Review: German label Feines Tier opens its account for 2021 with this collaboration between Marz and Labbe. Inspired by early 00s minimal house, but adding their own sonic signatures throughout, this is a hypnotic, distinctive release. The title track revolves around woozy synths and a lazy rhythm, while on "Stay" the pair deliver a more linear, tripped out track - it's the kind of heads-down, frazzled material that you'd expect Nicolas Lutz to spin. Meanwhile, "Meaning" sees them deploy a menacing, building bass as a backdrop for eerie synths, and "Heart Drive" features acid-heavy sequences that are underpinned by a throbbing rhythm - the perfect end to this high-quality EP.
