Review: Since March, Len Faki has offered up two action-packed mini-albums featuring remixing tracks from his decidedly epic, 24-track 2023 debut album, Fusion. Here he rounds off the intended trilogy of remixes releases via a small but perfectly formed four-track missive. Sometime REKIDS, Phantasy Sound and Feel My Bicep contributor Chris McCormick dons the Cromby alias to bring the rave on two tracks: a slamming, acid-flecked techno rendition of 'Blackjack' and a wide-eyed, riff-heavy, acid-powered version of 'It's Time (To Move Your Body)'. Elsewhere, Matthew Herbert delivers a deliciously weird, heavy and percussion-rich 'Brain Dub' of 'Don't Be Stupid Day' and Glasskin re-imagines 'Gamma' as a pounding, warehouse-ready throb-job.

Review: The second instalment of Len Faki's remixes see the storied techno producer tap his favourite artists to re-interpret his work. Luke Slater's Deep Heat take on "Shri Yantra" is redolent of his classic Planetary Assault Systems work, with firing percussion and dramatic break downs to the fore. In contrast, Amotik's version of "Make Me Scream" follows a heads-down approach, with haunting vocals wrapped into a bleep-heavy, rolling groove. In contrast, ANNA's remix of "Hymn" is a tranced out, big room track. At the other end of the spectrum, Modeselektor's interpretation of "Don't Be Stupid Day" is a moody electro stepper, led by waves of menacing low end.

Review: Honorio first made his name as a drum'n'bass producer, but as Endless Love demonstrates, he is also adept at making dance floor techno. The title track features Theo Nasa's ominous vocals unfolding over robust tribal drums and dynamic percussive twists, making for a moody techno track. "Gunz Blazin" is a house-influenced affair. Led by filtered samples and a rolling groove, it reveals a lighter side to Honorio's sound. On "Stabbed In The Heart", he opts for a deeper approach - focused on tribal drums and spaced-out synths, it's an expertly measured homage to Octave One. The release also features a sleek, steely take of the title track by label owner Len Faki under his Hardspace alias.

Review: More main room techno tackle from Len Faki's ever reliable Figure imprint. This one comes from Kristian who explores different sounds based on live jams with a dubby, raw house style. There's the hypnotic underwater pummel of opening cut "Doubtful", the greyscale backroom dub of "Dry Dub" perfect for those heads-down moments, while the cavernous and glacial stomp of "Insider" soon gives way to the soulful and life-affirming tones of "Worthiness" on more of a Detroit tip.

Review: Touch The Earth, John Beltran's third artist album under the Placid Angles project, appeared last year on Figure. Now it gets the remix treatment from some of electronic music's most respected names. In Marcel Dettmann's hands, "Chakwaina" becomes a chord-heavy, sub-sonic piece of deep techno and Cassy turns "Deep Blue" into a jacking, heads-down track. In contrast, Mike Paradinas' take on "Beauty Begins With Us" under his u-Ziq guise is a dreamy break beat track, and the collection contains a rare remix from Plaid, with the feted UK duo transforming "Natsukashii" into a beautiful piece of psychedelic electronica. Beltran's own version of "When The Sun Shines Through" is also worthy of attention, a blissed out piece of ambience.

Review: The second instalment of Arthur Robert's Metamorphosis series for Figure sees him deliver more high-paced but complex techno jams. "Abundance" is a frenetic affair, with Robert dropping dubbed out soundscapes, while "Watchful" resounds to a similar pace, powered by a tone shifting bass and ticking percussion. "Homing" features an idiosyncratic mixture of dubby sound effects, layered white noise and glitchy percussion, while the release takes a subdued turn on the atmospheric, home listening "You Cannot Hurt Me". It's only a temporary diversion however, and the second volume of Metamorphosis concludes with the deep space bleeps and high-paced groove of "Tunnel Vision".

Review: Following on from his 2020 Indigo album, Exos aka Arnvidur Snorrason drops a killer minimal techno EP for Figure. The title track is a high-tempo, minimal affair, peppered with acid lines and rasping percussion. Meanwhile "In No Time" sees him opt for a deeper approach: the drums are dubbed out and the use of filtered break downs lends the track a truly cavernous sensibility. Exos returns to a peak time environment for "Time Of Time", where stomping kicks and glitchy percussion are fused for maximum impact. In stark contrast is "No To Time", a serene, stripped back affair led by dreamy chords and the deep, chugging finale, "Time Of".

Review: Vision is Charlotte de Wiite's debut on Len Faki's Figure imprint and follows on from her trio of releases in 2019 on KNTXT. The title track echoes the popular techno DJ's club sound, resounding to rough, visceral beats and ticking percussion, while on "Out of Balance", she drops a throbbing, hypnotic groove that pulsates against the backdrop of atmospheric filters. "Unthoughtful" reveals another side to de Witte's musical personality, with slow-motion beats providing the basis for dreamy textures. Figure has tapped Kangding Ray for a remix and he drops a dreamy but powerful take on "Unthoughtful" that steps and swaggers majestically.
