Review: Given that Jimpster's productions are always musically rich and full of intricate sonic details, you'd expect this new collection of remixes of classic cuts to be similarly minded. It is, of course, resulting in some genuinely brilliant revisions. Space Ghost delivers deliver a twinkling, Larry Heard-inspired analogue deep house mix of 'One', while Jon Dixon joins the dots between jazzy deep house and early 2000s tech-house futurism on his version of 'Smile For a While'. Elsewhere, darker late-night house vibes are provided by the Teflon Dons (a killer dub of 'Where You Are'); Kai Alce's revision of 'Inside The Loop' oozes sun-kissed positivity; Kareem Ali turns 'Brought to Bare' into a deep-tech roller; and Solid Gold Playaz reach for the percussion on a deliciously druggy mix of 'Echoes In My Head'.

Review: Comprised of German deep house veterans Manuel Tur and Adrian Hoffmann, Clavis is the new name they release under in tandem with their Amberroom project - where they collaborate with Ramin Nouyan. Once again it's for Jimpster's ever reliable Freerange, following up last year's terrific Boyd EP. The Wirefire EP sees them continue on with their deep, Afro-inspired electronic grooves of previous releases, which is evident on the euphoric dance floor narrative of "Camira". Elsewhere, there's the moody minimal tech house chugger that is the title track, reminiscent of each respective producer's style back in the mid noughties. Finally, they end things on a glassy eyed and bittersweet note on the emotive deep house epic "Matinada".

Review: As befits a producer and label owner with his level of experience, Jimpster has done a great job in hand picking producers to rework his double A-side single "Burning Up/Becoming Cyclonic". Perhaps the most ear-catching tweak comes from Bawrut, whose inspired revision flits from off-kilter, polyrhythmic madness to wonky, angular and percussive insanity midway through. It's unusual, but also undeniably powerful and filthier than a skip-load of 1970s jazz mags. That said, Telfort's smooth, spacey and rush-inducing deep house take on "Becoming Cyclonic" is also superb, while Charles Webster's woozy, organic-sounding, mid-tempo rework of "Burning Up" is a deliciously deep, slow burning delight.

Review: Since making his debut a few years back, Maurice "Whitesquare" Uzzan has notched up appearances on such highly regarded labels as Culprit, DFTD, Toy Tonics, 20:20 Vision and, most recently, Jimpster's Freerange Recordings. Here he returns to the latter with three more atmospheric and polished chunks of European deep house. The real peak-time beast is "Ligai", a typically woozy and slowly building affair that layers alien synth-bass, foreboding chords and metallic electronic riffs atop a percussively powerful tech-house groove. The EP's other two cuts are deeper, breezier and more delicately layered, with the South African inspired goodness of "Stina" being followed by the blissful and melodious electronic deep house warmth of "Sand".

Review: Red D? What more can we say: he plays house! The Belgian maestro who runs one of the best labels in deep music alongside hombre San Soda returns: but outside of his usual haunt and for Jimpster's similarly reliable Freerange imprint with Moan The Mania EP. It's an FM synth bass attack of the much funkier variety on the title track, while NYC disco hero Eli Escobar serves up a great remix next which somehow channels a classic acid house sound reminiscent DJ Bam Bam via Plastikman: don't believe us? Well give it a listen yourself! It's more like the Red D we know on the emotive and bittersweet melodic closer "Dusk Or Dawn".

Review: His music productions can be found on labels like Free Range, Golf Channel, Engrave, Compost Records and Hell Yeah Recordings. He is Enzo Elia and he's crafted his own style of producing that has taken him all over Europe as well as to Tokyo and Tel Aviv. This new one's for Jimpster's always impressive Freerange imprint where he serves up "Drfiting" and what a fitting title it is for this sublime and ethereal journey track. Woven from a rich tapestry of rich synthesizer work, comprised of soaring arpeggios, atmospheric pads and lush sound design over a steady beat. It also gets a wicked remix by man of the moment: Tel Aviv's mighty Moscoman who turns the track into his usual cosmo-indie-punk-funk thing and is wonderful as always.

Review: German house fusionist Adam Port first hooked up with the Stereo MC's some years back, with the veteran British hip-hop duo featuring on his 2014 cut "Place". On "Changes", he laces a particularly world-weary, emotion rich vocal from mic man Rob B over a rich, bouncy, synth-laden deep house groove and intertwined electronic melodies. His own remix, which kicks off the EP, pushes the track further towards Innervisions style late night tech-house territory. Arguably the most impressive version of all, though, comes from Freerange boss Jimpster, who re-imagines "Changes" as a handclap-heavy chunk of dusty late night deep house that benefits greatly from some warm chords and sweaty percussion hits.

Review: Little did we know that the excellent Freerange label were cooking up a follow-up EP by Clavis, the production duo consisting of Manuel Tur and Adrian Hoffmann, who deal in a very specific brand of techy house. Much like their debut EP for the label, "Alcine" rolls its pseudo tribal drums at a steady pace among dissolving melodies, and "Mangogul's Dream" offers a similar yet even more minimalistic take on the genre. The dub version of the latter is what really gets our juices flowing, though, because we're deeply into that swollen bass and well-rounded beats...not to mention that echoing cascade of percussion that spills so well over the tough groove.

Review: Having debuted with the much-loved Go Home 12" on Compost Black Label last year, much is expected of Hollis P Monroe and Overnite's new Black 80s project. Hopes are naturally high for "Move On". Pleasingly, it doesn't disappoint. The lead mix - a version from Monroe and Wrong Jeremy - sets the tone, delivering a woozy, tactile, evocative and subtly soulful trip into European deep house territory. Overnite's version is even more emotion-rich, making greater use of Monroe's unfussy, soulful vocal and some chugging, off-kilter beats. Finally, Kollektiv Turmstrasse up the tempo and reach for the dreamy pads on an inspired deep tech-house version.

Review: UK house producer Jimpster gets reworked by two of his European house contemporaries in fine, diverse style. Andre Lodemann's take on "Towards the Seer" is an expansive, gradually unfolding affair. It starts off in bleepy, stripped back mode and then is guided by a searing bassline into an emotive breakdown. By contrast, KiNK's version of "Porchlight & Rockingchairs" is deeper and even more considered; balmy chords wash in over a pulsing groove. KiNK then gradually introduces a melody line so sweet and dreamy that it sounds like it was plucked from Carl Craig's studio and given a modern twist that makes it suitable for European dance floors.
