Review: Taiwanese label Flower Of life are back with David Lodge at the helm. The Be Normal EP features four cuts of experimental beats and smooth grooves such as on dynamic opener "Be" featuring layers of rich synth textures over a broken beat and sombre piano notes. "Skins" is a tripped out tech house jam with a grinding bassline and samples from Gwen Guthrie's "Getting Hot" while "Steam" closes the release out with a woozy minimal house cut geared for the afterhours; think m_nus or Contexterrior.

Review: For his latest offering, Los Grandes label boss Dynamicron lets the Launching Satellites crew handle the release work while he handles the music side of things. Good job too as it's a very strong release indeed: "Hard To Find" is a deliciously slowly building electro-disco opener, the mean 'n' moody "Leave No Trace" follows with sinister panache, "Dust" is over seven minutes of laid back Balearic vibes and "Early Colours" is an experimental funk-out of the highest order.

Review: In the mid-'80s, when digital FM synths took over from analogue, the sound of music largely changed from warmer tones to a frostier sound. Ironically though these crisp, fresh sonics lent themselves very well to blissed out sun kissed productions from Miami Vice to Balearic sound waves and travelogue programmes everywhere. Olywok is clearly a fan and on Await The Escape he goes all out with this aesthetic. Favourites here include the gentle disco breeze of "Swordlegs" and the almost RnB beats of poolside gem, "Grasp".

Review: Italian producer Tulioxi has a mean line in making moody electro-disco tunes, This one's no different with "One Way" being a brooding John Carpenter-esque synth groover, "Big Bed Thin Man" is low slung Italo disco reminiscent of NOIA or Casco, as is the bleepy, arpeggiated "Part Select". There's a whiff of the wild and windy moors on "Heathcliff", with a romantic mellow electronic pulse providing the backdrop for a comical Emily Bronte recital!
