Kiko King & Creativemaze - "Wolves" - (3:35) 120 BPM
WOODJU - "Irradiant" - (3:17) 142 BPM
Review: The Obia EP sees trip-hop pioneer Tricky select a host of artists, some of which he discovered on his worldwide travels. The EP is bookended by tracks ("Damballah" and "Irradiant") from Russian hero WOODJU - the former haunted trap/witch house, the latter betraying tormented breaky cinematic vibes. Fellow Russian Syava contributes "Nenaviju Izmenu", which is quirky hip-hop. Elsewhere Massive Attack's 3D appears as 'Euanwhosarmy' for the gentle and glitchy "For Nothing" and Berlin duo Kiko King & Creativemaze deliver two contemplative hip-hop tracks, "Tin Man" and "Wolves". Finally Tricky himself appears with CASISDEAD on the standout creeped-out punky bass tale "Does It".
