Review: The Shir Khan-helmed Black Jukebox series has always been a reliable source of groovy house tracks built around extensive disco samples and a strong desire to get dancefloors moving. This 13th volume in the series once again ticks all the right boxes. Newcomer Onsra handles the virtual A-side, first delivering a 13-minute, conga-laced fusion of chunky disco-house grooves and sweltering Latin pianos, before brilliantly turning an Imagination classic into a sweaty house roller on "Burning Up". On his two contributions, Kiko Navarro heads towards Soundstream and Tiger & Woods territory, creating throbbing, pulsating disco-house smashers by relentlessly working a handful of killer loops. Of the two, it's the Bohannon-biting "Good Intention" that most impresses.

Review: The Exploited label isn't just another house label from Berlin. What they've done in a few years has been truly impressive, and while everyone else is busy making techno in the capital, these dudes have brought nothing but house vibes to warm up everyone's winter. A newcomer takes the spotlight this time, Radiophobia, and his "Can't Stop Believing" tune is the perfect house mood for the darker of days; a progressive, vocal-driven big room monster that'd go down a storm in sets by the likes of Tiesto or Bob Sinclair. Watch out for the vox mix and the straighter radio edit.

Review: Born and bred Berlin Shir Khan's Exploited imprint is on fire at the moment! With Adana Twins, Claptone and Kruse & Nurnberg appearing on his label in recent times; the evidence is clear! This time its new UK producer Sevendoors taking the helms. It's dark and melodic journey tracks on offer here, which gives a nod to the likes of Freerange as it does Life & Death or Innervisions, so you know what you're in for! First track "Otec" gets things off to a good start with its elevating bass line and sharp synth leads guiding you to proper dancefloor euphoria. "Megaptera" on the other hand takes the left hand path, venturing into the dark side with its dark bassline, screeching synth lead and overall sombre atmospherics that'd make Stephan Bodzin step up and notice.

Review: Hero of the Berlin scene and former B Pitch Control alumni Kiki is back on Exploited following up some great ones by Shir Khan, Douglas Greed and Adana Twins. "Tentacles" is a right little epic with Jadele's looped angelic vocals over a tight pre-peak time groove plus rich synths and just enough funk in the bassline. Second track "Paradise" featuring Boot Slap is a lot tougher and fierce with its tough and frantic drums working alongside some acid snarls, white noise splashes and another killer synth melody. Guaranteed and surefire dance-floor artillery direct from Berlin's best dance-floors to yours.

Review: With a name like Jim Rivers he might sound like your local 'pool cleaner' therefore he opted for the alias Copy Paste Soul; just the young guy playing b2b with Laurent Garnier this year at Nuit Sonores! It's surefire tech house, hands in the air and all on "Flare" with its rapid fire snares and house keys going off all over the shop. It then goes all Rene Pavlovitz style warehouse rave techno on "Blurred" where Shed himself would be impressed. Finally "Gotta Know The Truth" shows us he knows how to make a minimal track that's all druggy and reductionist fare for afterhours complete with pitch shifted vocals and rolling basslines to boot. It seems Copy Paste Soul is a jack of all trades and more power to him!

Review: Homework's Hudson Square EP, released in February, found its way into the CD wallets of a wide range of DJs thanks to a breezy mix of deep house and nu-disco flavours. For this remix release, three tracks from the original EP get a good going over from a variety of deep house heads. While not as immediately engaging as the EP itself, there's still plenty to get excited about. Darabi's version of "Whipped Cream" - a snappy fusion of bubbling disco and deep house melodies - stands out, while Homework's own rework of the Kenny Dixon Jnr-sampling "I'm Into This" is a soft-focus, soul-flecked delight.

Review: Shir Kahn's electro-house label proves that they're still kicking ass with another dancefloor-blistering (actually, is that even possible?) release, and this time it's courtesy of Chicago's James Curd. First up, we get a collaboration between Curd and Luke Million of The Swiss. "Yellow Magic" a slick, heavily compressed electro-disco-boogie monster, but let's mention the elephant in the room here, its more than a vague relation to Daft Punk's Voyager, "Don't Know How" is hypnotic looped and filtered house, while the poppy title track, featuring new wave vocals from Annabel Weston, has more in common with punk funk and reggae.
