Review: Plymouth's finest! Plasmator finally unleashes his debut album on Sola's Grand Theft Audio imprint and the world is a better place for it. A wide armed assault that spans the tempos and subgenres, 'The Only Constant' taps back to a few cornerstone sounds of D&B. Cuts like openers 'I Don't Care' and 'Going In' hit with that tearing OG dancefloor vibe that's reminiscent of Ram Trilogy, 'The Rain' goes pure jungle rinse-out while 'Find A Way' smacks of the classic late 2000s Logistics Hospital era. With plenty of deep twists ('Genesis', 'Constant') and some real forward-thinking dancefloor melters like 'Homing Missiles', this is an exceptional body of work that showcases a deep understanding and love for breakbeat culture and bass music. Constantly sick.

Review: The Manchester vibes are strong right here as a local legend links up with a legendary local crew: G13 founder Rowney goes ballistic on Sola's Grand Theft Audio. Spirits, energy and vibes are high as you can imagine... 'Sound Fi Dead' is a full laser-blasing dancefloor bash while 'Conundrum' packs some utterly show-stopping strings before hurling you into a sea of steppy, sheer consonance. Elsewhere 'Closer' takes things a little deeper and brings a touch of dreamy euphoria into the mix while 'Face Your Fear' finishes on a big aggy facemelting bang. We'll have a vowel please.

Review: Northern banger brigade GTA are marking a big old decade in the game with this walloping collection of beats across the spectrum. Delivered in 10s over five different themes from classics to remixes to floor-scorchers, the end result is an excitingly varied and feisty 50-strong spread of drum & bass perspectives where vibes range from Conrad Subs' utterly gully jungle vibes on his remix of Sl8r's 'Facking Jungle M8' to the thundering dancefloor wallops of Cliques' remix of the label bosses 'Pico De Gallo'. No strong is left unturned throughout the collection as we're just as like to be refreshed by liquid (Pyxis & Maykor's 'Guardian Angel') as we are flattened by venomous, laser-kissed neuro blasts (ICU's remix of 'Rip The Roof Off') Crash bang wallop what an album.

Review: Madness from Manchester! Sola's Grand Theft Audio wrap up another stunning year with this truly epic VA that - as the title Full Spectrum nicely hints - reflects and celebrates the full dynamic range of this beautiful thing we call drum & bass. Over the 33 track range we're treated to all manner of treats and beats from dreamy disco-like flexes (B-Plexx - 'Cynical') to wild, untamed howlers that melt clothes within seconds of you hearing the bass (Replete - ' Theia'). There's so much swagger in between, too. Hologram's G'd up 'Make A Move' acts as the perfect opener while other cuts such as Korrode's futuristic dark funk stepper 'Alternate Universe', Voltone & Stuart Rowe's euphoric dancefloor bubbler 'Drift' and Tong8's soulful swooner 'Choice' all map out some of GTA's most exciting sonic parameters so far. Full spectrum by name, full flavour by nature.

Review: Full spectrum by name, widescreen badassery by nature: Sola's Grand Theft Audio imprint gears up for another epic end-of-year compendium with this inaugural sampler. Tengu takes the lead with the wig-melting 'Hellraiser' before Luka goes into a really interesting electro-style riffy bassline buzzcut 'Distance'. Elsewhere Replete goes full lawn mower mode on the diesel powered 'Theia' and Corrupted Mind's 'Error' brings the EP to a very interesting, twisted garage-inspired vibe. If these are anything to by, the whole VA is going to be utter fire.

Review: Manchester's Sola return to their massive debut album from last year with this equally hefty remix collection featuring a wide range of impressive, high grade names. ESKR, Guzi, Cliques, Plastmator, Shayper, Pyxis and Antagonist are just some of the top shelf names at play here as we're whipped across the dancefloor continuum relentlessly in a similar spirit to the original album. Every remix is a highlight but Cliques' devastating twist of 'Pico De Gallo', Clarkey's ultra-stomp twist on 'Trust Grit', Antagonist's deep rebuild of 'The Drift' the Perplex's BBK-level tear-up of 'Maintain Thine Hue' are some of the biggest stand-out bangers on here. Review: Manchester mandem Sola rally up the troops for their label's largest VA to date - the 'Fresh Music Annual 2022'. Emphasis on the word fresh; the tracklist reads like who's who in new-gen D&B from Shayper to Vektral to Perplex to Nvrsoft to Plasmator and many more in between. Complete with some wise and slightly older sages in the game such as AJ Mutated, Dilligent Fingers, ESKR and K Jah, the album packs a powerful punch and does an excellent job reflecting the whole spectrum of the genre from tear-up dancefloor danger ('Crank It') to cosmic ('Surgical') to emotional and funky ('A Bad Feeling') to classic late 2000s hurricane soul music ('Slow') A beautiful snapshot of a vital scene in the best health right now, big up Grand Theft Audio.

Proud champions of all styles and subgenres of drum & bass, their album 'Stars Align' brings together everything the trio are about... And plenty more. Highlights include the absolutely firing Latin banger 'Pico De Gallo', the glitchy Opiou-inspired cosmic beats piece 'Turncloak' and the absolutely firing 'Amazonia' which brings together pretty much every flavour of D&B all in one track. All this and plenty more, Sola have delivered something very special right here.
