Praia Do Norte (Club edit) - (5:51) 117 BPM
Review: This EP from Ed Banger, the work of French producer Romain Delahaye, may be sitting in the deep house section but of its five tracks, the nu-disco inspired 'Praia Do Norte' and its Italo-ish Club Mix are the only two that wouldn't be guaranteed to clear the floor in any house club we've ever visited! Elsewhere on the EP experimental, leftfield electronica is the order of the day, ranging from 'Big Mama', which alternates between ambient/found-sound passages and doomy analogue synth growls, to the dark, footwork-tinged techno of '1st Peak' and the paranoid, claustrophobic electro of 'Reminiscences'.

Review: The 80s electro force is strong in this one! Parisian producer serves up a retro-tastic cut featuring New York hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa, whose "you are on my radar/I control your mind" vocal is alternately fed through a vocoder and served dry. The Original, Bonus Beats and Adesse mixes are pure nostalgia, Dimitri From Paris looks to Italo-disco and early Chicago house for inspiration on his remix, the Borussia Remix has a slightly more contemporary, footwork-y feel and Deen Abdelwahed's remix takes the track into more jagged indie-dance territory, like Nag Nag Nag had never closed.

Review: Mr Flash, the man responsible for Ed Banger's debut release, unleashes another crucial single from his sophomore album Sonic Crusader. All slinky guitar licks, big synth stabs and soothing vocals from Surahn, it tiptoes the fine line between deep disco and Balearic bliss. Remix-wise Jon Convex presses the tech-funk button while Margot sends us straight up the clouds with a beautiful arpeggiated synth riff and dreamily spacious kicks. Hungry for more? Good - Ed Banger have also included "Moonchild". Galvanised with slap bass and spine-tingling synth overlays, it's got summer stamped all over it.

Review: Ed Banger veteran Feadz touches down on France's Because Music with a scintillating, rip-roaring debut LP which travels to all possible corners of the bass spectrum. From jittering house productions to sweltering low-end-nastiness, this a real testament to the dancefloor. Tracks like "Metaman", "Stickbuilders" and "Wettex" are truly capable of some serous damage to the chest and we don't even wanna think what happened in the mastering studio when they were being cut. Hold tight, bass crew.

You Should Know (The Swiss remix) - (5:54) 123 BPM
You Should Know (Le Family Club remix) - (5:04) 126 BPM
Review: With its touchy-feely pianos, baggy disco shuffle and hazy, blue-eyed soul vibe, "You Should Know" has all the makings of a summer radio hit. It's the sort of thing we've come to expect from Breakbot, but it is also arguably one of his best singles to date. Predictably, it comes with a bulging remix package. There's a tasty, decidedly looser Alternate Take, a pleasingly analogue, early house-influenced rework from Busy P & Boston Bun, and a jaunty piano house tweak from Homework Le Bain. If that wasn't enough, The Swiss turn it into a wide-eyed Ibizan anthem. Good stuff, all told.

Review: Their first label compilation since 2008, Busy P rallies up his talented troops for a collection of exclusive tracks to celebrate a decade of electro excellence. And we mean excellence. Each cut sparkles with its maker's idiosyncrasies; Krazy Baldhead lays down his most textured cosmic melodies, Busy P gets sleazy and old school Chicago with Thunderbird Gerard, Justice give their star-gazing air-guitar basher a truly majestic rework and Oizo gets his slo-mo hammer on with some gorgeous jacking de-pitched synth stabs. There's loads more to chew on here, and not a dull moment throughout. Here's to another decade.

Girls In The Hood (feat Miss Kittin) - (3:38) 160 BPM
Review: Henry Riton's last release was the co-incidentally-titled Dark Place, which came out shortly after the tragic death of his Carte Blanche partner, DJ Medhi in 2011.Having understandably kept a low profile since then, he's now back with this powerful new release on Ed Banger. "Bang Your Head" is a hysterical, anthemic acid freak-out, "Dance To The Great Golfball In The Sky", is a glammy electro-house stomper, and "Lost My Mind" is, surprisingly, a total ghetto hip-hop curveball that's echoed on EP closer, "Girls In The Hood" - a deep and heavy bass-led grinder boasting a cameo from French Electroclash chanteuse Miss Kittin. Good to have him back!

Helix (Gesaffelstein Vision remix) - (4:36) 117 BPM Hot
Helix (Domenico Torti Headspin remix) - (5:47) 117 BPM
Review: More than 18 months after their Audio, Video, Disco LP dropped, Justice's "Helix" finally gets a single release. It's a typical chunk of goodtime disco-stomp, like Daft Punk without the filter-heavy swing, or Cassius trying to rave in ill-fitting straightjackets. Remix-wise, Gesafellstein turns it into a crunchy electro banger - all heavy drum programming, cut-up yelps and murky riffs - while Parisian veteran Domenico Torti (once Dimitri From Paris's go-to "edit guy") cuts it up impressively, adding a dose of fuzzy funk to proceedings. For the heads, there are also two more downtempo bonus cuts, of which the effortlessly sweet "Ohio" is the pick.

Housecall
Housecall - (4:26) 118 BPM Hot
Closer - (5:00) 122 BPM
Urname - (5:34) 117 BPM
Review: With a remix debut on Sound Pellegrino and a solo debut on Ed Banger, Parisian artist Boston is quite the hot tip right now. Taking the acid house and Chicago warehouse vibes of yore (think Pierre, Hardy, Green Velvet) and adding that French touch, there's something both retro and forward looking about this trio of tracks. "Closer" is the quirkiest of the pair with the strange crackles and warping on the cowbells and sleazy-assed groove. "Urnmae" is more of a nod to Mr Fingers, but done with a prog-like glow that wouldn't have gone amiss in a Sasha & Digweed set back in the proverbial. Last but not least, the title track "House Call" is a serious jack-attack. Keep listening...
