Fire EP
Review: Dogs & Vultures Records is an underground music label based in Madrid (Spain). For their next release they present a collaborative project which runs between the Brighton and Tirana based Lindi and Genti - aka Inaktiv. Their brand of noir-ish and neon-lit dance music is utterly impressive on the Fire EP. From the bold and moody title track that's perfect mood lighting for when the smoke machine comes on, the late night nu-disco bounce of "S" with its acidic edge and the brooding slo-mo punk-funk of "Eyeblog" - which also gets a terrific remix by the Two Mamarrachos from San Sebastian. Speaking of remixes, hot Berlin duo Pardon Moi (Roam Recordings/Nein) also hand in a rework which perfectly nails that modern synth-pop sound.

Walter & Bryan
Review: MontCosmik hails from Nantes, France and has released previously on Play Pal, Redant and Nein. His new one entitled "Walter & Bryan" comes courtesy of Madrid's Dogs & Vultures. In its original form, the track is a brooding late night disco journey, while Connor's remix up next ventures down more of an EBM route - which we really enjoyed. Second original offering "Beat The Dog" similarly treads murky new wave waters, but the rework up next by the ever impressive Days Of Being Wild is where it's at. This noirish experiment in synthpop is perfect mood lighting for when they turn the lights down low, the smoke machine gets turned on and you're dancing by yourself under the strobe light.

Testament EP
Testament EPEXCLUSIVE
Review: 2018 marks the arrival of a new player in the current synth game, the already excellent Dogs & Vultures imprint, out of Madrid! If that wasn't enough, the imprint has brought along a new artist to the framework, the enigmatic Kike Am Radar. The producer's debut release, Testament EP, floats majestically between proto-house and post-music, which is a tough nut to crack these days. The opening "Testament" sets the scene for what develops into a deep and overwhelming amalgamation of nu-school psychedelia, emanating consistently high levels of polyphonies and pad-work, all shaped and moulded to immerse us in a world of pure abstraction. Nonetheless, Kike manages to create movement, mystery and wonder, building a collection of tracks suitable to both the dancefloors and the bedrooms, which is the sort of electronic music we can't get enough of. Bring on more oddities, please.

Endoscopy EP
Endoscopy EPEXCLUSIVE
Review: Dogs & Vultures records is an underground music label based in Madrid, managed by Vicente Garcia and Esther C. They return with their second release, after their impressive Compilation Vol.1, and this time it is the turn of Petroza aka Antoniadis Petros, a Greek producer and DJ based in Thessaloniki. The noir electronics of "Endoscopy" is the kind of indie-dance for nu-goths that we're really digging at the moment, in the vein of Red Axes, Fantastic Twins or Curses. There's some great remixes included by Monoblok and FK Club. Second original offering "Agoraphobia" is a lo-slung and psychedelic cosmic trip, geared for some real drifting on the dancefloor. It too gets a couple of fine makeovers but for us it was all about Did Virgo's funky and neon-lit nu-disco remix.
