Lezno, Poland's Exotic Refreshment presents the second edition of Exotic Series. Kicking off with the dark trance inflected groove of "Bali" by Sabre, it then launches into Leon Vynehall's trippy afterhours remix of "Acid Splash" by Tsuba head honcho Kevin Griffiths. Berlin's Monosoul gets a re-rub by man of the moment, Borrowed Identity, on the high tech soul journey that is "June". It's similar business on the next track, by analogue machine boffin Neville Watson, who lends his midas touch to Brad Peterson's "Virtual Headspace". The bumpy, bleepy, rough and ready groove of Amir Alexander's "The Black Rain" is a real highlight ,as is the sombre tech house of Iron Curtis' "Spirals". As you can see there's a lot to get through on here, but it's all killer, no filler. Hand In Hands' "Dropping The Pressure" provides some peak time acid house mayhem while Daniel Solar and Huxley's "Dancing With Your Heart" has the uplifting vocal deep house side of things covered.
Leszno, Poland based label Exotic Refreshment serves up another instalment of the Exotic Series and just take a look at the roll call on here, from the artists to the remixers; this label has certainly played their cards right! Highlights on this volume include Jacques Renault's Rooftop version of Dima Ustinov's "Thousand Plateaus" which is a dreamy and serene epic, UK producer Tom Demac's bittersweet and ultra-deep re-take on Maribou State's "The Clown" is great and rising star Frits Wentink's quirky and tripped out house excursion "Q&A", just brilliant. Honourable mentions also to the dusty, funky feel good vibes of Glenn Astro's Deeply Busted remix of Claude, and Puglia's Dan Mela who makes a surprise appearance with a killer remix of "TBDP" by the one and only Vakula; this track is the proper deep stuff and a real highlight on the compilation.
Exotic Refreshment are an independent house and techno label based in Leszno, Poland and founded at the beginning of 2007 by Kuba Kraczewski. They are back with another edition of their Exotic Series; Vision Of Love 4 to be precise and they've sure rounded up some big names on this one. Highlights include Fouk's sexy and slinky remix of Kraak & Smaak's "Way Back Home" (feat Ivar), Lets Play House main man Jacques Renault's remix of Minneapolis duo No Regular Play's "El Dorado", as well as the return of Brothers Vibe who teams up with YouANDme for "Don't Take This Shit So Serious". If that was not enough, the always impressive Borrowed Identity throws down an awesome remix of Miajica's "Der Schlosser".
