Review: The E-Beamz label recently debuted with a fine 12" of jungle-influenced haziness from Tim Shug and DJ Playstation. Here, they swiftly move on to EP number two, showcasing tracks from debutants DJ Boring and Magma. The former's A-side cut, "Winona" - so called because it utilizes vocal samples from an interview with actress Winona Ryder - sounds like a long-lost early '90s cut: an ultra-deep treat full of deep space chords, analogue deep house beats and psychedelic TB-303 abuse. Magma's dustier flipside cut, "You", explores similar old skool pastures, making use of both barnstorming techno drums and sweaty jungle breaks. Throw in ridiculously deep chords and riffs, and some eyes-closed vocal samples, and you have another late night winner.

Review: Launching with both serious and strange statements of intent: the location-unknown vinyl only E-Beamz imprint continues its wide-armed embrace of the deep with another boundary-smashing 12". US mystery man Tlim Shug paves the path with chugging Chi-town jack that wouldn't go amiss in a Farina set while Playstation (a Frenchman you may know as Maukook) lays down an Omni Trio flavoured jungle joint that's coated in pads so thick and breezy you can taste them. Delicious.

Review: Storage Media AKA Hugo Jay AKA DJ Kush Boogie next on UK lo-fi house merchants E-Beamz who served up that very talked about EP by DJ Boring recently. It is much more of the dusty and dreamy variety: meme house in the vein of Lobster Theremin and we are really digging it! Particularly the crunchy retrovert jack of "002" or the new age groove of "004" with its soothing FM bell tones hypnotising you in style. Nice!

Review: Off the back of some recent glories for the like of Canoe, the highly-rated Nyra has earned himself a spot on the E-Beamz imprint, alongside peeps like DJ Boring, DJ Swagger and the rest of the nu-school house gang. However, unlike their style, this man's got the techno equation on lock-down, and if "Function 8" is anything to go by, then we're pretty sure that true-school techno is both alive and well! "Defenders Of The Past" is another supremely funky techno attack, all acidic and minimal, just like those pioneering Muzique releases, whereas "Eternal Ends" opts for the more soulful touch thanks to a killer slew of melodies riding up and down its analogue groove like a wave. Big boy gear.

Review: Current darling of the scene Hugo Massien returns on E Beamz for his second offering on the hot British label, following up last years wicked No Return EP. The Bristol based artist serves up more deep, darkside tech on Almost Becoming Lucid, however the title track features some jungle style breaks to build the mood. "Chemically Minded" is more like the artist we know on this slinky and tunnelling journey into the late night. Massien proves he's certainly capable of heads down and hypnotic minimal techno, like on "Do's Final Exit" or "Andromeda Signal" - the latter incorporating deep house aesthetics atop seamlessly and proving that he's still on a roll. We agree with the critics: he's very much the future of UK house music.

Review: Hot on the heels of his Tectonic EP, Berlin-based Brit Hugo continues on his expedition into more broken territories with five fractured forays on E-Beamz. "Where Your Body Begins" sets the tone with menacing bass tones blasting beneath slow jungle rolls before being countered by the Bicep-flexing drifter "The Only Constant Is Change". Deeper again; "Alien Shapes" is the teeth grinder of the set with its rasping, rising venomous acid and brittle breaks, "Circles" re-soothes our soul with a rippling beatless floatation sensation and "Faith In Chaos" throws us in a big bubbly bath of acid for a final hoorah.
