Review: Shortly after announcing a remix competition for his recent Feathers & Bones LP - 10 tracks of Rodriguez Jr.'s signature synth work - the first results arrive. Settling in is the heavy techno session of Skala's remix which is moody and emotional with a spoken word sample to boot. Minimal yet progressive sounds come from the Oostil remix that's reliant on a heavy bassline and strong, synthy counterparts, while Elif looks to 80s new wave and 90s trance pop elements in her remix.

Review: Oliver Mateu aka Rodriguez Jr returns with a full-length release titled 'Feathers & Bones' via his newly launched imprint of the same name. The album was recorded over the course of two years, conceptualised while living in Paris and completed from his new home - Miami, Florida. From the sun-kissed deep house of the title track, to the evocative sunset breaks of "Turn The Light On" featuring the legendary UK outfit Stereo MCs, to the neon-lit nu-disco of "Amplify" featuring vocalist Liset Alea and the slinky and hypnotic "Tuning The Moon" with rising Italian producer Giorgia Angiuli - 'Feathers & Bones' is an extensive 10-track opus that dives deep into the Frenchman's complex sonic identity.

Review: Following the recent Amplify release, Rodriguez Jr returns with another crossover track. "Visions" resounds to rich strings and epic melodies and sees him collaborate again with his wife and vocalist Liset Alea. Playing out over an epic bass, her rousing tones add the requisite amount of drama to the arrangement. Lending the release real underground kudos are two remixes from Tim Engelhardt. The first take sees him meld the vocals with a steely rhythm, overlaid with dramatic, welling chords. The instrumental version follows a similar approach, but with a focus on the relentless groove and knotted percussion as the epic chords arc upwards.
