Love Core (feat Omar - Ralf GUM radio edit) - (3:37) 125 BPM
Review: Sometimes when you release a successful album you can afford to sit back and let it do its thing for while. German-born South African-based musician really believes in that idea. So much so, that following the 2014 release of his In My City, he's simply treated us to remixes of album tracks. This time it's the turn of the breezy, upbeat pop-soul ditty "Love Core", featuring Omar's silky vocals. There are a host of remixes and edits, but the key ones are Sir LSG's instrumental rework which benefits from some killer African percussion and Ralf's own spacey, beat-less reprise.
Review: German-born South African-based superstar Ralf Gum unleashes his third studio album, and it's nothing short of a soulful sensation. Peppered with sun-kissed grooves and golden-toned vocalists throughout, it will instantly flash you back to the warmer months. Highlights include the rich harmonies and oceanic Rhodes on "Our Love Is A Star", the slinky tech wriggles, gradual dynamics and Portia Monique's purring voice on "Free" and the delicate African percussion and gravelly tones of the title track. A genuine document of depth and soul, this is a reminder to all deep house pretenders of what can be achieved when you understand the real roots.
