Review: Want to learn how to make authentic contemporary jungle? Check anything Bladerunner has ever produced. Case in point; this epic four-tracker. Originally released in February 2013, the emotive vocal shock-out "Feel For You" gets a robust VIP treatment. "Jungle Heroes", meanwhile, balances bright vibrant synth blasts with thick, deep sub work. The Andy C-accredited "Spartan Law" goes under the VIP blade for added impact. Finally "Studio (Dub)" completes the release with the most classical jungle sounding vibe; wobbling subs, whistling breakbeats and spacious dub noises and processes fuse to create the quintessential roller. It doesn't get more authentic than this.

Review: Using samples from the charts to pep up his weighty basslines, Bladerunner has a way with turning the banal into something that little bit more amazing. Getting as far away from pop as possible though in "The Real Deal", we get experimentation with big, bouncy bass that booms out from under layers of sci-fi and vintage effects. "Soul Sense" rolls along thick and fast and "Poseidon Dub" is as deep and ethereal as you want it to be. Bladerunner is fast becoming a buy-on-sight name around these parts, and when he's producing stuff like this it's not hard to see why.

Review: The original beat factory Dread Recordings is back and brasher than ever with some serious bass-heavy antics. Switching from deep, destructive rhythms to down and dutty bass and back again, it's a return to the bad old days, when sounds were slick and tunes rolled out hard. Before we get nostalgic, let's cut to the chase: you've got two of the scene's biggest names here, getting together to build a four track storm on a truly legendary label.

Review: Digital on Dread... If you're after straight up jungle that's made from the heart and doesn't care for any trends, then you can't ask for any more than this. "Steady Eddie" is all about the rifle snare edits and distorted bass, "Moody Runt" has almost a touch of the Metalheadz with its dark riff and bull-charge amens while "Luv Dub" reminds us of Digital's rootsy foundation. Last but not least we have "Unexplored World" which sucker punches us into amen submission with true jungle timelessness. Few artists are on the same level as this man.

Review: Ray Keith, legendary jungle DJ / producer and owner of the infamous Dread Recordings, makes a comeback and the I Am Renegade Sampler says it all with some 21st century jungle music to please the ravers while giving the contemporary scene a sprinkle of the old skool. "Monster" gets the party started with its bass warping, ticking breaks and iconic rave vocal and stabs, before "I See The Future" takes over with its progressive sweeping atmospherics and bass lurches. "Galaxian Warrior" goes a bit more dancefloor orientated with wobbles, rattling drums and plenty of punch, and then "Tronik" re-works a recognizable vocal and twists it up with that Ray Keith dexterity.

Review: As one of jungle's originals, there was a time when Ray Keith was one of the heaviest hitters in the drum and bass scene. These days, his star has waned a little and is known more as Joy Orbison's uncle, but he still retains the ability to rock a dancefloor. For those of a certain vintage, I Am Renegade - his first new album in three years - should be a bit of a treat. Devoid of contemporary thrills - bar a trip into deeper territory in the shape of "Stardust" - it recycles the amen-heavy brand of hard-hitting jungle and hardcore with which Keith made his name during the 1990s. As such, it's a thrilling blast from the past.

Review: Evergreen Ray Keith continues to pump out the hits in his fearless, floor-friendly junglist style. This fresh, digital-only album features a range of his own dubplates - previously unreleased cuts that he's been spinning on and off for Lord knows how long. There are few surprises - by now, we should all know what his vntage, Amen-sporting old skool style sounds like - but plenty of confirmed bangers, from the breakbeat hardcore rinse-out of "Chopper" and pleasing vocal cut "Midnight", to the intense rhythms of bombastic closer "Visual Attack".

Review: Jungle legends really don't come any bigger than Ray Keith. Dread founder and all round agenda-setter, here we find him unleashing some long-awaited originals. "Greedy Me" takes a well-known vocal and lays it down gracefully over a rush-fuelled full throttle breakbeat groove. "Going In Hard" contrasts this completely with industrial strength and halfsteps that wouldn't go amiss on Exit. Further on, "Waste Man Dem" is a Dub Phizix-style vocal cut from Ray's Renegade Live outfit while "Dub 1" is a turbo charged homage to synths with cool use of a Roberta Flack vocal. Each one of them primed for destruction, it's clear Ray hasn't lost his touch.

Review: Following the first collection of digital dubplates and VIPs from veteran producer Ray Keith's seemingly bottomless archives, Dread Recordings returns with another bumper selection of tracks from the vault. His vintage junglist style sounds as fresh as it always has, with highlights including the early liquid offerings of "Rare Groove", the syncopated sub action of "Too Strong", the savage jungle bass and subtle Detroit-style pads of "Unorthadox", and the rave-inspired madness that is closing track "Wobbler". Quite simply, they don't make 'em like this any more.

Review: Original breakbeat DJ and one of the founding fathers of drum and bass, Ray Keith's part in the early days of the scene can't be overstated. Match the man himself with Tenor Fly, one of the most distinctive voices in breakbeat and drum and bass and you've got a recipe for some seriously baking riddims. Renegade Live is Keith's dream - a fully live jungle setup that brings energy and soul back to those dark rooms filled with bass and nodding heads. Potentially the hottest ticket for the forthcoming festival season, Bladerunner's dub remix packs some serious punch, adding after dark attitude and ghostly keys. Hotly tipped for this summer, all eyes on Renegade - don't sleep.

Review: Given that it comes on Ray Keith's Dread Recordings, it comes as little surprise that Lion Fire's Dub War should provide such an enjoyably amen-heavy excursion jungle and hardcore. The title track provides high powered basslines straight out of '92, while "Counter Attack" riffs on the same theme, throwing down amen breaks like cluster bombs. "Shark Attack" meanwhile funnels screaming synths through a hail of tumbling percussive bullets, leaving "Kung Fu" to provide the EP's subtler moment, combining tense, trilling synths with intricate drums and deep, low-end bass.

Review: The second part of Margaman's broadsword, full-spectrum EP doublet on Ray Keith's still-vital Dread, here we're treated to the darker side of his true inner spirit as we batter our way through the shadows; the murky grimey halftime rolls of "Clip Off Your Wings", the Digital-style wall of sound "I Got A Question For Ya", the dancehall jungle groaner "Pis Pon Dem", the soaring roller "Finesse", the classic rave synths and Full Cycle-flavoured drum slap and tickle and the ludicrously low and rumbling "So Heavy"... Each track reminding us why he's become a go-to producer for some of the most important foundation DJs of the genre. Timeless heaviness.

Review: Since emerging on L Double's Flex a few years back, Margaman has blessed us with a whole string of timeless cuts through the likes of Kenny Ken's Mix & Blen, Dawn Raid's Hocus Pocus and Ash-A-Tack's Director's Cut. Now he makes his debut on Ray Keith's seminal Dread imprint with two incendiary EPs. It kicks off here with the massive 2am blow-out "Searching", a track that grabs you instantly with its over-layered vocals and energetic thrust. Other highlights include the stripped back tribality and jazzy echoes of "Tribe Of Benjamin", the slurry bass and Headzy mentasms of "Satisfy" the space-race metallic tech-step pace of "Nasty Bloodclart" and the neck-breaking jungle grunts of "You Still Here". Dig deep as there's a whole other EP as part of this release too. Margman isn't messing around!

Review: Fresh from causing criminal damage on Radius, PA goes all alter-ego on us with this dual persona workout on Ray Keith's Dread. First up are two contrasting PA cuts: the demonic MC-led "Purple Demonz" and the slinky roller "Sound You Never Know" which wouldn't go amiss on Symmetry or Advisory. What follows is a slew of darker, more classical jungle sounding cuts that were tailor made for Dread. From the minimal Doc Scott style heartbeat bass of "Dread Colonies" to the scorching reese on "Keep Pushing" via the pensive halftime intro on "Flash Dance" we climax with his finest roll-out cut to date thanks to its bellowing subs, its one-shot gunshot ragga vocal sample and atmospheres so cold you'll be convinced you've got pneumonia.

Review: Original jungle terrorist Ray Keith reminded us who the founding boss was with this in 2012; tearing and troubling with all the genre's source elements but coated with a full-fat diva vocal, it crossed every sub-genre imaginable. The versatility is reflected in this all-style remix package: Keith's VIP adds a sense of roomy jazz (and added angst with the militant amens), Nautilus adds a deep space flare with rich atmospheres and slim-line vocal edits, Deploy twists the vocal back to remind us of its C&C Music Factory roots while Jinx adds some beautiful strings while Hydra shuts up shop with a rifle-like bee's nest bass and very little else. Lovely.

Review: The second part of Keith's huge remix release, each of these versions will do well to extend the contemporary classic's legacy: Bladerunner's VIP is a full-charge stampede to the mid-90s, Mr Explicit gets ugly with his future jump-up hybrid, Margaman and Truspirit chop up the arrangement and rebuilt it into something new and gnarly while Green Man adds a little star-gazing twinkle with a spine-melting arpeggio and emotional breakdown. Finally Section polishes up the amens to take centre stage while Blame injects a little piano magic and uplifting synth action to his version. Deeper lovely.

Review: The don-dadda, badman Santa Ray 'renegade' Keith returns with four brand new jams. Each one tickling a different underbelly of the dance, it's the full Dread experience: "Feel Some" lashes out with barbed jungle soul, very much like a Break track but in Ray's distinctive style. "Do You Wanna Cook?" is the flip-switcher with its tripped, melting bassline swung low under the drums. "Zion Dread" takes us right back to the Dread's jungle roots while "Virus" is an iced-out techstepper that wouldn't go amiss on Headz. Consistently denting the dance since day one, Ray remains king.

Review: Serum steps up for a seriously bass-heavy release on Ray Keith's infamous Dread Recordings. It's deadly by name, deadly by nature in the title track, as a tense, trembling string section in the intro gives way to an iconic vocal sample, and then the tune drops into a sub bass booming fray with gently ticking breaks and a deadening sense of foreboding. Accompanying this is "Prototype" with its menacing snares, eerie SFX and punishing bass wobbles, it's a track for the true D+B soldier. Approach with caution!

Review: Germany representing! TGM makes his debut on Ray Keith's long-standing Dread with six blisteringly fresh originals: "Infinity 3000" does a great vocal trick as it teases Sheela's tones rhythmically before eventually dropping into the full vocal. Other highlights include the atmospheric midnight run and sudden organ evangelism of "Express Train Dub", the chirpy dancehall skanks of "Dem Lov It So" and the fluttering piano rolls of "Elemental Journey".

Review: Dread Recordings unleash their fifth mixtape of dancefloor stormers, and with 17 massive tracks to choose from, they're not mucking about. Spanning the entire genre of drum and bass from its old school beginnings to modern minimal and everything in between, there's something for every picky sub-genre bass aficionado. This tracklist of rising stars like Excalibur, Mara Man and Deploy sit alongside the likes of Savage Rehab and Renegade Live to pull off the biggest D&B event of the year. Hold tight, this is gonna get messy.

Review: Sometimes you have to look back to look forward. Sometimes you have to look forward to look back. Sometimes you just have to live in the now. Whichever temporal situation you find yourself in, know one thing; Ray Keith has been donning jungle and drum & bass since day one with his mighty and hugely influential Dread imprint and his army of aliases (UFO, Renegade, Terrorist, Dark Soldier, London's Most Wanted, Babylon 5, the list goes on) Here, like the generous D&B Santa he truly is (yes, we are saluting his awesome white beard) he's bringing everyone up to speed with 28 cuts that range every Dread era from here to tomorrow. Serum's VIP-primed soul slammer "Feel For You", Bladerunner's ghostly groaner "Spartan Law" by way of the immense collection from the big man himself, this is an immaculate lesson in jungle with enough upfront exclusives for the biggest completist head. No junglist should be without it.
