Review: Carlos Sicrock continues to map out new possibilities for electro, as this high-quality release shows. "CSP-1" incorporates haunting vocals into a robust, angular rhythm, while on the title track, he deploys cold snares and grainy bass as the backdrop for dreamy synth sequences. In contrast, "Jungles" is a slower, more melancholic affair, with Sicrock conjuring up evocative textures over a stepping rhythm. "The Hermit" sees the Barcelona producer venture farther down this introspective route, with subtle drums acting as the guide for the kind of spine-tingling melodic sequence you'd normally associate with Lost Trax. "Traxium" is more pared back and revisits the gritty funk of "CSP-1", closing the loop on this fine EP.
