Feel My Bicep

Operating and active since 2012, Feel My Bicep (FMB) is the home of Andrew Ferguson & Matthew McBriar, more commonly known as the critically acclaimed cultural phenomena that is Bicep. Initially started as a popular blog in 2009, the duo’s high-key concentration on the very best in glowing electronica led them to launch their own platform with the ‘Vision Of Love’ EP, following it up via 2014’s cracking ‘Satisfy’ & ‘Lyk Lyk’ and seminal 2015 Hammer-collab ‘Dahlia’; all have gleefully showcased Bicep’s path to greatness and well, we all know the success story from here. Also a homestead for fresh, new and established talent, the likes of the aforementioned Hammer, John Talabot, Sandboards, Cromby, Brassica, Brame & Hamo and DeFeKT & Extrawelt have provided stunning efforts, contributing to FMB’s truly illustrious back catalogue.

Review: We were somewhat surprised to learn that this is Rory "Hammer" Hamilton's first appearance on chums and sometime studio partners Bicep's consistently on-point label. He's not been shirking mind, having released fine EPs on Optimo Music and Loft Records, amongst others. Happily, C-Space is a fine homecoming, with "C Space" track - a thrillingly intergalactic chunk of saucer-eyed techno that sits somewhere between classic Motor City fare, Orbital and vintage Circulation and early '90s - ranking among Hamilton's best work to date. The deep space vibes then continue via the rubbery electro-meets-intelligent techno flex of "Atlantic 252", while closer "Inside Soul" is a deeper and even more spacey chunk of emotive machine funk.
