Review: The latest instalment of Fabric Presents sees Rødhåd serve up a mix of 28 unreleased tracks. Two of those pieces are from the German DJ himself - including the moody opener, "Inception Report" and "Nightlife Experiences", an expansive but driving track that features Theo Nasa on vocals. Elsewhere, Rodhad taps some familiar names for material. Techno veteran DVS1 doesn't disappoint with the droning, tunnelling "Void", Rene Wise delivers the sub-aquatic but spiky "Children of the Night", while Vril's "Pump Out Kids" is a craft peak-time selection, thanks to its epic bass. New artists are well represented too, with the fast-rising Inox Traxx delivering the rolling, drum-heavy, vocal-sampling "DSF" and the Terrence Dixon-style techno minimalism of Tascamboy's "Recovery" impressing.

Review: As is to be expected for both a new Fabric release, and of course an Or:la album, we have an absolute treat on display here as 'Trusting Theta' explores some of the most unique production approaches we have heard across 2024. We see a range of styles on display from percussive techno flavours of 'Sea Slugs' and the hardcore acidity of 'Patriarchy Purge', through to the more uplifting vocal layerings of 'Fired Up' and downright unusual ideas of 'Cupid Doesn't Live In Clapham Common'. For us, there are a pair of clear stand outs, with Eliza Rose's sumptuous vocal appearance on 'Slay The Beast' making it one of our favourite drops of the year, alongside the super unique rhythms that are unveiled across 'Chant'. Top work from a top producer.

Review: Mella Dee returns with a bang on fabric Originals, delivering the two-track Designer Shapes / Buzzers. Following the success of "Touch Down (Feel The Rush)", which gained traction on BBC Radio 1 and summer festival circuits, Mella Dee offers an instrumental version of the track under the name "Designer Shapes". This 2am-ready techno/breaks cut is paired with Buzzers, a percussive, beat-driven tune that's sure to dominate dancefloors as summer stretches into late nights.

Review: 2 legendary figures combine on this one as we see Fabric roll out the big guns, welcoming both MJ Cole & K-Lone onto this tasty new three track outing. First up, the pair join forces for a summer-fueled collaboration entitled 'Stand Up', seeing a mesmeric selection of distant synths and choppy vocal lines intertwined with serious majesty, before moving onto their solo additions. To begin, MJ Cole gives us 'Lay It On The Line', a hypnotic drift through sweetened piano melodies and vocal reverberations, with K-LONE's 'Bonez' original opting for a more breaks-inspired feel, giving us a super tidy round off.
