp bounce n' bass of opener "I Can't Wait", the sensual late night deep house of "Osci" with L.A. songstress Claire George, plus some throwback mid '00s electro house (of the dirtiest kind) on "Mr Good" (feat Party Patty) and the boomin' afterhours vibe of minimal thriller "Strength" (feat Erica Dee).
Review: San Francisco's Ardalan Noghre-Kar serves up this year's eagerly awaited annual Dirtybird Campout compilation, which is now into its third edition. Happening in the beautifully idyllic surrounds of Bradley in Monterey County on October 6th - 8th, 2017: get your camping supplies packed as they gear up for the Great Outdoors with a proper soundtrack. Von Stroke & Co. reached deep into the Dirtybird vaults for a 'super sized' version of this year's mix. Featuring 15 tracks from featured artists you will see perform live at the event, including many past Dirtybird favorites. They also added two special bonus tracks: the previously unreleased remix of head honcho Claude VonStroke's "Barrump" and his collaboration with the recently retired veteran Jesse Rose "Bare Mountain", which was originally released on Rose's A-Sided label back in 2015.
Review: West coast = best coast as far as the Dirtybird camp is concerned, but they certainly looked eastward for their next dancefloor detonator. Florida's Black V Neck first appeared on the label with a 'Birdfeed' exclusive track, but debut proper here on their two-track EP 'Mouth Music'. From the rolling main-room bounce of the title track which captures the label's distinct sonic aesthetic just perfectly, right through to the tough and attitude driven tech-funk of "Sex, Drugs, Alcohol" which is streamlined for DJ use and will mix in just nicely with your UK tracks just nicely.
Review: The self-proclaimed Dirtyboy from Brazil is back, for Dirtybird! Bruno Furlan has an infectious energy that carries through into his music. His highly distinctive style is based on a restrained economy of sounds. This minimal approach makes for some of the rawest funk beats on the label. Everything is in exactly the right place and all the grooves are perfect. First single, "Action" features a massive drop, into the most hard hitting simple beat with an even simpler bassline. On the other single "Orange Juice", the surprises are all masterfully held until the very end of the track: where it kicks into a frenzy of bubbling filth! At only 22 years old, Bruno Furlan has achieved his own distinct original sound. Who knows where it can take it from here.
Review: Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird is back everyone, look out! This time it's more typical bass driven absurdity for hedonistic dance floors courtesy of Bruno Furlan of Brazil teaming up with Johannesburg's Kyle Watson and what a meeting this is! "Marshmallows" really nails the west coast label's sound perfectly on this down and dirty, bass heavy groove that is so tongue in cheek... It's not funny? Moreover "But Why" keeps on with the cheekiness but is more of a boompty joint reminiscent of the Windy City; you could imagine Derrick Carter throwing this one down for a pre peak-time dancefloor.
Review: Pumping peak time club hits from Polish hit makers Catz 'n Dogz that proclaim 'I can do what I want with my body" and 'I'm a slut baby and there's nothing you can do about it'. Dirtybird delivers a sexually charged club hit loaded with an unapologetic monologue about sexual identity that sounds like it comes from a disgruntled Ru Paul, with a dub version that does away with any innuendo for a focus on the track's tribal percussion and pumping synth lines. No Apologies.
Review: On their latest release, Catz N Dogz team up with a true house legend. Robert Owens has been the voice of many classics over the years and on "Fine Feeling", he lends his breathy tones to a deeper than usual approach from the Polish pair. Underpinned by rasping percussion and organ keys, Owens' velvety vocals imbue the track with a real soul. On "Factory Settings", the pair hook up with Joseph Ashworth for quite a different collaboration. Stripping back the rhythm and laying down an insistent, tracky arrangement that is full of reverberating percussion, it sees Catz N Dogz at their minimal best.
Review: It's hard to believe that it's been a decade since the release of "Detroit". To celebrate double figures, its author has released a sprawling "10 Year Anniversary mix", alongside the original version. The party doesn't end there though, and Dirtybird has also selected some impressive producers to rework it. Unsurprisingly, Marc Houle's take is a slinky, stripped back affair, while Octave One's interpretation mines the kind of tribal, percussive sound that the Burden brothers have made their own over the past two decades. Fused with the original version's brooding synths, it makes for a intoxicating techno groove. Finally, Visionquest bring the curtain down with a laid back, groovy house take on this modern-day classic.
Review: 'Freaks and Beaks' is the fourth album from Dirtybird head honcho Claude VonStroke. Taking inspiration from the sense of humor shared between him and label partner Justin Martin, a love of experimentation with everything from hardware and modular synthesis to iPhone apps, and embracing genres as wide as ghetto tech, drum 'n' bass, hip-hop and breaks - together with his idiosyncratic style of minimal tech house. This is VonStroke's love letter to vibrancy and genre diversity. From the bass-driven acid jack of "Freaks Don't Fail Me Now", the trippy afterhours reductions of "Flubblebuddy" or "Youngblood (ft. Wyatt Marshall) to the influence of Bristol's similarly low-end driven sound as heard on "These Notes In Order" or for something different there's even a bit of blissed-out electronica - as heard on the evocative closer "Alpine Arpline".
Review: West coast bass house heroes Dirtybird are back, and showing ya'll exactly hows it's done - with none other than label head honcho Claude Vonstroke doin' the biz. After a year filled with lots of collaborations and remixes, he drops his new boompty thriller "Slink". The track is a typically funky, bass-driven minimal tech house jam highlighted by a catchy original vocal that sounds like it could have come from an '80s female rapper. While "Please Oh Please Oh Please" goes deep into the morning hours on this druggy and hypnotic serving of tunnel vision, powered by its weirdo monologue reminiscent of classics such as "Deep Throat".
Review: Showcasing a wide range of sounds has always been very important to Dirtybird head honcho Claude Vonstroke. After 15 years of releasing two track EPs with a crazy A side and a deeper/weirder B side, he's been on to a winning formula all this time - so why stop now! Bringing the sound of the west (best) coast once again in the form of the boompty main room blip, bleep 'n blurp of "All My People In The House" (a big hit at this year's annual Campout we're sure), he then goes even further into the afterhours with studio assistant, friend and modular expert Wyatt Marshall - who collaborates with him on the sensual and evocative B side track "Youngblood".
Review: West coast bass house institution Dirtybird presenting the intoxicating, main-room wonky bounce of "It's 'Getting Hot' here! Claude VonStroke and Eddy M team up to give you what you want: Eddy M hails from Barcelona, where he is a resident of the infamous Elrow parties, and he releases on CR2, Solid Grooves and Clarisse. Eddy M really is one of tech-house's top djs to watch and he and Vonstroke are a perfect match on this funky, rolling monster.
Review: A surprising collaboration here between two old friends from Detroit's heyday: Dirtybird head honcho Claude Vonstroke and the Minus/Items & Things affiliated Marc Houle. Story has it that the latter sent over an old file that Vonstroke loved, but they both realized it needed to sound more modern to suit 2020 dancefloors. The resulting track is "Fly Guy", a throwback to the heady minimal techno sounds of the mid '00s - is this now the classic sound's comeback already? Second offering "Arizona" sees Vonstroke channel the same aesthetic once again, only in a more tunnelling and cerebral fashion that is perfect for trancing out under the strobe
Review: West coast bass house institution Dirtybird are back with label head honcho Claude VonStroke, who again 'teams up' with vocalist Bary Drift (many suspect it's another one of Barclay Crenshaw alias) for the first time since 2014's "Califuture". What started out as a demo made for his private fan club a few months ago, has taken on a whole new meaning in recent weeks on "I'm Solo". Here the Los Angeles based producer delivers what has been succinctly described as 'a timely in-house groover with a signature vocal for pandemic living'. This evocative and woozy yet solemn groove will be perfect for the post quarantine warm-up or afterhours alike.
Review: After a relentless touring schedule during the first half of 2017, Dirtybird head honcho Claude Vonstroke hit the studio with a couple of ace producers in the form of Will Clarke and Sebastien V. They collaborated on two giant singles for the Works Well With Others EP. Claude Vonstroke & Will Clarke team up first on "Tiny Tambourine", a dark and filthy tech house groove on the deep and druggy tip. Just listen to that gnarly 'womp' build and build into utter dancefloor madness: this one is huge! Secondly we have Claude VonStroke & Sebastien V with "Daylight Dark Room" an epic dose of acid with a whole heap of bump in the bass and no shortage of jack in the rhythm department. Perfect for getting weird in the early hours, if you ask us!
Review: Formed by the Yellow DJ Academy at only 16 years old, Vinicius Bitencourt aka Cour T. is one of the youngest Brazilians to join the team at the American giant Dirtybird Records. He gets deep down and dirty in the label's idiosyncratic style here with "Black Magic" - a druggy, bass-heavy and minimal bouncer that's jam packed full of dancefloor dynamics. Second offering "Downstairs" is equally on the reduced tip, reminiscent of mid '00s minimal of labels like m_nus or Mobilee with its hypnotic multi-pitched claves doing most of the work, while those thunderous toms beath provide the bass - proper afterhours tackle right here!
Review: Vinicius Bitencourt aka Cour T. is one of the youngest Brazilians to join the team of west coast bass house institution Dirtybird. So far, every single demo by the 17 year old has been signed by the label and his new killer jam exists in the same vein as his last hit "Black Magic". This one comes in the form of the wonky, tribalist boompty business of "Joker Jungle", which is sure to get some tripped-out moments happening on the dancefloor. This is followed up by a remix by Spanish heavyweight Dennis Cruz (Elrow/Solid Grooves) who goes deep into the rainforest with his intensified use hypnotic percussive elements
Review: Brazilian upstart Vinicius Bitencourt a.k.a Cour T. is just 17 years old, but is already creating big waves in his home country and beyond. He made his debut at the famous Dirtybird Campout last year and was responsible for two major dancefloor hits on the label, such as "Joker Jungle" and "Black Magic" and here's his new hit prediction - "Drum Machine". This slinky and downright sleazy groove is perfect for setting the mood during the warm-up, or getting down and dirty at the afterhours alike. Equally as bass-driven (this is Claude Vonstroke's label after all!) is the aptly titled "Euphoric" which injects more energy and dancefloor dynamics into proceedings on this tripped-out minimal tech house thriller. No doubt 2020 will be Cour T.'s year and this is ample proof of such - massive!
Review: Issued on Dirtybird's offshoot, here's a release that captures two distinctly different moods. "El Viento Tropical" oozes good summer vibes. As its title suggests, it sweeps in with steel drums, rum-sozzled muf-fled vocals and infectious Latino funk, all underpinned by a rolling house backing. You can picture it getting played at beach bars across the world. "A Whole Lot" represents the opposite end of the mood spectrum; here, the kicks are tough and are supported by a more menacing vocal and insistent bleeps. It's the flip side to "El Viento Tropical" - package holiday hell served up on a puke-stained platter.
Review: Berlin-based Swiss tech house veteran David Keno makes his U.S. debut with a release on west coast bass house institution Dirtybird. The Keno Records boss follows up a slew of great releases for other top labels of late such as Toolroom, Hottrax and Ritter Butzke studio with "Resonate" - a bumping, low end driven groove powered by thunderous toms and a chugging bassline. "Non Stop" is more of a slow burning builder, packed with druggy vocal samples, a percolator style groove and bare bones percussion - which is perfect for DJs for breaking things down, or indeed, building things up!

Originally in rock and metal bands, he has only been making electronic music for about a year, but these new jams courtesy of west coast bass house heroes Dirtybird will be stand out tracks - for all your long New Years weekend DJ sets! From the moody and tripped-out tunnel vision of 'Wobble Like' to the boompty afterhours minimal mischief of "What Do You Want". these surefire party starters pack a serious amount of low end - just as you like it!
Review: With a long history in the music industry, including a stint as an in-house beatmaker for one of hip hop's mega-producers, to several tours as Gucci Mane's live DJ and a long list of dance music hits on the biggest labels - it was only a matter of time before we'd see DJ E-Clyps' versatility on display again at Dirtybird. Back for the first time since 2017's "Sausages" which appeared on their Dirtybird BBQ compilation, the Blackbird EP features a couple of deep down and dirty jams, that are as bass-driven as you like it. From the sleazy afterhours boompty business of "Coffee Break" and its suggestive lyrics, to the downtime booty house slammer "Scooty Woop" - this sure is NSFW but certainly guaranteed to bang the party!
Review: Dirtybird does Brazil! The west coast bass house institution headed up by Claude Vonstroke taps two of Sao Paulo's biggest names on its 197th release. DJ Glen has been a stalwart of the city's electronic music since since the turn of the millenium, with releases/remixes on Cajual and Snatch! in recent years. He is joined by ascendant DJ/producer Bruno Furlan (This Ain't Bristol/Relief) on their new effort "Another Planet" - a dirty, wonky main room thriller which as you'd expect is heavy on the low end and worthy of a headrush or two. This is followed by the bleepy/druggy percolator jack of "Ducking" which is sure to keep all the kids dancin'!
Review: Don Rimini is Xavier Gassemann, a producer based in France who over the last years has appeared everywhere from Mental Groove Records to Booty Call and local operation BADLQQK. His new one for west coast bass engineers Dirtybird Select (their new digital only arm) is a fitting home for low-end heavy bounce as heard on the sleazy and party-starting jam "Motel Ride". The naughty vibes continue, although in more deeper style, with the restrained ghetto house stylings of "Planet Earth" with its rolling drums and seriously jacking vocals.
Review: Edible head honcho and all round tech house superstar Eats Everything teams up with Cornwall's Lord Leopard here for some bumpin' and slinky grooves aimed squarely at the dancefloor. The Murk style tribal drums on "Song For" merge with diva vocals but soon give way to a bleepy bass driven jackathon. "War Rhythm" continues on with the bouncy sensibilities with its low end swagger that reminds you that these guys really are about a Bristol kind of sound.
Review: They say west coast is 'best coast' and we're not going to argue. But they can certainly add 'bass coast' to the list of accolades with Dirtbird certainly leading the charge. Claude Von Stroke's label now presents Chicago duo Fancy Fux who serve up the frantic booty house of "Stripper" which successfully emerges elements of acid and bass music into one fierce people mover that features Katie Got Bandz dirty rhyming which is certainly NSFW. Up next on the remix is Belgian guy in Los Angeles Kill Frenzy with the "Acid Workout" which does exactly what it says on the tin on this gliding, modulating and resonating peak time groover that works that little silver box like a you know what.
Review: Fernando Bedrinana aka FER BR turns in some heavy tech house treats for Dirtybird that in another lifetime could of been found on a release for Mike Dehnert's Fachwerk label. Nevertheless, this debut W3lcome two-track goes large in every way possible, be it the pumping synth and bassline arpeggios, to tripped out vocals and classic 909 hats in "Caleidoscope" to the more rhythmcentric sequences of "W3lcome". Music that burns with gnarly club aesthetics and the devil's grin to deliver something sublime with dancefloor purpose and functionality. Welcome aboard.
Review: In his previous life as a surfer, Paul "Fish" Fisher used to ride waves. Now the Australian producer prefers to make waves of the sonic variety - with devastating effect. Fisher's latest release is on Claude Von Stroke's label and it's not hard to understand why Oi Oi would appeal to Dirtybird's owner. "Stop It" resounds to a powerful, pumping bass, a pitch-bent vocal and even some deftly arranged electro synths. All of these elements add up to the type of track Von Stroke would spin. On "Ya Didn't", he opts for a more classic house sound, with a looped soulful vocal fused with a tracky groove - but then a wall of electronic bass washes over the arrangement, consolidating Fisher's name as a purveyor of party house.
Review: First brought to audiences by Claude VonStroke and Justin Martin in their back to back set at Miami this year, "Ya Kidding" by Fisher was the biggest track of the conference. The vocal says it all: it's all about 'moving on the dancefloor'. A former pro surfer from Sydney, Australia, Fisher's debut release is already generating big waves with early support from Pete Tong, Green Velvet, Eats Everything, Skream, Latmun, and more. The track's boompty, bass heavy groove is aimed squarely at main room, peak time dancefloors in all its druggy and rolling glory. Big drop on this one! Dirtybird also enlisted two mighty remixes from artists who have carved out their own unique sounds of late: the red hot UK duo Solardo and the mysterious up and coming Sebastien V.
Review: It is that time of year again down in the City Of Magic. Winter Music Conference, Miami Music Week or whatever you prefer to call it - we just wish we were there too! And this is as close as it gets, with San Francisco powerhouse Dirtybird doing an 11-track compilation featuring the likes of Franklyn Watts, Bode V Steve Darko among many more. The tracks also come as a continuous mix by Windy City legend Gene Farris: he of Farris Wheel Recordings who serves up an exclusive here with Frenchman Tim Baresko on the electric "Fly With Me", also the bass heavy bounce (right in line with the label's sound) is also heard on Jaksan's "LaLaLa", Belgian veteran Kolombo makes a surprise appearance with some dirty nu-disco on "O Ride O Ride" and Brazilian Scavazza gets deep down and dirty on the grinding "This Time".
Review: Spaniard German Brigante is on a roll right now. Let's do the label roll call again shall we: Saved, OFF, Defected and of course Get Physical: who released last year's brilliant full length Bipolar. He now appears for Claude Von Stroke's' revered west coast institution Dirtybird for something a bit different. "Noose" has an almost early noughties tribal house groove about it with some druggy synth melodies for added sass. He's by now aware of his own success with the imaginatively titled "The Brigante Chronicles", a dark journey track sure to cause some serious dancefloor drama with its wonky synth leads, mysterious pads and emotional vocals. Finally "Samoa" is definitely the most Dirtybird sounding track here with its emphasis on the bass, big, trippy headrush sounds and some druggy vocal dialogues for added mischief.
