Review: The most enjoyable thing about any Good Club Allstars drop is that we know to expect both the abstract and unusual, with these four system-ready weapons all poised to send us on a wonderful sonic experience. We open up with the post-funky style drum intricacies and bubbling log drums of Fiyahdred's 'Log On', followed closely by 'Prove It', from DJ JM, which drives down a much more acidic route for us all to enjoy. From here, OSSX gives us a seriously crunchy arrangement utilizing distant breaksy samples and choppy vocals on 'Fire Hydrant', before ZVRI's 'Kontrol' sees Cue join the party for one last blippy masterclass, rounding off another vibrant project with a bang.
Review: The talented young Gundam finally gets his own release after a string of collaborations, and it comes through the Goon Club Allstars label. Fittingly, this is some high-powered bass gear, and "Intimate" couldn't be more of a hybrid track, where fluttering swarms of stop-start drums collide with choppy vocal samples and sporadic hits of low frequencies. "Too Late" is similar in its approach, except that here the sounds are gentler, bringing through more of an r&b feel that sits just right with us and is bound to go down a storm with the UK funky fans.
