Ox - (4:20) 140 BPM
Review: With the year drawing to a close, it's fantastic to see that FatKidOnFire are continuing their intense run right up to the wire, with this latest offering from Darkai leaping into the darkest depths of the dubstep sound. We open up with the roaring bass rolls and eerie melodic taps of 'Ox', a sub-rumbling delight, jam-packed with unpredictable bass switches. Next, 'Dues' combines chain-like percussive slaps with more eerie pad backdrops for a super sweep of dubwise delight, before 'Danger' lets loose, working together tidy syncopated drum patterns with a spicy sub selection below. Finally, the warbling bass notation of 'Swamps' gives us a joyous closer, pretty much unearthing everything that is said on the tin, with grizzly bass textures and squelching drums working together for a fiery closer. Lovely!
