Review: 2023 has been a busy year for Casual Treatment, with releases on MindTrip, Hardgroove and Hayes, as well as an acclaimed album, Dystopia. None of this activity has deterred him from also debuting on EarToGround with this impactful EP. "Think Of Me" sees Casual Treatment mine the annals of late 90s UK tech house for inspiration. Led by a lean rhythm and acidic bass, the arrangement is peppered with tripped out vocal samples. "Miles Away" has a soulful edge: resounding to sweeping chords and a sultry vocal, these elements swirl across the agile groove. EarToGround has also commissioned two fine remixes, with Vil turning "Think Of Me" into a rolling, clubby techno track the Cravo version of "Miles Away" veering in a tribal direction.

Review: Gareth Wild has a small but finely formed catalogue, with most output appearing on his esteemed EarToGround label. Night Breed sees him deliver two exemplary tracks - the title track is a bleak but exhilarating affair, as Wild conjures up a bruising, hypnotic arrangement that has echoes of Mike Parker's subsonic grooves, delivered against a backdrop of steely kicks. "Tronic State" is more visceral, with great swathes of white noise enveloping Wild's broken rhythm. The release also features two heavyweight remixes: Swarmm drops a great drum'n'bass take on the title track, while Oscar Mulero turns "Tronic..." into a stripped back, percussive affair, underpinned by grimy bass.
