Review: British producer Eighteen Keys returns on his eponymous imprint with two rhythmic house cuts. First up is the deep, late night shuffle of "Feel It", perfect mood music if we've ever heard such a thing, with a subtle 303 acid flourish throughout which really adds to the vibe. The second offering is the heads-down tribal groove of "Well Well Well" which channels the New York City sound of Twilo spun by the legendary Junior Vasquez back at the turn of the millenium.
Review: Supported by industry heavyweights such as Jamie Jones, Eli Brown, Sirus Hood and Josh Butler, the mysterious Eighteen Keys delivers the fifth installment of his eponymous imprint here titled "Light It Up". This is a deep and sensual tech house cut that provides perfect mood music for the warm up or afterhours alike. It's backed by second offering "You Know" a deep down and dirty expression in minimal house, packed with druggy, bumpy bass and clipped rhythm programming which would also go down a treat on Sunday morning.
Review: The mysterious Eighteen Keys returns on his own imprint with a third release after previous drops picking up love from the likes of Michael Bibi, Stacey Pullen, Carlo Lio and Audiojack to name but a few. 'I Want You' kicks off with the title track, an intricately rhythmic track stripped back to 808 drums, powerful sub-bass and vocals interspersed with a deftly and sparingly used warm stab. Simple and devastatingly effective, it's a memorable slice of peak time house. 'King Louie' brings up the rear with a slick slice of deep, organic house that heads in a bassy, swinging direction that would easily find itself at home at 11pm as it would at 4am.
Review: The mysterious Eighteen Keys is back on his eponymous imprint with another serving of deep down and dirty minimal tech house, on his new jam "I Told You" - the label's second release. This is supported by a couple of hot remixes: Gaddison, who recently debuted with a promising EP on Waldliebe Familien, takes it even later into the afterhours with his glitchy micro-funk rewor,k while the closing offering "You & Eye" (original mix) goes down a lush deep house route, awash in emotive and sensual vibes that makes a perfect warm-up track.
