Night Stayin' - (5:36) 116 BPM
Warmest Summer Day - (5:36)
116 BPM Review: According to their promotional material, the mysterious Disko Knights are "a clan of world recognized production talent on a mission to slay the EDM dragons". In other words, they're either an alias of someone already well known, or up-and-coming producers keen to cultivate a little hype for their reworks. Either way, the two re-edits on this third, self-titled EP are strong enough to warrant further investigation. They begin with "Night Stayin", a thrillingly loose and boisterous disco-funk rework built around bold, clipped guitars, an undulating bassline and punchy horns. "Warmest Summer Day" strolls off in a totally different direction, serving up a dancefloor-friendly revision of a saucer-eyed, 1980s AOR classic that could conceivably be called 'Balearic'.
